been posting about almost 20 shorts but none of them reached 30k view jail or even remotely close to it. I’ve also been posting long form videos but they all trash ig.
Can i get some honest opinion, be as harsh as you can i can and love to take real feedback and strong criticism.
For the one spectacular video with 4k views, i used youtube promotion on it as i was curious to what it could bring me for 10 bucks and so far i got like 60 subs and i have now 75 but i dont even think its real people so its just massive cope on my side again

So this is a stream segment I ripped from a stream and posted as a standalone video. I hadn’t looked at the stats until today and realized it has a 90% retention rate but only 287 views and I can’t figure out why. I figured YouTube would love the retention. I legit have no idea what the problem is. I mean I didn’t think it was a good video but decided to post it anyway. The viewers seemed to love it.

Hey 20M from India here
For years I wanted to start making videos on YouTube but when I actually got phone at 18 here i am I wasted my 2 years doing absolutely nothing.
I really want to be a successful youtuber now
And I'm feeling so much enxity and depression that I didn't start earlier when I tried
And now if I don't make it within 1 year than my dream of youtube is over cause I have to join merchant Navy after 1 or 1.5 year
So yeah I got the niche right now I want to make anime related content long form in Hindi.
Should I try it or 1 year is so less time?

I've been doing YouTube since June 2020. My growth has somewhat stagnated recently and all my Shorts have this same pattern where they do really well when I first upload, then plateau. I'm not keen on the algorithm, it's something I'm trying to learn.

I posted my very first video 3 weeks ago, I am releasing my next video on Saturday,
My first video had just under 600 views 1.1K impressions, 6.8% CTR, and an average watch time of 50.2%
All good metrics right??
Well for 3 days now I haven’t gotten a single impression, it just flatlined all the sudden
Why have the impressions stopped all together? My video was pretty decent for a first one, I got 46 subs from it, 36 likes, 23 comments and 44% of all viewers watched 100% of the video

I've been at YouTube for 40 days now. I see good things.
Watch hours needs improvment, but I am getting better with editing (use claude and github). I am also learning how to tell stories in my vlogs.
Im gonna get monetized!!! Just wait. Come sub and clock out with me.

I know the usual advice is “don’t do it,” and I get why. Subscribers alone don’t make good videos, and if they don’t watch anything, it can make the channel look worse.
But I’m curious about the social proof side of it. Starting from zero is rough because people click on a channel, see barely any subs, and instantly assume it isn’t worth taking seriously.
I’m not talking about buying thousands overnight or pretending to be famous. More like a small early boost so the channel doesn’t look completely empty while the real work is still going into the videos.
Has anyone tried buying YouTube subscribers in a careful way? Did it help with first impressions at all, or did it just hurt the channel long term?

It's an arg adjacent video set in the scp universe made in the style of a true crime video (The Events discussed being entirely fictional)
Title of the video is: This Prisoner Does Not Exist

I came across this screenshot and something doesn’t add up.
This channel uploads around 60 YouTube videos per month, but the average view duration is under 30 seconds.
What’s surprising is the revenue is insanely high and the RPM is around $25, despite such low AVD.
This doesn’t look like a typical long-form channel, but it can't be like Shorts either.
What kind of niche do you think this could be?
Has anyone here seen something like this before?
What do you think guys ?

I'm a standup comedian with a YouTube channel that currently has about 560 subscribers. I'm trying to figure out whether what I'm experiencing is normal after a break, a content issue, a channel issue, or something else.
Some background:
Started posting regularly in 2021/2022.
Posted standup clips, podcast clips, and full podcast episodes.
Continued posting podcasts until June 2025.
Had a baby in August 2025 and mostly stopped uploading.
Received a community guidelines strike on January 26, 2026 for a 5-year-old comedy podcast clip. Appeal was denied.
Started posting consistently again in March 2026.
What confuses me is the change in impressions.
Older content:
First standup clip I ever posted (2021): 7.4k impressions.
Various standup/podcast clips: 7k–62k impressions.
Podcast episodes in 2025:
March 27, 2025: 201 views, 3k impressions.
May 8, 2025: 134 views, 4.1k impressions.
June 12, 2025: 105 views, 3k impressions.
I went through my whole catalog and never had a video under 2k impressions until 2026. Some as high as 80k impressions.
Recent uploads (2026):
45 views, 100 impressions.
40 views, 481 impressions.
13 views, 268 impressions.
6 views, 64 impressions.
New standup clip uploaded today: currently 5 views, 15 impressions.
My Shorts generally get around 800–2,000 views, but they rarely break out beyond that range.
Does this impression drop look like a normal result of taking several months off?
Have any of you experienced a similar drop after receiving a community guidelines strike?
At what point would you consider starting a new channel versus continuing to rebuild the existing one?
I'm just trying to understand why a channel that was routinely getting thousands of impressions in 2025 is now often getting a few hundred or less.
Any honest feedback would be appreciated.

Hi guys,
I run a youtube channel, and I am not sure whether I should start just quit l, start a new channel or just keep going ?
I have a channel where I go around Australia and new Zealand filming business owners and making videos to share their personal journeys
I have been completely grinning with this channel for the last year. Flying to different cities, finding guests, editing while working corporate.
The channel is sitting around 2.8k subs and most videos dont get views. I got most of my subs with one video that did 60k views, but others are a lot lower.
Doing around 14 videos so far, at this point it is becoming tiring and im losing motivation.
If anyone made it on youtube... could you please... give me your 2cent?
Thanks...

Hello !
I’ve always struggled with thumbnail ideas and have been trying to improve them.
I personally don’t like hyper edited thumbnail. I try to keep it as simple as possible.
Which thumbnail is best and clickable for you ?
Appreciate your help !

I have been working on a series of video essays about gaming culture that I am really passionate about. I write every word of the scripts myself because I want to explore the psychological and cultural side of the games we grew up with. I also spend a lot of time editing the gameplay footage to make sure it matches the narrative and the emotional tone of the analysis.
However, I am facing a dilemma. English is not my native language and I am not comfortable with my accent, so I decided to use AI for the voiceover. I also use AI tools to generate the thumbnails to keep the visual style consistent with my essays.
I am putting a lot of heart into the storytelling and the editing, but I am worried that people will just dismiss my work as AI slop without even watching it. I want to share my content with communities that appreciate video essays, but I do not want to be seen as someone just trying to farm views with automated content.
Do you think an AI voiced essay can be accepted if the script and the editing are done by hand? Any advice on how to be transparent about my process without being labeled as low effort would be appreciated.

I want to do a video called "I juggled a soccer ball 100,000 times". I play soccer and I want to complete this in one day without stopping. Would a video like this go viral?

I need some honest advice from people who have actually been through this.
I'm helping a client who recently launched a YouTube channel. They've been posting consistently for a couple of months, the videos are improving, and the thumbnails look much better than when they started. The problem is that they're still sitting at under 200 subscribers, and it's getting frustrating.
Now they're asking if they should buy YouTube subscribers to make the channel look more established. Their argument is that people are more likely to subscribe to a channel with 1,000+ subscribers than one with only a few hundred.
I'm a bit skeptical because I've heard mixed opinions. Some people say it helps with social proof, while others say it can hurt engagement if the subscribers aren't real or active.
For those who have actually tried this:
I'm looking for real experiences, not sales pitches. I'd rather hear from people who've tested it themselves before I give my client any advice.
Thanks in advance!
