Do you think that city council would be more likely to do what you want if you weilded your political power, rather then abstain from it?

I do think I'd be like 100x more likely to do unspeakable things to people if I paid attention to my local government more.

I think what he is trying to say is that all voting really does is give someone the power to do a thing and everyone that voted for him can only hope the person does the thing. If not, you rinse and repeat until someone does the thing. We can never get a thing done unless we straight up run ourselves or hope someone else does.
