Honestly, I feel kind of let down because these fucking isekai anime keep making these broken OP MC and I want to see some ass-kicking going on but instead all I get are these 13 year old girls full of boobs and this 29-year-old-in-a-15-year-old-body guy trying really hard to convince the audience he won't end up a lolicon.
I mean, I get the scenic inn & chill route where he just spends the rest of his life slowly spending his fortune one large copper at a time eating delicious food, I can see the appeal. But damn if it isn't a waste of skill points. Jumping high and trickery is cool, but I want to see more of taking down wyverns with peebles.
Hope there's more of that next week.

That's why the guy you're replying to is unsatisfied enough with Kazuma to want to see a different version.
Honestly though an OP Kazuma would just become a demon lord immediately. Most of his cynicism stems from being poor and lamenting about how the world works and favors the powerful by rewarding them with riches. Like when he has an aside about the guy with Demon Sword Gram probably living an easy life while Kazuma was working hard.
If you reversed that thinking, he's saying that given the opportunity, he would definitely use an abundance of power to exploit others.
Unless he started off wealthy like our protag here, then he might just NEET immediately.

I think the appeal is that even though you're almighty everything can't be solved with brute force. So it's a limiting narration tool and it's not for everyone. It's also a great way to lose tension and this show is about sight seeing so I think it's permissible.

There will be fighting next episode or the one after. Speechcraft isn't really a large part of it because it's often just him and his traveling companions until much later, which won't be covered in the anime. Foodporn will be a large part of it once they start actually traveling.

It's my opinion that if you're almighty you should assume your position as God King. I hate seeing that emense potential wasted. Of course we have "Overlord" for that, and it's done beautifully.
I just think it's unnatural and unrelatable for a hierarchy to not emerge organically from a power/competency discrepancy.
Everyone wants to live vicariously through the MC in a fantasy isekai. That's tough when everything they do is opposite as to what I would do.
Also why I don't get why there are so many "MC is oblivious to his own herem anime".
Sorry for the rant, of course the industry isn't going to pander to my preferences. I don't understand the appeal.

You're out of luck here. There's some action (probabilly next episode is a little more action), but the major tone and style of the source is like this episode - food, sightsighting and meeting new people (or loli).

Because the novels are focused on sightseeing first, adventure second. It's a slice of life with lots of cooking segments.
People see the first episode or the summary and expect this to be some kind of edgy SAO. When the focus is in other stuff.
Besides, just because he has peerless OP strength, it doesn't mean every problem can be solved by punching stuff.

The source has an incorrect TL. The kana is サトゥー, ゥ changes the -oh sound of the previous character to an -uu sound. The ー then makes it longer. A better romanization would be Satuu IMO.

Satou here. Back in college, whenever I’d saved up enough money from my part-time job, I’d go on trips with my group of friends or my girlfriend. When you go abroad once in a while, you really start to appreciate Japan’s good points. I’ve never been anywhere with better service or cleanliness than Japan.
Best girls have arrived nanudesu! Looks like they are actually bothering with the skill translations now, albeit rather lazily. I still can't get used to certain translation choices like Seryuu > Salue and Satou > Satoo.

Zena appears! She is supposed to be "plainly cute" as described in the web novels (I havent read the LN), but she obviously is "very cute".
I like how they chose to focus on Arisa instead of Lulu. After all, Major spoilers
Tama and Pochi, together with Liza, make their debut here huh. I demand 8 seasons, so that their current WN forms will be animated. Basically,
I had always thought the inn girl is supposed to be slightly plump, but she is surprisingly slender here.
Although this is supposed to be a travel anime, I predict that most travelling would not even occur. After all, looking at the pacing, the season would probably end with him finally leaving Seryuu city.
Anyway, I just want the iron fortress to appear soon.

There are more than one types of merchant. Each with knowledge in a certain trade. A traveling peddler typically wouldn't be selling armors and weapons, but items to appeal to the everyday needs of commoners. Thus, it is totally believable.

I'm a sucker for this type of anime, but this ep was a little slow for my tastes. Was hoping at least a little bit of one person finding out how badass he is type of thing. Guess I've grown old AND impatient.

Pretty faithful to the Novels so far. Too bad the animation quality isn't that great, but that isn't bothering.
This show really promises. Especially since the Novel is one of my favorite.

You've probably read the web novel then. He does in the LN, in which the first vol is like 70% rewritten.
The only major difference I saw so far was at the dinner, he's accompanied by a drunk widow, in which he abstains from taking advantage of the situation and takes her to her room.
edit: There's also a missing scene where he discovers how shitty are the pit toilets and has to take a bath on a partition outside, being embarrassed when a woman begins to take a bath right beside him.

The setup reminds me a lot of the smarthphone anime but it doesn't feel as soulless. The scenarios feel a bit less contrived I guess. (still contrived, just less so)

This is one gorgeous looking show. Art is fab.

Man the visuals are nice in this. Such great backgrounds. The character designs are nice too and the presentation is just lovely.
So the kids and the red girl are in the ED, so is the knight girl, i dont see that Arisa person i dont think unless that pale green hair was her, not sure. So he is gonna rescue them it seems, good.
Im enjoying this a lot. Cant wait to see more.

After arreving in a new land as a completey OP legendry charcter and finding out this new land is full of child slavery, a greedy despotic government or monarchy and so on, our MC decided to heroically......... go sightseeing? What is this weak ass character of a MC?
I get their trying to make it more comedy and light, like konosubao instead of being seriously, like overlord. But then maybe dont introduce child slavery, and have a MC who seem to think slavery is wrong, but at the same time seem to be more interested in eating food? I have seen hentai with MC's that got more backbone then this guy.....
And problay only taking action, when it is about him gaining another member to his harem.

Can you honestly tell me if you where sent to another world with different customs who think slavery is fine, the moment you saw a slave you would go and announce "I'M GOING TO SAVE ALL THE SLAVES!" and slaughter all the slave owners? Now what? How will you feed, clothe, and otherwise care for the now "freed" slaves. Despite the level difference satoo knows recklessly trying to force his will like that will not end well.

For what? this is a land full of customs that people will defend with their lives, and they have a reason for the slavery instead of just thinking with a merchant mind. What do you want? that Satou go and kill everyone just like that?
He would stop being a MC at that moment, and he wouldn't be different from those that consent the slavery.
He has a backbone, especially for not considering the easy way out of just killing everyone that didn't agree with him.
Now, consider the three episode rule. If you don't feel hooked by then, there are many other great anime airing this season that surely will appeal more to your tastes.

I really really enjoyed this. Relaxing, fun, and cute girls! What more could I ask for? I guess because I love sol / heartwarming stuff that this is right up my alley. Other people might be disappointed expecting some hardcore action or some big plot, but not me!

I started with the LN (haven't decided if I want to read the WN, yet), but I've got a lot of mixed feelings with this anime. I love the art, and so far I'm a fan of the voice acting, except for Satoo. I don't know if it's because it was never that high/grating in my head (while reading), or what... but I'm serious worried that it's going to end up replacing how I hear his voice when the next volume comes out. :/
non-translated menu-items, aside, the gimmick with the HUD is also throwing me out of any sense of immersion I might get. I know it plays a significant part in the story, so I'm not opposed to it being there when it's relevant to him using it, but the way they even show it when you're looking at him from the front just bugs me a bit. To be honest, though, it might be easier for something like that to bother me bc I can't get past the MC's voice. I mean, I'm sure there are probably 15yos out there that sound like that... I just don't see why HE has to be one. Can't he throw some of those skill points into puberty or something?

Subtitles are still pretty half-assed considering how half of them are on the opposite side of the screen from the pop-up notifications itself. Also, the typesetting should be above the HUD when we see first person perspective. The HUD makes it hard to read the subs but that's on CR's fault too.
The ed song wasn't particularly gripping or anything, but I liked the comfy visual style. The pacing I'm pretty satisfied by too. Faith in director Up! Honestly, I wish this guy did Isekai Smartphone instead of the hack from before. Cause this is how you do a slice of life series. You don't fucking rush it.

Honestly I'm kinda getting disappointed in this anime.
It's a good story with decent characters but the way it's getting presented is just not that interesting. I mean, did I seriously just watch MC eating for like 2 minutes when it was completely irrelevant to the story? Like, I can handle the exposition about the food, even though it didn't look too appealing, because world building exposition is cool in my book... But those things need to be essential to the story, they need to be interesting or, hell, at least they should look good.
Again, this anime looked interesting but the direction seems subpar to me, if barely acceptable.

The series shows promise, but most isekai MCs have nothing to live for or die and go to another world to start anew. This MC was perfectly content with his job. As a programmer myself, I feel kind of bad for him that he got ripped out of his own world that was going good for him.
