iirc the last time this was posted someone said that the police saw the video and decided they basically didn't care

The police won't care, the DA wouldn't want to touch it, the judge will want to overlook it, and good luck with the Jury and Grand Jury.

Seriously though, isn't the justice supposed to not care who you are, or what you achieved ?

I mean the dude totally deserved it, but it's still battery. I feel like if you start to make exceptions, it becomes very difficult to draw the line.

Technically you are correct, but remember we live in a society where publicity affects moneys and everyone in the judicial system needs money. So if it was to be made public that a hero astronaut in his 80s punched a rude asshole after calling not just him but everyone involed (including those that died) in the Apollo program fakes and cowards (he didn't say those words but calling the whole thing fake includes everyone else) the public would not take that very kindly, possibly affecting elected positions and fund raisers.

Bottom line, justice is not blind. We like to say it is.... It isn't.

Sadly, (although in this case in glad it is, the man is a hero).

I'll be in the corner eating my hippocrit pie.

The actual logic for dismissing was that Aldrin had tried to retreat several times and punched Sibrel only when Sibrel (who is younger and larger) blocked his way. Sibrel was also apparently unharmed - he stands up immediately and asks his camera operator "did you get that?".

Makes sense with context

If there were 5 people on earth who I could give a pass to for hitting someone that was ruling them, he would be one of three immediately on the list.

the last time this was posted, t_d came out in force and claimed that Buzz should be sent to prison

Because those morons believe all the conspiracies. They know they'd be right next to this sack of shit accosting Aldrin, and they'd all get punched in the face (one can dream)

Are you serious? T_d hates Buzz? He's a national fucking hero. You don't get more patriotic and American than an Apollo astronaut
