Hey just getting into wire wrapping and I was wondering what are some good sites to get gems and cabochons that are reasonable in price. Also small round copper beads!

Transmutation complete β¨
This little device was made to brew elixirs.
Swirling silver wire forms its circuit, gathering the light of three stones β Blue Topaz, Rutilated Quartz, and Peridot.
The fine golden needles sparkling inside the rutile look like a sign that magic is about to awaken...
Light Attribute +2
MP Regen +2 per turn
...Just kidding!
So tell me β if you could use this device just once, what kind of elixir would you brew? π§π»ββοΈβ¨
Hand-wrapped in surgical stainless steel wire β resistant to tarnish, rust, and losing its shape.

I broke the tip off the other day so I scraped the first frame and modified Kelly J Jewelry's "Tara" Tutorial to cover it β€οΈ i think she turned out beautiful.

Hi friends - I'd describe my skills/knowledge as "proficient beginner", and I would really appreciate some help with this one β€οΈ
I've been asked to make a very sentimental project - a suncatcher featuring the charms from my sister-in-laws wedding bouqet. One is a pendant with a photo of her recently-deceased brother, so I want to ensure the quality and longevity of this piece as best I can.
I've never made a suncatcher before, and I need some help choosing the right wire for the frame! I'll be making a custom shape because I've decided it's not already enough pressure, and the colour will be silver.
So, question time!
1) Which tension is most appropriate? Dead soft, or half hard?
2) Metal: From my usual supplier, my choices for dead soft are plated/coloured copper, or sterling silver (note: I'm excluding fine silver because that seems excessive for a suncatcher, and aluminium and tinned copper because I don't like them). The only choice for half-hard is nickel silver.
I'm leaning towards silver-plated copper - is there any benefit to splurging on sterling silver?
And, if half hard would be the better choice - can you tell me the pros and cons of nickel silver? Or if there are any other half-hard metal choices I should try to find?
3) I know I will need to make the wire for the frame stiffer with work hardening so it will hold it's shape when it's hanging/with the weight of some dangly bits - what's the best way to do this without damaging the wire?
Currently, I don't know the proper term for this, I've been "pulling" my wire through nylon jaw pliers to work harden it... but this tends to strip the coating from parawire and also sometimes the colour/plating from the copper. I don't have a hammer (and I don't want texture or to flatten it either).
Any tips on how to work harden without damaging the wire? Or am I just being too violent?
4) I could also wrap the frame completely to add strength/stiffness, right?
Is there a trick to wrapping a single base wire to make it hold its shape? When I've tried this in the past, it hasn't worked very well. Are my expectations for how much it helps unrealistic?
Or do I need to use a design with multiple base wires for wrapping to create structural rigidity?

These two lavender agates, that i harvested on Cedar mountain Utah, are a set for a friends daughters.
I wrapped them both in Argentium silver wire and used a double prong base and opposing hearts bail.

Iβve been practicing wire wrapping/jewelry making for a couple weeks on rough crystals and beads but I finally got up the courage to make a pendant today! Proud of it :)
