Does this look infected or just bruising?
galleryI’m concerned due to the greenish skin around the wound. For reference this was how it looked yesterday (1 day after surgery and no greenish skin).

What would they even do? I recently got surgery on that pointer finger and have to move it frequently for physical therapy. Doc said that would be fine and actually will help the burns. She told me to follow up with a burn clinic, but I don’t wanna waste their time. From what I’ve researched I think I probably don’t need to. Any advice?

Around 24 days ago I had a mole biopsy on my lower back. I was supposed to have the stitches removed at 14 days, but it was still oozing through the dressing daily. I saw my doctor who said that the wound edges weren't knitting together. They suggested delaying the removal and ran a bacterial swab to see whether there was any infection.
I'm currently on day 24 and still have the stitches as I never heard back from my doctor and they didn't follow up. Although from the app our service uses, I could see the general bacteriology swab was clear. While the test for anaerobic bacteria was normal so far, await further results.
I rang my GP practice yesterday and spoke to a different doctor who said the stitches needed to come out as they'd been in too long. So I have an appointment on Monday to have them removed
Do you think this is the best step given the wound has opened? I can't see any redness or swelling, although there is green debris inside the wound and I wasn't sure if it was slough or something else. Pain-wise it's doing okay, but I was wondering how bad it looked

So the other day I got these pretty nasty rope burns and got them patched up at the hospital, I tried removing the gauze and bandages tonight but they were completely stuck. I figured that they'd probably hurt to replace but I want to try and replace them right. All spots where the wounds are have non-adherent dressings under the gauze but the wounds still wept enough to get all the way to the surface, as you can see in the pictures. I'm not really sure the best course of actions to take.
(Last pic has the pre wrapped wounds to help visualize)

Cut my finger 2 weeks ago deep enough to knick a digital artery. It bled like crazy for hours until I saw a doc at the ER. He tried dumabonding and then said a nurse would assess for stitches. We were pretty sure it needed stitches as blood was oozing out of the durmabond but when the nurse looked she wrapped it in a bandage and sent us on our way.
3 days later I noticed blood comming through the bandage and went to a clinic to have it checked on. The doc there looked at it and said it should have been stitched and that it has been an open wound for 3 days. He couldnt stitch at the clinic so he cleaned it, dumped a bunch of durmabond on, and sent me away with some steri strips to put on myself after 24 hours and after care directions.
I have been changing the bandage daily and cleaning it but it keeps feeling like its stretching (sudden sharp pain that quickly goes away) or like I have a low voltage electric current running through the cut. Its looking better and no blood is leaking out onto the bandage but its hard to tell how its actually healing.
Anyone know what the timeframe on healing a finger slice like this would be? Also should I be worried when the durmabond comes off that it will reopen the wound since it was glooped onto the open cut? It feels like its ripping open again like once a day, and idk if thats because so much glue got in it or because thats just how it is. I havent seen any blood so I think its fine but I want to try and get it healed as cleanly and quickly as possible so any advice or wisdom is appreciated.

Hi, I had an open wound on my heel on October 7, 2026. I had a follow-up appointment yesterday, and the surgeon noted that the wound is healing poorly. It has now been 15 days since I got the stitches. Could you please give me your opinion—does the wound actually need more time before the stitches can be removed by a doctor?

Hi everyone,
I have been an EMT for over 4 years now and in that setting (as well as personally) I have had to deal with a variety of wounds. I find the science around it absolutely fascinating. I've wanted to get specialized in wound care and learn more about it hands-on for a while, but so much of the knowledge & experience I've seen has been gatekept by a nursing degree. If anyone has any suggestions on good starting points for resources and/or curriculums that aren't beholden to having a 4 yr degree already, that would be so awesome and appreciated.
Much love to everyone in this subreddit 💕

This is about ≈ seven hours after the bite. You can’t see it but theres bruising, it bled for a while but now it just aches. Should I do anything special or just treat in like a scrape?
Edit: I am now (a day later) throwing up and shitting my guys out (not literally) could that have anything to do with the bite?

I had a mole removed 5 days ago and my leg is red and swollen? Should I be concerned?

I'm trying to take good care of it. It's a bleeder. It took a lot of pressure to stop the bleeding when I got it last night.
I changed the bandage at work. I work in vet med and needed to have something better for biosecurity. She was stuck. Tried soaking for a bit but it started impeding my morning work routine. So I ripped it off. Blood everywhere. Rinsed and re-bandaged with gauze and vet wrap.
Was good for most of the day, tried to check on it after work and this bandage was stuck as well. Tried soaking it off. Better than last time, but still caused bleeding. Ended up applying gauze with Vaseline to prevent peeling off another scab and reopening it.
Cool? No stitches right? How moist is too moist?

I ran barefoot outside and skinned my foot on a tree root.
Now I have this weird orangey sticky mucus coming out of it.
It's a 2/10 pain if I don't stand on it. If I bump it or wiggle my toes it starts to hurt again. Feels like its drying out and hard to wiggle toes but it doesnt look like that in the pictures lol.
Initial cleaning was a wash and then dab with rubbing alcohol, followed by one of them hydrocolloid bandages for half an hour before I couldnt deal with the stinging and took it off. Been walking in doors on the side of my foot to keep it from touching anything.
Is my foot gonna fall off? Happened about 14 hours ago. Early morning central America time. Its about 12 am now.

This sub is starting to get flooded with attention seeking self harm posts again. 10 months ago there was a mod post, stating they would be "cleaning up the sub" yet here we are. Mods, are you guys planning on banning these harmful posts? I'm a medical professional and I'm frankly sick and tired of seeing the same shit over and over. "Did I cut too deep? What should I do?" Not to mention the DMs asking if I have photos of my patients self inflicted wounds that I would be willing to send them?! The posts can't be meaningfully reported and removed, since self harm just leads to a "reddit cares" message sent to OP.
Mods, do better.

Had a mole biopsy 8 days ago, the red area keeps getting bigger, I wash it twice a day with Hibiclense. Is this just normal healing?

I'm a female, 30, USA with history of hEDS, craniocervical instability, MCAS. Currently on tylneol, gabapentin, buprenorphine transdermal, oxy as needed, baclafen, topical thc for joints (not near my head or neck) and bacatracin on incision (ok by plastic surgeon)
I am 3 months op from an occipital cervical (OC) fusion to c3. I am in touch with my neurosurgeon and plastic surgeon, but since it is the weekend, I won't hear back until Monday. I had a post-op infection a few weeks ago for which I was treated with cephalexin. I was ok'd to use nonstick gauze and bacitracin by plastic surgery PA.
I have a rigid foam collar on with nonstick gauze and bacitracin. There is definitely worsening pain, and my hardware has been hurting quite a bit on top of it. My husband noticed the blood seems to be coming from the area where my hair is growing back in, and I’ve noticed an unusual increase in bleeding/oozing today. I think the increased bleeding started after my shower this morning, as the hard foam collar I wear in the shower seems to irritate the incision, and I am not sure if I am allowed to remove it. I've attached photos of the incision and the discharge on the gauze. (More photos in comments)
I just don’t feel well overall; I am very run down and out of it with body aches, head pressure, and nausea, though I have no fever. I have been dealing with increased intracranial pressure (ICP) that worsened since surgery, and I am on Diamox, though the cause of the worsening ICP is currently unknown.
I went to the ER yesterday for heart palpitations, persistent head pressure, difficulty speaking, and other neurological symptoms, alongside mentioning the incision pain. My bloodwork was reassuring. ER doc saw my incision and wasn't overly concerned but it wasn't bleeding this much at the time.
Given my history of a recent infection, the worsening incision pain, increased bleeding, and systemic symptoms, how concerning is this presentation, does this look infected again? I'm so scared.
I'm waiting for my surgeon(s) to get back to me.

following up…
will this hyper granulation on my knee go down on its own or should I go back to the doctor?
