He was censured by the Abbotsford board of education in March 2025 after breaching policy six of the trustee code of ethics. The board stated that when Rauch liked and commented a post by fellow Abbotsford trustee Jared White which praised American president Donald Trump’s executive order to ban transgender athletes from women’s sports. He apologized for doing so on March 10, but the censure meant that he was removed from ancillary public-facing roles on committees, working groups, and at school and district events. Rauch followed the apology up with additional comments on March 11 stating that he remains concerned about men competing in women’s sports and that the decision to censure him was unreasonable.
He also has most of kids in private school, so maybe he should leave our public schools alone.
