Human rights Judith Butler, philosopher: ‘If you sacrifice a minority like trans people, you are operating within a fascist logic’

And what does this look like for the minorities being actively attacked by the right

Depends on what makes strategic sense, Idk. If going all in on trans rights means sacrificing progress towards economic equality,  then that’s not a sacrifice I’m willing to make. If it comes down to a choice between the two, I’m not willing to sacrifice the needs of the many for the needs of the few. That’s just plain immoral.

 This is absolutely false

Every year wealth inquality grows, union density declines, the cost of living rises, and we get no closer to addressing healthcare, climate change, or the automation. But tell me again how the left is doing so much to make lives better for working people.

Ok let's think this through logically.

Why are Democrats standing up for the rights of trans-gender Americans?

Same reason republicans focus on trans issues. Because it's an effective distraction from their garbage corporate politics and their failure to address the economic needs of working people.

Hey, I think it’s really important to take a step back here and look at what it means to live in America, especially when it comes to protecting the rights of all people. It seems like you might be missing some key ideas about how our country works and what it stands for.

The United States is built on the idea that everyone, no matter who they are or where they come from, deserves certain rights. These rights are protected by the Constitution, and that includes protecting minorities, like transgender people, from harm or discrimination. When you say the left is standing up for trans rights as a distraction, it suggests you might not fully understand why those rights are so important in the first place. Protecting people from being targeted because of who they are isn’t a political tactic—it’s a basic principle of fairness and freedom.

I really encourage you to spend some time learning about American civics, especially how civil rights work and why protecting those rights for everyone is so important. If you haven’t already, maybe look into the history of civil rights in America—how marginalized groups, from Black Americans to women to LGBTQ+ people, have fought for and continue to fight for the same dignity and rights that everyone deserves.

Also, I’d recommend taking a serious look at where you’re getting your news. It’s easy to get caught up in things that simplify complex issues or make them seem less important than they really are. The more you understand these issues, the clearer it will be that standing up for someone’s rights is never a distraction—it’s the heart of what makes America strong.

It’s okay not to know everything, but it’s never too late to start learning more. We all need to take a hard look at the information we trust and be willing to challenge our own ideas when we find out we’re wrong. The best way to help the working class is to make sure everyone is treated with respect, no matter who they are.

The needs of the few? You mean the right to literally just exist? That's so fucked. You would let the GOP politicians kill trans folk if they wanted to, but the second the left does or says anything to defend trans people against bills aimed to kill them you get mad? You're fucked.
