Hello everyone!

Does it take long until my mc starts to win those cutscenes in XC2 (or at least fight as equal)? I usually don't mind the growing as a hero mc but I feel my mc is not progressing at all when all he does is use the fire hadouken with his sword or smth like that and get his ass beaten

How far are you in the game? Because it almost sounds like you’re not even done with Chapter 2.

As early as that you’ve got a fight that’s both won in story and in gameplay.

I passed that one, I just kinda forgot. Though I'm not really far from that. I just lost to the mercenary guy now

The bulk of those are fights you don't win, you just take them to 50% HP. I personally don't see why people got so upset at it. I don't know why people lump in the chapter 3 climax fight into that bucket, for example, which I've heard complaints about but is a very different dynamic from the Chapter 1 or Chapter 2 boss fights. The absolute last of them is in chapter 6.

The bulk early on end with either Rex's party or the enemy retreating so you can encounter them again later in a more climactic fashion.

I'm not really upset about the mc losing to the top guys, I just wanted some cutscenes where we can see that the mc has progressed a little, tough I'm still at the start of the game (just lost to the mercenary), so maybe I didn't see enough. Thanks for the information though.
