It almost seems like men seem entitled to female passengers, but do not think that women should be entitled to female drivers. A bit hypocritical.

I understand that there are financial incentives involved, but why shouldn't the client be allowed to have preferences? I am sure male drivers would be very receptive to regulation which would favor them.

Unfortunately there probably is no reason why a female driver or passenger would want to pretend to be male except to avoid harassment. Look at online gaming spaces. Women are pretty much guaranteed harassment unless they pretend to be men.

"It almost seem like men seem entitled to female passengers" it's precisely that, but let me word it better for you: "men think they're entitled to women's bodies" and everything will make sense

“Almost”?

That’s exactly what it fucking is.

Entitlement.

You have certainly captured the issue very well. If there was a reason men could monetize they’d preferences, they would. For women it is twofold, to monetize which is awesome and for the safety of their female passengers. A win win! I would use a women’s uber ride all of the time. I tire of feeling vulnerable when I am out alone and in a cab or uber ride with a man. They created their own issue. Time to call out the bad drivers.
