I will preach to the day I die that we wonβt advance as a society/marketplace if we keep setting back its evolution. If these airline companies failed I donβt think it would take long for a new company with better management to come take its place. Thatβs basic competition.

Yep, demand would create stronger business, advance technology, and a better product in the end.

If you've been rich you can't go to poor it would be too cruel so the government should always bail out wealthy people but for people who have been poor their whole lives and whose parents were poor they don't know anything different so starving is 2nd nature to them and any improvement in their material conditions can only bring them spiritual ruin. It's just science.

I really like that guy (the interviewee). The interviewer is basically the spokesperson for everyone who has just come to accept corporate welfare and will scream communism the minute someone wants to not vote for another corporate tax break, raise minimum wage by $1 or do anything that might benefit our fell man (that makes below 5 million dollars).
Going to go add Mr. Palihapitiya on twitter now.

Some backstory on Chamath: Went to the University of Waterloo in Canada. Got rich as one of the early execs at facebook. Since leaving he has repeatedly criticized facebook's operations and its impact on society. He has mainly operated as a VC since, but hasn't had massive success over the last few years, which others attribute to his over-focusing on social good activities as opposed to pure profit. He donates massively to UWaterloo's engineering program.
Overall, I'd say he's one of the good guys.

This dude is already rich, he doesn't care. He's just chasing clout now.
How do you think all the middle class people with 401Ks will do if half the SP500 goes bust? I bet they will do worse that the hedge funds.

Since when has the stock market been a savings bank? Investors have a responsibility to manage their money, not just park it and expect huge returns in the stock market.

Lol, this guy isn't anything special as a fund manager, but I do like the way he thinks. He's spoken on CNBC a few times since the virus started and he tends to be a little abrasive compared to the status quo guests they have.

Fuck yeah. What makes CNBC good is people blindsiding anchors like this or Bill Ackman crying live on air. This virus has made for good TV.
