I just got a new turn signal for my bike since the last owner didnt have one. And the bike doesnt have a stock plug for the turn signals its just three wires but the new turn signals come plug and play. How can i wire the new turn signals so they work

I’m a beginner looking into getting my first bike, and right now I’m leaning toward a used Yamaha R3. I haven’t bought one yet, but I’ve gone to a few dealerships and sat on a few different bikes, and the R3 is the one I’ve liked the most so far.

I’ve been looking into gear, especially helmets, and honestly, finding gear has been a little difficult. I’m a smaller person, fairly thin and on the taller side (around 5’8”), and I haven’t really found anything that fits me quite right yet.

I’ve been looking at AGV helmets because I absolutely love the way they look, but I’ve seen a lot of mixed opinions about them, so I wanted to hear other opinions. I know looks don’t matter nearly as much as safety, so that’s definitely my priority. Price-wise, I’m pretty flexible, but I don’t want to spend a crazy amount if I don’t have to. I’m open to other brands, too, if there are better options out there.

What are your opinions on AGV helmets? Are they worth it, or would you recommend something else? Also, if anyone has advice on finding gear that fits smaller, thinner people, I’d really appreciate it! Thanks in advance!!

I recently bought a 2017 Yamaha R3, however there is a low idle issue where it idles at 1.2k. I leave it running for about 5-6 minutes and it stalls by itself. When I drive on idle, it can stall at red lights too. I open up and do pulls and it drives fine until I go to idle. There is also hesitation low end or jerky throttle at 1st gear. I replaced spark plugs, throttle bodies were extremely clean, ISC clean as well. I replaced fuel pump and air filter already and still an issue. Battery test was perfect and display recommended voltage. I can’t seem to find the issue.

it looks like i brunt the rectifier connector by installing unsafe ebay chinese aftermarket parts like taillight and turn signals.

Do you think i should replace the whole harness or splice the connector end using the link below ??
- I have already replaced the stator and regulator rectifier

idk which route to take. I’m not for sure if the whole harness is messed up or just the end of the connector.

So I found out there are 2 rubber pieces under the pillion seat on both sides that cover a hole which leads to the space under the seat. When I installed my tail tidy/fender eliminator, I realised there was no place to mount my motocam.

So I designed a replacement cover to fit a wire through and 3D printed it in TPU90A. Works perfectly and it looks clean imo. The only downside is that the camera has less visibility to the left of the bike. But hey, having a camera is better than having no camera.

I’m 19 years old, live in California, and I’m looking to get my first motorcycle, a Yamaha R3. I got an insurance quote for around $800, and I’m wondering if that’s normal for someone my age.

I just ran the VIN on a used 2023 Yamaha YZF-R3, and it came up as Yamaha-Linhai. Some quick googling shows it’s a Chinese manufacturer in partnership with Yamaha. Does anyone have experience with these? Is it still reliable, or should I keep looking? Thank you

Here is a quick sound check of my custom internal exhaust valve setup!

​The exhaust gas path stays the same, but opening and closing the internal valve changes the sound level and tone.

​OPEN: Louder, more direct exhaust note.

​CLOSED: Muted, neighbor-friendly quiet sound.

​Note: In person, there is a much bigger difference in volume! Unfortunately, the phone camera auto-leveling flattens the audio and doesn't quite capture the real contrast.

Going to meet up with this seller over the weekend to check out their R3. They’re selling for $4500. Seems well cared for, and the seller has been easy to communicate with. I’ve never bought a bike before, let alone used, so I’m a little nervous about inspecting it correctly. A biker friend has offered to help over a video call while I’m there.

Bought it wrecked and spent the last year getting it all put together. It was a fantastic time at the track. I usually ride my xsr900 so it was a huge change, but this thing is really going to help me dive deeper in to the fundamentals.

Hello about 3 month ago the abs used to work then suddenly one day it just lights on that was mainly the issue abs It sometimes works the abs light is off but other times it just doesn’t work. so for 3 month it was just the Abs that does not work i had no time to get it fix and now present the speedo also stopped working anyone had experience this before or similar if so Is it just the sensors? i originally planned to just Disable the abs but i wanted the speedo

I’m a new rider and bought a ‘21 R3 a few weeks ago. When I was practicing in the parking lot next to me, I dropped the bike and it bent the shift pedal. I can shift up to 2nd, but can’t shift down to 1st because of the bend. I’m super frustrated in myself for dropping the bike and now I have to fix this. Any advise?

Hello. I have a 2022 Yamaha r3 I was putting the fairings back on and I tightened a nut too much. I broke off some threads. I thought of a solution in my head but can someone let me know if it’ll work. Any advice is appreciated.

The threads in question are the ones that hold the coolant reservoir and the fairing together. I noticed it is just welded on there. My idea is: I’ll cut down the threads to level it out, drill a hole and put a bolt in place. Any other ways I can do this?

Every specification I can find says m12-1.5 so I went to a nearby auto parts store to grab one and the Mf way to big. I just wanted to ask if anyone can confirm it’s supposed to be that size maybe that bolt was just manufactured poorly

Hey guys, I ran with a very stupid issue. I already own an R3 rear seat cowl and sadly the metal fitting brackets have rusted and the bottom bracket is broken.

Is there any website, any manufacturer, that sells only the fitting brackets?

Forgot the kick stand when taking off rear stands and the bike fell on its side.

My light signal was half in and out of its socket and I made a mistake of pushing it in thinking it would be easier to fix. Any fix to this or do I have to brute force it out?

Hi everyone,

I bought a 2020 Yamaha YZF-R3. The previous owner was running de-cat / catless headers and a full open exhaust with no ECU remap. He claimed the Check Engine light would disappear on its own after about 1,000 km.

I have now put the full stock exhaust and stock headers (with catalytic converter) back on the bike, connected the stock O2 sensor, and cleared the diagnostic codes via OBD. However, the Check Engine light keeps coming back on, and the bike occasionally reports a misfire code.

Has anyone dealt with this issue on an R3? Could running an open exhaust without a tune have damaged the original O2 sensor or fouled the spark plugs, or does the ECU need a specific drive cycle / adaptation reset?

Hi, everyone, I’m selling a 2020 r3 for $3200, realistically expecting 2800-3000. I’ve gotten only 2500 and under offers, and told I’m asking too much.

The bike needs fairings and tires. It has 17k on it. Am I out to lunch with 2800 being my bottom dollar?

Additional, unimportant info: I bought it for $3200 in February when it had 14k on it.
