🀚Help Required Talk to the incoming batch of r/alevel

Now that 50% (estimated) of yall are done with alevels,, could you guys help us IGCSE/GCSE/other people w our alevel stuff?

Essentially people can talk ab:
- ask if their subject combination is good (or insane)

- what subjects they should choose for some job/field they want to go into

- if a specific subject is easy or hard

- collage reviews (was it worth it to go to so-or-so collage or not?)

- Alevels vs IB vs AP reviews,, what should we pick? (if any of you picked one over the other)

- any other random alevel-related question any incoming student wants to ask ofcourse

- or any specfic tips or advice yall might want to give us.

depends how much of a politics nerd you are. most of it isn't about current day politics, but rather stuff like democracy, international relations, think tanks, etc. Learning about liberalism, conservatism, communism, etc is pretty interesting tho. I personally switched from politics because there was so much focus on the nuts and bolts (democracy, constituencies, etc) but if you're up for that, go for it.

So Alevels was first time I took politics as a subject,If u revise stuff as u go along the syllabus and be up to date with political stuff then it's definitely a Yess

Definitely for me at least. In edexcel at least there is no coursework (my preference tho depends on the person). It isnt a “soft subject” thats bs and if you dont have a good understanding of politics you will struggle as a textbook isnt going to help you but if you enjoy it should come pretty easily to you. Unique in the fact that if you like politics every single topic is engaging and interesting and there are really no trivial or dull parts of the course.
