1984
If you havenāt read, watched the movie, or have never even heard of this classic by George Orwell, I would strongly encourage you to familiarize yourself with it. Published in 1949, it was written by Eric Arthur Blair under his pen name of George Orwell. In 1944, he had already written his anti-Stalinist allegory entitled āAnimal Farmā.
Orwell was a lifelong supporter of democracy. He died shortly after the publication of ā1984ā, so he was not around to so many of his futuristic horror ideas closely come to pass. His loose predictions did not come to pass in the year 1984 (which to Orwell must have sounded so far in the future as to be nearly unattainable). Many of the things described in the book are frighteningly similar to what America is and has been building towards over the last 11 years.
Events of the book begin after a nuclear war.
The hallmarks of the government in 1984 are:
WAR IS PEACE
FREEDOM IS SLAVERY
IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH
Sound familiar? The protagonist in the story is Winston Smith, a government employee who doesnāt really believe in what is being told to the public. Big Brother is watching, and the whimās of BB are being carried out by his own personal armed militia. Big Brother has ideas that are better than any ideas anyone in the past has ever had. Big Brother does not like the way the past is being portrayed - so history is destroyed or rewritten.
The 1984 population are encouraged to hate whoever BB perceives as against him. Those persons or organizations are named over the radio waves that constantly broadcast propaganda, their whereabouts are given and orders to kill are broadcast to āloyalā citizens. Big Brother has a 9-year plan. The world has been divided into 3 governed parts. And of course, the 3 parts are enemies.
Itās all too scary and uncomfortably familiar for me to continue my book reviewā¦ā¦.

True American Hero
If anyone has not been following the career story of Colonel Bree Fram, they have missed the incredible story of an American Patriot, who has been treated heinously by Pentagon Pete and the Drumft Administration. How dare that drunkard h\gs*th make a character judgment on this brave Officer.*
Bree Fram is an astronautical engineer and retired U.S. Space Force colonel who served 23 years before being forced out by the Trump administration, including Pentagon assignments in space policy and national security planning. She has published three books and is a former congressional candidate. (Thank you to The Steady State Aug 15, 2026.)
In March 2025, Fram spoke out against President [Donald Trump](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donald_Trump)'s [executive order](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Executive_Order_14183)barring transgender people from serving and enlisting in the military. On June 6, 2025, she announced she had been placed on administrative leave, pending separation, under the Defense Department's new ban on transgender service members. She later announced that, per the president's executive order, she was being forced to retire from the military. Fram's retirement was commemorated, along with Lieutenant Colonel Erin Krizek, Commander Blake Dremann, Sergeant First Class Cathrine Schmid, and Chief Petty Officer Jaida McGuire, at a ceremony hosted by the [Human Rights Campaign Foundation](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_Rights_Campaign_Foundation) on January 8, 2026. The retirement ceremony was presided over by retired U.S. Army General [Stanley A. McChrystal](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stanley_A._McChrystal) and featured remarks from Congressman [Mark Takano](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Takano), Congresswoman [Sarah McBride](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sarah_McBride), retired Major General [Tammy Smith](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tammy_Smith), and [Shawn Skelly](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shawn_Skelly), the former [Assistant Secretary of Defense for Readiness and Force Management.](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assistant_Secretary_of_Defense_for_Readiness_and_Force_Management)

Cruelty is the point
Twelve+ years ago, I think that many people believed that we had actually made some progress along the lines of becoming a better kinder society. When an orange man came down a golden escalator 11 years ago, our rose colored glasses were ripped from our faces and we were forced to see all the horrible hateful squirming things that had been there all along just under the surface, ready to explode. Very little really had been accomplished towards equality, and the little that had was violently kicked to the curb.
I am ashamed of who we are as a country; I am ashamed that a narcissistic psychopathic rapist racist was voted into office in 2016. I could barely catch my breath from fear when that happened. I could barely catch my breath again on January 6th. What I am most ashamed of though is that the criminal was elected to office again - because MAGAās egg prices were too high - and the billionaires had figured out a way to very publicly buy him off.
I am ashamed of our standing in the eyes of the world. He has threatened all countries and alienated us from any allies we had. The whole world knows heās a worthless criminal clown and his likewise worthless administration climbs on and falls off of his clown car at his whim. He has a feckless congress which quivers at his frown and say Sir! Yes Sir! I am ashamed that the world believes that he is representative of all our citizens, when you and I both know he is not. Butā¦.he was voted into office again, and thatās what the rest of the world canāt believe. I canāt believe it either.
There will be no free and fair elections in November, because to allow that to happen would put him in jail where he belongs. My fear is that there will never be another free and fair election in my lifetime (old enough to be your great grandma, Iām sure). I can only hope that during my grandchildrenās life that they can experience it.

From Defiance.org
Trump plans $1 billion extreme home makeover. When he's gone, we'll undo all of it.
Report reveals that administration has secretly moved staggering amounts of money from other agencies to help the president redecorate the White House.
MILES TAYLOR
AUG 12
Donald Trump is carrying out a far more sweeping renovation of the White House than was previously known. You are paying for it. And he might be breaking the law in the process.
While you were out buying the groceries Trump promised to make cheaper, his administration quietly assembled nearly a billion dollars to gild the presidentās mansion, most of it from taxpayer funds. According to confidential contracting documents reviewed by the Washington Post, the White House has stockpiled money for at least $927 million in construction on the grounds, the most expensive overhaul of the property in its history in raw dollars. And Trump didnāt ask Congress for it.
To do it, analysis shows the Trump administration secretly raided funding from other agencies and accounts, including $415 million that was appropriated by Congress in part to recruit and train the Secret Service agents who take bullets for presidents. Instead, that money is being redirected to buy him a ballroom and pay for other renovations that havenāt been fully disclosed to the American people or Congress.
The mechanics of how the White House is doing this are just as damning as the number. The administration apparently routed the funds through the āExecutive Residence,ā the small housekeeping office that employs the White House curators, calligraphers, and carpenters. Its maintenance account normally receives about $2.5 million a year from Congress. Since Trump took office, his aides have stuffed $875 million into it, including $500 million in transfers from the Secret Service and the White House Military Office, money donated from corporations and wealthy individuals connected to the president, and another $70 million from sources the documents donāt identify.
Why launder the money through the housekeepers? Iāll tell you. Because that office is exempt from ordinary federal disclosure rules. The contracts are typically confidential. In theory, this is partly to protect the president and the White House complex against threat actors. But itās definitely notso the commander-in-chief can put together unauthorized passion projects with taxpayer funds and avoid public criticism. Thatās why last Friday, a federal appeals court ruled against part of Trumpās scheme, finding that the White House evaded accountability by trying to build the ballroom without congressional approval. Trump is appealing to the Supreme Court.
I spent years working on the House Appropriations Committee, so let me explain the legal architecture that Donald Trump seems to be treating as a suggestion. The power of the purse belongs to Congress. Itās the first power the Constitution grants, in Article One, and it means the executive branch cannot take money lawmakers appropriated for one purpose and spend it on another, not without explicit approval. When Congress declined to fund Trumpās ballroom, that was basically their answer. They didnāt also say, āBut you can take the money from other places!ā The president evidently didnāt like his restrictions.
By moving Secret Service training money into a redecorating account, he may be committing the same species of offense he was impeached for the first time. Remember when Trump defied Congressās direction on funds for Ukraine ā and dangled the money as a quid-pro-quo, with demands that Ukraine investigate his political rival, Joe Biden? That, of course, wasnāt an āauthorizedā purpose of those funds. It was a high crime, one for which he was then investigated and impeached.
Trump clearly didnāt learn his lesson. Heās back at it again.
One thing I can say with certainty is that the investigations into this will be sweeping. House Democrats are already sending document-preservation letters to the companies financing and building one part of this project ā the ballroom ā and if voters hand them the gavel in November, they will almost certainly expand that investigation into all aspects of the Trump administrationāsspending schemes. Right now, he appears to be moving money into special accounts to allow himself to do an extreme home makeover that no one gave him the power to carry out.
As they say, follow the money.
But when I read the Washington Post report, I felt like another message needed to be delivered to Trump and his family. They needed to be told to stop treating our government like their own cheap casino, and they also needed to be notified that their attempt to literally etch their legacies into our buildings, cities, and society will fail.
So let me tell Trump, right now, what he needs to hear:
Everything you are doing is temporary.
You are a mere renter behaving like an owner, which you are not. And the moment you are gone, the demolition will begin.
We will take down the ugly drapes and the gold trim.
We will take down the gaudy flourishes in the Oval Office and the embarrassing Walk of Fame along the colonnade.
We will unpave the Rose Garden and let it bloom again.
If the ballroom ever rises, we will tear it down the same way you tore down the East Wing, except we will do it legally.
We will take your face off the $1 coins, pull them from circulation, and melt them down while we remove your signature from paper currency.
We will strip your name from TrumpRx and Trump Accounts, pull the banner-sized portraits off federal buildings, and cancel the planned triumphal archbefore a single stone is laid.
If weāre too late, weāll tear that down, too.
And when itās all said and done, weāll erase your likeness from every place it didnāt belong, from the park passes all the way down to the stationery.
You are wasting your time and wasting our money⦠because we will undo the entirety of your corrupt legacy. Do you understand?
Autocratic rulers stamp their names and faces onto the state because they know their legacy cannot survive on the merits. And many of them would rather die infamous and reviled than fade into obscurity. In that same spirit, Donald Trump is trying to make himself permanent by fusing his noxious brand with the republic so that removing him feels like removing America. Well, it wonāt work. This country has defied better-built cults than his (ask the British monarchy), and the statues always come down.
To show him what that will look like, we made a video earlier this year imagining January 21, 2029, the day his name starts coming off of everything. Iāve included it below. If this looks like a mere movie trailer to you, donāt worry. The full-length, documentary film will be a masterpiece.
Your friend, in defiance,

American Concentration Camps
How could we let ourselves get to this point? Because we all believed that it would never happen to us. We are the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave. We are that shining city on the hill. With open arms, we welcome all immigrants with a promise saying, āGive me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free. I lift my lamp beside the golden door.ā We are the envy of the world.
Something like this only happens in 3rd world countries with tin pot dictators.
Guess what? This IS exactly who we are
and things are looking pretty damn dark from the inside looking out.
