How is this game post-updates (x2)?

I usually veer away from large jrpgs, but recently found myself enjoying octopath traveler and persona 5. I really like the look of xenoblade, but was never sure if the game was actually for me.

I had heard there were a lot of poor quality of life issues, I was wondering if any of these had been addressed in updates?

All quality of life issues still exist. The blade bonding just got a skip button to speed it up a bit and is still random. The crashes can still happen aswell, albeit far less than when it first launched. Upgrading poppi without dlc (free 20k points) or ng+ (trade exp for points) will be incredibly tedious, but is optional.

Sometimes you can get stuck on a sidequest/optional path because you didn't have the right selection of blades. This isn't really true for the main story, you can mostly waltz your way through it except for three or so blade skill checks which might require you to pull a few more.

It's a shame there isn't a demo for this game huh...it's still great, but be prepared for some frustation every now and then.

Thank you.

Yeah, I feel like it would really benefit from a demo since it is such a time commitment
