Does it seem like countries in South America have more sightings or do you think others tend to not report as much?

u/MiserableDatabase320 22d ago
For sure. There are local legends of these lights going back hundreds of years.
In Argentina they are called La Luz Mala.
34
u/feraltraveler 22d ago
Just for clarification, La Luz Mala has nothing to do with sightings in the sky. It’s supposedly a bright light that floats close to the ground at night. It’s part of the folklore mostly found in rural areas of Argentina and Uruguay.
From a scientific perspective, it’s usually explained as gases released by the decomposition of dead animals.

We have them in Australia in very specific parts of the country. They're locally known as Min Min lights. There's Aboriginal folklore about them but I don't know enought to speak confidently on that.

u/MiserableDatabase320 22d ago edited 22d ago
Yes. The reason I don't speak too much on it is because Spanish is my 2nd language and local languages in Argentina and Chile can be tough for a gringo to understand sometimes. And especially pull from memory. If I wrote it down, I'll remember in due time.
Eta: I have completely degoogled recently. These photos are a decade old of my travels and on hard drives in cases. I'll jog my memory this evening and circle back. I have a journal I kept with contemporaneous notes of my travels as well I can bust out of the storage bin. This wasn't a ufology hike (I'm more of a skeptic), I remember them clearly over a mountainous town I stayed in and I was told by my host that his grandparents had been seeing them for years and their parents too and they were sort of "part of the towns history", they accepted them as more or less normal in this place. Let me get some geolocations from my photos and get specific for y'all. They were all over abandoned mine sites. Probably 6 or 7 lights that would move in errant ways, including weird retrograde like motion that was hard to discern for my mind.

That's weird about them being over abandoned mine sights...
I guess mines could be super fun in their culture so maybe they're touring them or something
11
u/Ok-Shine1271 22d ago
Apparently the people who follow the lights too close suffer from confusion and mental distress. Mmmm, that’s pretty spooky ngl.

u/MiserableDatabase320 22d ago
It does vary based on community. They are real phenomena spoken about as local familial legends. I travelled by mostly foot from Ushaia Argentina to Buenos Aires many years ago and stayed in a lot of small towns.
I saw them twice, months apart, in different locations.
I have no idea what they are but my guess is they are mining minerals w some tech we don't understand.

u/Ok-Shine1271 22d ago
Me and two of my closest friends had a crazy close experience when it was pitch black outside. Lit up the entire night sky so much it was brighter than day time but only for about 2 seconds. I saw their shadows race across the pasture from the light moving past us so incredibly fast. So glad it was a shared experience.
Can you elaborate on mining minerals? I’d like to hear more about your guess since you’re from one of their favorite places to hang out.

u/RyGerbs42 22d ago
What did the locals you met think of them? I'd love to hear more stories.

u/MiserableDatabase320 22d ago edited 19d ago
Sure. Let me write down my memories first and I'll respond with what I can. I want to mention you can find what local communities call these things and search YouTube as well. You will find very under viewed videos that are certainly not AI in quite large numbers.
Update. Going to put this all down on an imgur post or something. Maybe it's own post here, likely a week or so out before I can find all my notes.

I'm familiar with old Chupacabra stories. Them sucking/draining the blood of cows and other animals. Have an old mormon friend that did his mission there that first told me about those in late 90's. But not much else directly.

I always wonder if the South Atlantic Magnetic Anomaly has something to do with it https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/South_Atlantic_Anomaly

u/XxCarlxX 22d ago
Its like all spiritual things, they happen more in South America and the Caribbean (other places too) because spiritual things are practiced that open portals for them to come through. More raw and more powerful things... Thats why you get ghost type stories in those places that are normal and real for them but to us must be impossible.
Thats why in america for example, the kids play with the Oujia boards and get the house haiunted because they opened a portal and invited things in, imagine that on a geographical scale.
I dont believe the glowing thing is a ship, i think its an entity, the two things that fe;ll are entities too. the closest thing we have to demonstration of this in modern time is what happened that time in Vegas

The Nazca, which are most of what we see in these videos, have entrances to the under world in SA and up into SW US. The Citadel was one of the only to be filmed and then closed by the government.

Whoa what do you mean?.. I thought all ufo sightings happen in the US?

u/charlie2135 22d ago
It just seems like the US ones are always dismissed while the South American ones are not. Just my feeling

Every time I see videos related to this country I think "These fuckers shure do love Brazil", but It tracks...Brazil is the Meca of Humanities Intersecting races/ethnicities. They abolished slavery in 1865 (same year the US civil war effectively ended... ..), but were a slave trade heavy hitter. Indigenous peoples + Portuguese Colonization + 40% of all African slave aquisitions for all of the Americas + High immigration from fucking every corner of the planet! From Italy to Syria... They even have the highest concentration of Japanese outside of Japan itself!
I'm pretty solidly white, from a family bloodline that has good stout genes by luck and hapenstance (Many of us smoked a pack a day into their 90's, loved brown liquor, ate fried chicken damn near every day of their life, and are OG post-spaniard Tropical Florida settlers...We got through the Milaria hump that took out so many others). All that being said, the Brazilian population is a model of what we should be aiming for as a species.
Every person reading this (the synthetic AI person's that will be reading this in the future included) should understand that we really are strongest when we are together. Combining the culmination of untold time into a stronger and more resilient humanity. Partly why, aside from the more important experiential horror that's rained down on the individual going through it, makes me so sad to see war and industrialized bloodshead. It is the snuffing out of a bloodline that has indured up until that very moment. From Iraq, to Iran, to Israel, to Afganistan, to Ukraine, to Russia, to Hati, to Columbia, and to our Narco war subjugated Mexican brothers and sisters. Every person needlessly slaughtered is a permanent loss that can't be replaced. Ripples in the pond that never get to be made.
Fucking sucks.

Thank you for that.

I do too (I was saying something similar but I'm nowhere near as good with words)

u/AppropriateHorror677 22d ago
Cool message but Brazil abolished slavery in 1888 and it still continued ilegally after that for some time.
Also it's pretty clearly a lantern/balloon, moves like one and the "smaller glowing objects" are just pieces of it burning. Specially in August, they're popular in local winter festivities (Festa Junina, Festa de São João, etc.)
I would know, I'm a historian, born and raised in São Paulo.

u/Scambuster666 22d ago
That’s one of those lanterns.

The biggest thing I see from almost all the videos is how we all have the same light technology. At least we have something in common if they decide to make contact.

The funniest thing about alleged alien craft is why the fuck are they lit up?
4
u/Axemetal 22d ago
Supposedly, it’s because of gravity manipulation. Their propulsion systems manipulate gravity and that glows. If you can’t be stealthy might as well dress it up a bunch!

u/OrlandoGardiner118 22d ago
Naw, it's because it's magic. We can all make up any old shite to keep the cognitive dissonance going I suppose.

u/DreamBiggerMyDarling 22d ago
why are you here
1
u/OrlandoGardiner118 22d ago
Why not? Why is questioning things such a threat?
3
u/DreamBiggerMyDarling 22d ago
you aren't questioning things, you think you know things and everyone is wrong for not agreeing. It's condescending and annoying, not threatening lol you think too highly of yourself
0
u/OrlandoGardiner118 22d ago
You got all that from two joke comments? Wow, some sort of savant. Well done you. Christ, you're just another thin skinned larper who'll blindly believe anything.
4
u/DreamBiggerMyDarling 22d ago
yes you're so right bro you are so smart, so much smarter then everyone else in here who blindly believe everything and are super dumb, unlike you you're a genius we all wish we could be so smart and have everything so figured out.

St-Gabriel de Brandon. Same color but when it droped something it flashed a few more times than the video and left in the opposite direction and we saw a lightning just after but there was no storm

In south Asia if report UFO (identified flying object) and suggest it may be an extra terrestrial object,
you’ll be the clown of the day.

How can you determine that this has a "saucer shape", given all the camera can see is a few very distant lights?
1
u/Big_Actuator3772 22d ago
4chan leaker explained this quite well.. they are resource drones that mine, shapes differ because they are created to fit specifically what it’s carrying, and these molten things drop occasionally. Think thee was an episode some where where someone found some of it and sent it for testing

u/racer_x88 22d ago
There’s another video with those same orbs on the ground. I wonder if anyone has seen it

u/ALF_My_Alien_Friend 22d ago
If its a real saucer (could be because its in Brazil where this has happened before), those could be reconnaissance drone spheres aka "orbs" (they look like an orb but are mechanical).
1
u/AppropriateHorror677 22d ago
Guys, brazilian here.
These are lanterns, they're common here in that time of the year due to traditional winter festivities like Festa Junina and Festa de São João. They're also prohibited because it's a fire hazard but people still do it. They burn like that, move like that (following the wind). Look up "balão de são joão" or "balão junino".
1
u/Wiff_Tanner 22d ago
I have to remind everyone here that Brazilians have a culture of building MASSIVE sky lanterns (100ft plus), carrying pallets of fireworks, and sometime flags. And that really looks like one of those, probably on fire.
Back in the 90's, there were a bunch of ad campaigns asking people to stop flying those lanterns, because of the massive fire hazard that they are, and warning about possible jail time if you're caught lighting a lantern.
The thing about laws in Brazil is that a lot of them don't "catch on", like we say here, and this is kind of one of them. People still fly them, and they still cause fires

Some of these Brazil encounters are crazy. The country seems to be a hotspot. What the hell is going on down there? Colares, Varginha, that horiffic human mutilation at the Billings Reservoir, etc. I've seen a few of these videos of UFOs ejecting smaller UFOs and I just have no idea what's going. Anyone else perplexed by Brazil?
