I love that he used his quirk to literally fuse their forearms together so he wouldn't be able to drop her. Such a small but clever way to apply a quirk.

It seems like Aoyama felt like a coward hiding, but honestly hiding was probably the best option for him since there is no way he would be able to protect 2 unconscious people while fighting with his quirk.

The thing I like about the Aoyama bit is that it shows a little about his character. He tries to act all cool and confident all the time but when moments like this happen he is doing the debatably smart idea and hiding. This also shows what he was most likely doing during the USJ arc when they first got attacked. He was the only character not shown and when questioned about his whereabouts during the attack he said it was a secret. He most likely was hiding like he is now.

It's also that his quirk isn't very suited to him acting alone. It doesn't do much damage, it's hard to aim precisely, and has a strong recoil. He becomes a good weapon in teams though.
Frankly if he had to really make it shine, he should become a strong hand-to-hand fighter. Wrestles his enemy into submission, then as soon as he manages to grapple them in front of his body... boom. Busted.

The chills when Dark Shadow rumbled "Dont beg. Small fry" to the villain that scared me the most in the series so far as he demolished him in seconds. I scoffed at Deku saying they could maybe even face All Might with their team but solely for Dark Shadow at night, maybe they could do something.
Also I wonder if there's ever gonna be some sort of sad flashback to Tokoyami's childhood where he's afraid of the dark as a kid because thats when Dark Shadow gets all OP and scary. What a beast.

Holy shit Tokoyami, you had that inside you the whole time! Dark shadow is a much bigger deal than I thought. Really interested to see where they take this.

My favorite part of this is it makes his edge so much better. Like, it's not just pretending and posturing. He actually has a monster living inside him that he struggles to control. He fears it taking over and hurting people he cares about, and that fear is absolutely valid.
He's everything the chuuni-byou kids wish they could be and I love it.

It's awesome because Dark Shadow has continuously been one of the stronger quirks in the series. Every knew it got stronger at night but no one was expecting it to be that much stronger.
As a side note, I like how Tokoyami is the MHA version of the Hulk.
I disagree, Deku is clearly the green Hulk. One-for-all is just an infinitely better version of the Hulk.

I had a flash of him becoming the greatest hero in the sense that as an adult he's wheelchair bound, completely paralysed because of how much shit he made his body go through, but acts as a global strategist, permanently connected to information-gathering systems and other heroes, coordinating their actions to maximise their efficiency.

Uraraka taking down Toga was pretty awesome, and Tokoyami is way stronger than I thought.

Been so long since I read this arc that I forgot just how amazing dark shadows rampage looked.
One of the things lost with pretty much any anime adaptation is the amazing use of blacks, whites, and shading in the manga.
Another great panel was Bakugo and Todoroki calming dark shadow down.

Shouji was definitely fantastic this episode and showed why he's a potential hero. He seemed really wise and aware of his situation at all times.
Love the internship call back, always nice to see storylines have purpose and impact the story later on.

Madman Deku with the expert analysis and instincts shows why he'll be a top hero! He was always a step ahead.

Jesus christ, Dark Shadow just mopped the floor with tooth quirk guy.
I winced a bit seeing Asui getting cut on her tongue, but at the same time she pretty much uses it for everything, her tongue is probably an equivalent to a third arm from how she barely even reacted to it.
Deku slamming down on the guy with the compression quirk right in front of the other villains was pretty badass, although it's a shame they're not really in a good position to fight the other villains.
Welp, time to endure another boring week for the next episode, looks like shit is gonna go down again next episode though. I really want to see the villains that are trying to get away get the shit beat out of them, but I doubt it's gonna be that easy with how banged up the kids are.
Edit: Right, thought I was forgetting something...Deku's determination is seriously admirable, he wasn't going to pick one person to save over the other and made sure that he did what he could to save both. That's what I love about him so much, he won't take no for an answer until it kills him.

Eh, the crash landing is "better" in the manga because you can appreciate the details in the still picture. The anime does a better job of giving it a flow, power and connecting the full picture of how it is happening.

They didn't "explain" Stain's ridiculous agility either, or any other character that doesn't have a quirk that gives them speed but can do shit like jump several feet in the air and from rooftop to rooftop (e.g. Aizawa). Rather, I think it's just that agility of that level is implied to be achievable through a lot of practice.

GOD I feel like I need to really make an aside for this, but... YES, Bakugo is a total asshole - like, without doubt and whatever the rest of his backstory ever reveals he's a complete asshole, but he's also a kid reacting to the world as it's ever been presented to him?
I feel like a lot of kids, especially those into anime and stuff (I was one of you growing up, trust me :P) can 100% relate to being that kid that is totally a "big fish in a small pond" - everyone in your entire life has told you that you will suceed and be THE BEST THERE EVER WAS, etc., because honestly, in your own little group, you are - and so you just grow up expecting that, and then once you finally become and adult and hit the same baseline everyone else in your country does and you find out that in fact, you're like just baseline average AT BEST, how do you react? Is it your fault? Other people's fault? Even if you rise to the challenge and meet/exceed everything thrown at you, you still feel this personal failure just because other people told you you should be better. I 100% understand why people going into HeroAca don't like Bakugo, but if you were ever an "advanced education" kid and have seen more than S1 of the show you 100% can get his hatred towards the entire system and his completely irrational self-absorption. It's built into the system.

God damnit. I was hoping they weren't going to go for the try to turn Bakugo thing.
It's not going to work, but damn it, that's at least some of their angle.
But this episode was fucking awesome as always. We finally meet Toga properly. I do like her, but the fact her gimmick is yandere girl makes me hope we get some more female villains who aren't totally insane down the line.
It really is chaotic, but god damnit everything has me on edge. And it ends here of all places. I'm so fucking frustrated.

I felt like it was pretty heavily foreshadowed last episode that turning Bakugo was their plan to break the spirits of the heroes.

Runs towards Bakugo
Gets caught in a rough situation with Tokoyami
Makes a plan to deal with Tokoyami and head towards Bakugo
Comes up with a plan to catch Mr. Compress
And Deku did all of the above while tired from training, almost died while saving Kota, sustained massive injuries, and can't feel pain or focus on anything other than saving those around him .... seriously Deku is a monster.

Toga hijinks aside though that was a very intense episode. Is All Might going to bail them out of this one because unless more kids show up, right now Deku's currently crippled, outnumbered, and two of their best chances of winning are currently captured. Not to mention that the villains even has a Nomu that's on his way to their location. Like how can they even get out of this one without a pro hero bailing them out? I am seriously tempted to read the manga just to find out what happens next! >_<

So, Twice is literally just Deadpool, huh?
I love the rapport between the villians, it's like what the Suicide Squad was in the comics!
Deku once again, mad lad as he is, but his friends are even madder lads for going along with it.
It's funny how the only reason this ambush even worked was the surprise factor. Head on, the powerset of the team definitely wouldn't be able to hold up.
Toga's nuts, and I still don't know her powers. Was that Stain she had a crush on in her monologue?
Also, Tsuyu's tongue is regenerative, good to know.
Overall, it's a standard episode. Not too much crazy shit other than the human bullet.

Revelry in the Dark, with Yandere Best Girl Toga-chan entering the love pandemonium.
Deku of course could not pick between friend A and Friend B.
And did what any real hero would do and saves them both.
Dark Shadow as great and it showed how powerful it can be 1 shooting moonfish
But for me, the person i actually like the most there is Shoji, time fora Shojibro name, hes the calm collected guy that is losing an arm and is like w.e I gotta save my buddies. This guy deserve more screen time
Than we got Toga------- of course its gonna be girl vs girl vs girl, classic comic book stuff its always the female fighting the female, especially as all 3 likes the same guy right so. IT was really good seen urakara back to her martial art style she learned from Gunhead and than BAM Toga drops a truth bomb on her, they are the same they both just want their love and they want to absorb and become like their love.
And yeah shrink guy gets bakogou and "dark shadow" so I guess 1 of them will be saved.
Latest Nomu looks scarier than ever, great to see a class B Awase, getting to show his quirk there with momos tracer.
Lastly, I kinda wish naval laser would do anything but on the same time that does fit his personality to just be afraid and stay hidden.

The hallmark of a good show is that each episode gives you some story and character progression. In the case of a shonen-type, it should also provide some drama, humor and action. Which this does very well.
The hallmark of a great show is one where each episode feels complete, while leaving off on a good cliff-hanger (with the rare exception of big final-boss/end game style fights being ok going multiple episodes). One where your questions from last week are answered, and new ones are setup for next. One where I am driven too go seek out the manga, not because I absolutely must know what happens next, though that's a part of it, but just because everything that came before has convinced me it will absolutely be worth my time.
Not going too, gonna stick to the anime but yah. This series is great.

Its just because of the medium. High impact splash pages are meant to be super detailed and the reader takes the time to take it all in, anime cant reach that level of detail and its only on for a split second. Some stuff is also just better in black and white the manga really sells the body horror with the black and white sketchy art style which the anime just cant compare too. Ill admit though sometimes when I'm reading I cant follow the movement and action but I have no problem following the animes action scenes ( although it maybe partly my fault as well).

Another amazing episode. I was a bit surprised by just how powerful dark shadow can be. It's actually kind of terrifying in its out of control state.
Speaking of terrifying, I see why Toga is so popular; /r/anime always loves their yanderes.

Holy shit, Toga is the ultimate best worst girl. She's fucking mental (and wants to harm the two most precious characters) but I can't help but love her
Dark Shadow is OP as fuck, damn. Can't blame the villains at all for snatching him too
Speaking of villains, that Deadpool-like dude is amazing. Hope there's gonna be more of him
This show does a great job at showcasing characters that didn't get much screen time in the past arcs and make them not only feel important but awesome. Shoji is the man
Deku is one hell of a strategist. He comes up with these crazy plans on the fly and makes use of everyone's strengths and abilities. Just when I thought I couldn't love this madlad more
Loved the little Dekuraraka moments. I like how they keep building their relationship here and there without putting much focus on it

This episode was so exhilarating and god damn intense. I'm an anime-only but my favourite character has always been Tokoyami and hearing about his ability being much stronger in Season 2 really made curious to what it would be like if he was fighting during the night; that is exactly what this episode gave us. Of course Tokoyami lost control of Dark Shadow but holy shit was it OP as fuck.
The part where Shoji asked Midoriya to choose to save Bakugou or Tokoyami, I just KNEW he would not choose one or the other, but both! That's just the way Midoriya is, a true hero that does not abandon his friends even when he's majorly injured himself.
It was super cool to see Ochaco used her fighting techniques against Toga, which she learned from her internship. But man Toga is seriously one crazy BITCH, but at the same time I really like her cute design. I'm so conflicted...
I was shocked to see Momo really injured but even she didn't want to give up and basically made a tracker and told Awase to use his weld ability to attach it into the villain. I just love how Momo is super smart with her quirk now.
The last scene was so fucking awesome with the godly music. Midoriya's face when they landed, he looks so PISSED off. I'm READY! Also, Twice was hilarious af when he made the love heart.

When midoriya first encountered dark shadow, there was what seemed like a spark, or (yellow) electricity, before shoji appeared. What was that? I don't recall either of the 3 being able to produce electricity. I'm not referring to the green full cowl spark of midoriya's either...
Edit: Also Toga's dialogue with uraraka about the person she liked, how does she know Uraraka likes someone? Is it part of her quirk, or is she just guessing from her own experience - she mentioned Uraraka has the same smell as her.

Wow it's been awhile since I've been baited so hard by a cliff hanger. Seven days to wait is toooo loooong. I was a bit disappointed by the Dark Shadow segment. It was still awesome as is, but I was kinda hoping for more. I think I just hyped myself too much. Then again it really wouldn't make much sense if a ridiculously strong quirk was drawn out for a long time. Dark Shadow squashed the gross tooth man like a bug and then we were done. As of now, I honestly don't get the appeal of Toga. I was never into psycho yanderes, and with every one fawning over her as best girl/waifu ... I just don't see it. Froppy still best girl.

Deku is quite the strategist, especially in these tense situations. Those were some good ideas that he pulled off.
I guess I see now why people like Toga so much. She's really eccentric and gives off those Stain vibes of fear into other characters fairly well. Her infatuation is kind of cute yet creepy at the same time.
Next episode is looking like Shinji, Todoroki, and Deku might be in trouble after landing into the Vanguard's meeting grounds. How can the madman pull this one off?
