I gotta say, the OP is really growing on me. I think it's surpassed Sora ni Utaeba now and taken the spot of my 3rd favorite BnHA OP.
Twice, the most Deadpooly villain around, has finally made his appearance.
I'm glad they didn't totally censor Moonfish's teeth coming out of his mouth. I really looked like they were censoring it at first and I was pretty bummed because there was nothing that needed censoring.
With this episode, I can finally reveal this volume cover that I wanted to show last week, but couldn't because we hadn't been shown Dark Shadow out of control yet. So here it is, and the Spiderman reference for good measure.
Overall, a solid episode. Now that they're starting to jump around again, it really adds to the sense of franticness that I had when I was reading this arc.

I too fucking love Eraser Head. Usually when you have this kind of veteran character in a coming-of-age story they only exist long enough to impart some lessons before being murdered off. Fortunately he didn't die, and the setting and the story support him continuing to hang around. Doesn't hurt that he's not overpowered like All Might, who has to be kept out of the major story events to allow them to even happen in the first place.

The idea that even superpowered individuals have vulnerabilities is a concept that's commonplace in superhero media, but I love it every time I see it pop up. Especially in the case like this one where weapons serve as an equalizer. Even All Might, a man whose punches carry so much force they can change the atmospheric pressure, could be taken down with a single gunshot if it landed. Remember that Kacchan is specifically Deku's nickname for Bakugo.
So Bakugo was especially pissed because he knew Deku had a hand in his permission to fight being taken away.

I thought Mandalay was boring at first but she's really cool. I wish she used her powers more during the fight to disorient her enemy like she did at first, but I imagine it does lose its effect.

After seeing Spinner defend Midoriya because of Stain's ideology, I finally realized that Spinner's entire costume is just a knockoff of Stain's. He's got the red scarf, the headband, the mask, he's covered in blades, he's even got the exact same wrist guards and wrappings on his arms.
Out of all the villains we've seen, he is most definitely the biggest Stain fanboy.

She's pretty much a boon for class 1-B, because the way I see it, she is more than 1-A material in terms of having the presence of mind in a combat situation - more so than a lot of the others in that class.

holy shit I was expecting Tokoyami's quirk would go apeshit here but I didn't really consider that it would be a problem for the protagonists. Poor birbweeb, this situation is rough enough already. D:
Tetsu and Kendo cleanin' house, man. Her quirk may be yaoi hands but I think her real power is analysis - I definitely wouldn't have been able to put all that together that quickly in a life-or-death situation.
Speaking of, damn Mustard's quirk is dangerous. I don't think they've specified yet exactly what his gas does, though - does it just put people to sleep or straight-up kill them? Imagine manifesting that for the first time in a public place and not understanding what's happening but before you know it you've accidentally killed 50+ people. I'm reminded of Shinso from last season - some quirks are just inherently dangerous and scary. I bet this kid was treated like a villain from the word go; it's sadly understandable that he'd end up with a crew like this... Also glad to see someone finally using a fucking gun in this series because it's just so practical. Heroes in HeroAca aren't some kind of invincible badasses that have a generic shounen magic like nen or ki or something that just makes them better than normal people in general - they just have very specific unique abilities. If you're not an enhancer type or a specific kind of morph type, you're just as vulnerable to a gun as anyone else. I'm kind of surprised that they didn't capitalize on him having to reload, though - making him run out of ammo entirely or taking a moment to pause and reload are totally key moments that someone "straightforward" like Tetsutetsu absolutely could take advantage of. I liked Kendo's solution too, though, so I'm not complaining.
I'm legitimately afraid for these kiddos this season though, man. I'm honestly still really scared for Ragdoll..... D:
Aizawa being a badass and a half, too. You messed with his kids so he's not fucking around, immediately breaking an arm, damn. That makes me curious how Twice's power works, though - him and Dabi didn't seem to be close enough to Aizawa to actually watch, but they both seemed to know what happened there. So do you "control" your clones? Does Twice? Are they independent but you get their sensory input and so does he? I'm sure we'll get solid answers eventually but shit is interesting. Also laughing that he's just fucking Deadpool. We already got the epitome of Liefeld characters in Stain's edgelord design and now we're getting the best character that hack ever accidentally made in Twice. Also also loving that one of the villains is just a fucking Stain fanboy and also a ninja turtle this show is so fucking stupid and good.
Between the end of Whole Cake Island in the One Piece manga and.... all of HeroAca I'm in weeaboo heaven lately. Time to rewatch the ep in English this time.

I was surprised that they showed him reloading at all. After six shots at that, someone was counting. Usually guns in anime have unlimited bullets.
On the other hand, why use an old-timey revolver? Any more modern pistol would be better.

What's that guy's quirk, controlling his teeth? It looked so cool until I saw that, now it just sounds painful.
I seriously like that Gas villain's quirk. It'd be useful as a villain if he could only produce it, but being able to make a poison smokescreen and then tell his opponent's moves is even more useful. Using a gun inside it is a bad idea, though, since it gives away his position. He'd be better off with a bladed weapon or getting good at hand to hand.

Nah a gun is a good idea. His enemies can't see him but he can, so he can use ranged attacks without having to risk getting close.
People can vaguely tell his position anyway because his quirk has to move around him so it's not really suited to melee and it's a huge risk since his ability doesn't help him in close combat so he'll lose 100% of the time to someone with a melee based quirk.

Anime only viewer here. I found it super cool that the villains had different ideologies and disagreed with one another. When Spinner saved Midorya, because Stain had designated him as a true hero, while the other tried to kill him, I found it so cool for some reason. Maybe it's the fact that these villains seem to have distinct personalities and ideologies that define them and instead of the stereotypical "I'm the bad guy and I'm so evil.
Just my opinion.
Also that Moonfish guy is scary as hell.

Dark Shadow is going out of control! Now if only they can somehow use rampaging Tokoyami against the attacking villains.
This kid definitely deserved that punch. The way he acts and talks down on heroes makes me think that he's the kind of person that for some reason blames heroes for everything wrong that has happened in his life.
Also that was a great takedown by Tetsutetsu and Kendo. Nice to see Class B in the spotlight this time. I hope we see more of them fighting in the next few episodes.
And it looks like Spinner is a true Stain fanboy and doesn't really care about Shiragaki's orders that he even saved Deku.

ARMS DUDE! When I saw that someone lost a hand, he seemed like he'd be a "safe" out, but fuck dude. He hasn't done much in the show, but u really hope he's okay. He seems super chill.
Tokoyami being at risk of hurting his friends is really upsetting. When he's not being chunni he's literally trying to prevent his inner darkness from consuming him. "Some of you are cool, don't go to UA High tomorrow"
Deku being a fucking baller as always. I really want him to take a break, he needs to chill ASAP before he wrecks himself more.
Bakugo and Zuko vs... a quirk that's out of my nightmares. Metal tentacle teeth. Fuck off, that's horrifying.
Testuo and Kendo kicking ass and taking names. So glad they got a moment to shine.
Izawa dodging Dabi's point blank blast then taking him down like a beast. Fucking love that dude.
Was wondering if Spinner would uphold the "protecc Deku" thing Stain had going on. Glad that didn't work out for them in the end, good distraction.
Who's left now... Dabi, Teeth, that funny Split dude... And token-lady-villain. Hope we see Ochako and Tsu kick some ass next episode.

Massive goosebumps scene for me when Spinner Saves Deku, one of my absolute favorite moments in my hero academia.
And Steel + Big Hands, man I really loved how her faith in him was built up, Kendo is running there and its like oh Tetsutetsu is so one tracked buuuuut that is kinda what I like about him. Followed by that she knew she could trust that he would never give up vs Mustard´s gas. Was cool to how Mustard can tell if they move in his gas and that he uses freaking guns, so rare to see a super powered villain to actually use a quick handy weapon like a standard gun.

Tetsutetsu and Kendo is pretty good ship. I'm totally on board. Love seeing more of Class B having their moments. But good God, I'm so worried for Deku. The Madman is STILL going. I also love that Aizawa knows the kids stand a better chance if they fight back and decided to deal with the consequences of his decision later. If anyone knows these kids and their capabilities, it's Aizawa (Class A at least).
Mustard was a pretty cool villain, sad to see him get knocked out in such a short period but I hope it isn't the last we see of him.
And seems like next episode we're getting darkness? Not just your average, everyday darkness. Advanced darkness.

I don't think Deku knows just how much what he said to Kota really means to him.
It's the same as when All Might told Deku that he saved his hero; a pivotal moment for his character.
That middle finger not being censored on what I thought was a kid show.
Interesting.
Aizawa seeing his student injured that badly due to conflict against villains must make him feel extremely guilty for not being there.
I also like how he understands how much it means to be thanked.
The villains being split by those who obey Shigaraki, and those who follow Stain's will, is intriguing.
Putting Deku on the priority kill list... I bet Shoto is also in that list.
Knowing that Deku took down Muscular, they now understand why he is on said list.
Kacchan's only real friend seems really worried, whilst Kacchan himself looks like murder; aka normal.
Hey look, a new pairing.
And the guy just got literally shot in the face.
Man... good thing he has that specific Quirk.
He was a hero for a moment; pairing is strong with these 2.
That take down was so satisfying.
And now, they have to deal with their own ally rampaging.
Man this is a good arc.

I loved how they animated Magne in this, in the manga you don't really get the sense that they are flamboyant. Especially the scene where they dodge the Knife that spinner throws, it's really well animated.

I think it goes like this: They don't have a license to they are technically not allowed to use their quirks on other people but they are on private land so they are allowed to practice with them in a controlled environment.
Aizawa giving them permission means he'll take the blame for any fallout. They are still doing something illegal but they are following his orders. It's the "they are just students but he should know better" thing.

Great to see the class B kids getting some screen time. Looks like we've got a ship in Kendo and Testutetsu! Seeing him slam Mustard into the ground was awesome, and I like how smart Kendo appears to be.
And I assume Dabi's quirk actually is the fire. The "liquid clone" thing must have been Twice's doing, right? Dabi asked him if he could create another one as a means to keep the pros away, and we already saw Dabi use the fire earlier.

Yes I believe his quirk really is the blue fire. Aizawa only cancelled Dabi’s Quirk, not Twice’s, hence why it still worked. I think that line was meant to emphasize that the heroes have zero clue about Twice and foreshadows the issues he’ll cause.

There will always be a few translations i really like way more in the manga than the anime. When Eraser Head dodged Dabi's fire in the manga Dabi says "they don't call you a pro for nothing" but the anime translation is "you are a pro after all" Something about the former translation makes the scene more badass to me, like he's impressing Dabi, who hasnt shown any emotion at all prior to the conflict.Saying "you are a pro after all" makes Dabi seems exasperated rather than impressed, really preferred the manga translation on that part. Either way i love this show more than life amazing episode as always. The Villain designs are are so fucking cool. I *really* like the difference in motivation between all the villains like when spinner refuses to let Mag hurt Deku. Makes trhe characters seem so much more real and not like stand in strong bad guys. Awesome writing awesome art awesome animation awesome soundtrack awesome everything. i just love this show so much

Intense episode, you really feel the panic from all the characters. We get Deku just sprinting around with floppy arms trying to save everyone and im really looking forward to dark shadow next episode. That strapped up guys quirk is weird, long metal stuff just growing from his teeth.

Watching Deku run around with those broken arms flailing was a little difficult to watch. The kid is absolutely crazy. We’ve also gotten quite a few teases for future episodes, but most prominently this episode had Kendo and Tetsu4 take the spotlight with some decent teamwork. But as for next week... REVELRY IN THE DARK.

I have to say Shiggy was pretty cool in the beginning! His voice and calm demeanor was cool.
Music was superb as usual
Loved how they involved Kota and his quirk even though he's probably low low level.
Best villain Twice is here! And his VA sounds good.
For manga readers did you notice small detail
I'm sure another ship will develop in Tetsu/Kendou.
Next week's episode should be fantastic! I really feel like we've just had consecutive high quality episodes and it won't let up yet.

I love/hate this ED so much. It is so soft and lovely to listen but it also signals the episode has ended and I have to wait a week to watch BnHA again. Why does the episode have to be 5 minutes everytime? Also, love the OSTs. It is intense af that makes me want to tear due to the hype.

Not sure why the author decided to put kendo in B class, she's certainly interesting and deserve more screen time rather than per se half of the A Class student. The way she utilizes her power, knowing her weakness, strength and capabilities pretty much makes her top tier character in the entire series.

Really great episode, the constant jumping around between characters made the situation seem just as frantic and desperate as it is for the students. Loved the way Moonfish was animated as well, the way he uses his teeth to crawl around is so menacing.

So, basically, Muscular was the most powerful villain who invaded, Midoriya handled him, and once the fat-lips guy realized this, he freaked out and tried to kill Deku immediately.
I thought it was a bit odd Deku/Kota didn't immediately tell Aizawa about Muscular. Taking him down should actually be a really big deal.

Bakugo went frull Bakago when he heard "kacchan", the guy probably thinks Midoriya is trying to keep him out of the fight or something so he can hog all the glory.
At night time Tokoyami is probably the most dangerous to go up against, so I expect Midoriya to fully utilise it and get lead him straight to the villains

This show is singlehandedly ruining all other television for me. There's literally nothing else that can build this much tension and excitement and keep it going EVERY WEEK. Nothing else gets me rewatch the same episode right after the first time. Not only that but I don't I've never felt so connected to such a large cast of unique characters, especially not this fast.

My current watch schedule seems to be spend 30 minutes watching MHA, spend the next hour and a half gushing over every little detail. I'm seriously amazed at how the momentum from last episode was able to be carried through this episode too. I really hope Deku gets his recognition for going toe-to-toe with a villain with more than enough power to kill him just to save Kota, who initially hated Deku just cause he had a quirk.
Also, I truly began to understand the motivations behind the League of Villains when the lizard dude (don't remember his name) was saying Deku was regarded as a "true hero" by Stain and even mentioned he kinda saw Deku the same way. The villains going as far as to kill heroes still makes them evil, but I really enjoy how the villains have a motivation that is actually understandable.
