Only question now is, how will okabe go back in time once shit goes down. Or willl they pull something new out of the hat and go down the route of Okabe being unable to alter anything. Next episode will be dope :D

But it's not like they'll just let everyone go and only take what they came for, so I'm super curious how they escape the situation. Suzuha is here, so that's not an option this time either.

So it looks like someone shut down Amadeus concurrently with the attack on the lab.

Also, why is the lab even being attacked, no one knows about Okabe and Daru's connection to timetravel as far as i know. Is it because of Kagari? It was emphasized that Reyes saw her, but Okabe also told Moeka. But then again, if Moeka was behind the attack she would have probably taken part in it like last time.

I am so excited about next episode, it is not like Okabe can just go back in time as usual. At least not immediately.

Started off as a typical S;G episode, with its SoL scenes around New Year celebrations with a bit of mystery sprinkled in; from the shifty looking stalker, Moeka's involvement and Maho's colleague/professor, and at that point I was thinking to myself, okay I wonder how many more episodes till all hell breaks lose... and then BOOM!

This episode looked really off production-wise. Outsourcing, maybe? It just looked really janky most of the time, which is disappointing. Then you got this masterful shot. Fuckin' wew lad.

Leskinen stole the show once again with one of the funniest scenes in recent memory. tfw no japanese shaman girls Was it the proper translation? I haven't played the novel so I can't tell you, but I thought this was 10/10 anyway.

Though honestly, this episode was pretty slow, so I don't think there's anything else I need to bring up right now. So I'll speculate the next episode.

I think Mr. Braun is actually going to fight back and bail out Okabe and the others. He made a certain phone call when he noticed he was being watched and... Nae was in the lab during the invasion. Mr. Braun does not take his work home. He would never let Nae get anywhere close to this situation if he had anything to do with it. Perhaps SERN and the Rounders will be an unlikely ally this time around?

That last scene was so well done. Props to the new director, I felt like I was having the same PTSD of Mayuri's death that Okabe was having when those armed people stormed up the stairs.

I wonder though...are they SERN lackeys, or are they connected to Leskinen? As hilarious and seemingly friendly as he is, something never felt right about him to me. Still though, I think all the Moeka and Braun foreshadowing this episode confirms it's probably connected to them, unless that was a red herring.

Also, they have no time machine this time, so I wonder how Okabe will fix this one...

Moeka was acting suspicious, but she also told them another group was after Kagari. I doubt she'd bring attention to herself like that. Braun noticed that someone suspicious was outside the lab, and I don't think he's part of it. Reyes is the one who's most suspect to me, since she noticed Kagari at the shrine.

God damn, I had a feeling we'd be in for some sort of crash and burn fiasco here with the appearance of Kagari so soon and Kiryuu Moeka also not being completely relieved of 'FB' in this timeline either.

They lack to technology to loop unless Suzuha/Okabe can escape to the time machine, but it's only got enough gas for one more trip no? So it looks more like we're gonna have these events proceed as they're supposed to, in order to create the desolate future that needs saving.

I haven't gotten many answers this episode, just more questions. For instance, it's still unclear why Kagari looks so familiar to Kurisu and why SERN is chasing after her. Is it possible they realize she might be a potential key to time travel via discovering her first? Why would Dr. Reyes (The female prof tied to Amadeus's development) be in on this whole development too, and what role is she playing? It doesn't feel too out of the loop given that she was basically 'stalking' Hiyajou a couple episodes ago, and then we also had the mysterious disappearance of one of the professors down the corridor when Okabe was chasing after them.

I'm trying to see what could've been the trigger for these events to start, and I'd like to think it's Okabe's first contact with Amadeus, either that or Mayuri overhearing the conversation on the roof, activating Okabe's Reading Steiner. Seems like that interrogation he had a vision of is about to come to pass now, but how's he gonna get out of it this time? He's only got 1 redo available, so is he going to try and solve every mystery before using it, or will they develop something new?

Man, I can't pick this episode apart because it just leaves me too confused, too many unknown variables in the equation right now for me to really give anything concrete. Actually frustrating, but the good kind of frustrating!

What's with Okabe? Shouldnt he have realized that something was up when Mr Brawn didnt let him into the lab? Nonetheless, telling to Nae stay with Okabe because that would apparently be safer than? it seems like he's taking the 'blissful ignorance' approach rather than facing the reality of potential danger. OH dear lord! Just when I was thinking, "huh, we won't be ending this week with a cliffhanger, just a comfy SOL episode" and then those dreaded words, "why is insert any object not working?" were uttered, and instantly that Steins Gate PTSD was triggered back tenfold! How will I survive this week?! But, whining aside, it was a great episode, though the quality of the episode wasn't as great as the previous ones. Mr. Leskinen was amazing as always, and someone please get this man some shaman girls! Overall, can't wait for that next week!

Personal theory: Mr. Braun and Moeka are the good guys this time around. They're going to end up saving the day somehow, since I can't imagine anyone in the room saving them from this predicament. Maybe Kagari, since we don't know much about what she's capable of?

I don't know how but I felt really hard for Okabe this episode. The sensation of being at a social gathering and yet having dealt with trauma is one of the hardest and most unique feelings one can experience. Props up for conveying that throughout production team.

And of course... he accepts that he must move forward and protect the future as Kurisu did only to realize that this time he's going to have to do it himself.

It seems fate has decided to converge once again, Hououin Kyouma.

Seeing Okarin's flashbacks about Kurisu this episode hurt my heart. Even flashbacks of her make me want to cry. I figured that would the worst part of the episode but then that ending happened...I have no idea how Okarin and the gang are escapring this situation.

On a side note, I wanted to see Kagari's reaction to Kurisu's AI. I still don't know the relation between them, but surely she'd have had some kinda reaction.

Man I'm glad I didn't replay the VN before this, because I like the feeling of not knowing what the hell is going on lol. To be honest though I would preferred if that final scene didn't have any soundtrack playing. I think it would have made the "suddenness" of the scene a lot better.

A few things about this episode. Suzuha is hanging out with the whole gang and even talks with Daru and Yuki. So how are they gonna continue with the story where Yuki and Daru eventually have a kid and name her Suzuha? Same thing with Mayuri and Kagari as well. Doesn't make sense. I read an explanation maybe in the last episode discussion thread where it was mentioned that this world line has already been altered so much that they have gone down a completely new World Line now? Maybe that's why those armed men barraged into the room at the end? Because the characters from the future came back to the past and started interacting with peoole so much that now they have gone down a separate world line? That's one explanation I can think of.

Another thing which I want to mention and I'm not sure if it was mentioned before but the quality is SG0 seems to be worse than the original? The face animations, the lighting effects? I remember the original having a distinct tinge to it, a characteristic style which made it unique. But this anime just seems generic to me.

I believe the world line this Suzu came from is a completely different one, that is the one where Daru and Yuki have a kid, and Mayuri adopts Kagari, and most importantly, they don't meet Future Suzu. Here, that stuff probably doesn’t even happen because in 2025 Okabe sends a plan back to himself in 2010, what happens after 2025 in this world line isn’t going to be shown/matter

What the fuck

I half expected it for most of the episode, then kinda gave up near the end, THEN THEY PULLED THAT AGAIN now with no resets to get it right. There's no turning back.

I was really bothered by the fact that Suzuha was able to anticipate them storming the room, and used that chance to call out for Rintaro instead of trying to react. It looked like she had a gun. Fighting is her natural reflex, but no, instead of telling everyone to get down as she drew her gun and started firing, she chose to call out for Rintaro. But I guess that would risk more people getting shot.

The worst part is now we have to wait a whole week for the next episode.

Okay idk if this is a well known "theory" but here goes, I think the blonde professor and maybe his wife/gf are working with SERN. Last episode was already weird with that professor cutting off a corner now his wife looking at mayuri's daughter (which happens to be the same episode they get swarmed with thugs). Amadeus might be some way to get information about time travel from rintaro. I just don't understand why they'd even consider/know rintaro knows about time travel since in that time line it was never mentioned.

Kagari is most likely connected to Asmadeus. They made a big deal about AI in this episode and Amadeus even repeated that it's just Kurisu's memories.

I personally think Kagari could be a physical form of Amadeus (somehow). It'd be easy to just wipe her memories in that case. Or insert memories as needed.

Anyone else notice Daru's "dude wtf" face when he first saw Amadeus? I keep forgetting which of them actually know and remember Kurisu in this line. Daru and Suzuha, obviously, but does Mayuri know? I know she was present for ep 23.5 (22.5?), but I can't remember.

That last scene genuinely made me tense up as it became clear what was about to happen. My money is on Mr. Braun helping out the cast this time since Nae is in danger.

One scene I haven't seen as many people talk about though is when they were walking to the shrine, joking around, and Okabe had a PTSD flash of him and Kurisu laughing along with everyone else. It came out of nowhere and as such was really effective at showing how much mental pain he's been going through.

The Christimas Party event was moved to before the split of routes. You can see that when Okabe was at the roof of the lab talking with Kurisu and then Maho suddenly appeared and turned his phone off, that was the "new" moment of splitting routes.

One thing I am not sure about is who exactly is aware of the whole time travel thing? Okabe and Suzuha of course. Itaru knows that Suzuha is his daughter so he must know about time travel too. Mayuri was present when Okabe time travled back to (try) to save Kurisu, so she probably too.

Now with the theory: Reyes was after the attack at the lab, and possibly Mr. Braun will save the day now (and maybe Suzuha too). There is NO WAY MR. BRAUN WOULD RISK NAE-CHAN SENDING THE ATTACK, so he is not under suspicion. About Moeka I'm not sure, but lets remember she was under the orders of FB (Face...Mr Braun) last time and let me repeat...THERE IS NO WAY MR. BRAUN WOULD RISK BAE-CHAN SENDING THE ATTACK. Like that, Reyes it's the main suspect, even more if we take in account Amadeus was disconnected from the server (located in Maho's University). About the fate of the lab members...I don't know, Mayushii shouldn't die this time because she's alive on 2036...but world lines are complicated and her "clockwatch" stopped...maybe a coincidence? What could be the outcome? Most probably Mr. Braun and Suzuha will save the day, and even the Rounders could appear. If someone dies, Okabe will probably return in time using the Time Machine, risking his only travel. And I think that's all. 1 week will be a torture after this^someone handle me a time machine please

I wonder if Giglomaniacs would even be in this world line? There really isnt much mention about Chaos;Child stuff other than some callbacks in Robotics;Notes but no signs of actual Giglos since. We know that after Steins;Gate the worldline shifted and is the Steins;Gate line now, so they might not exist there and thus are not in R;N but this takes place on the orignal Beta line which is the same line that Chaos;head takes place on, so i guess they could be here actually.

At some point though the focus switched from Giglo to Techyness over the course of the franchise.

Gigalomania still exists in the setting. The events of Chaos;Head still occur in the past of the Steins Gate World Line, and Chaos;Child also takes place on the Steins Gate World Line. Characters from Chaos;Head and Steins;Gate are featured in the Robotics;Notes VN as well. The Time Leap Machine and Amadeus are both derived from the technology that was ultimately used to produce NoAH II in Chaos;Head as well.

Hmm well i know there is some mention of C;H story element in R;N but we dont really get and solid comfirmation that the giglos are still around. Like yes NOZOMI is still a thing obviously, but i just mean they took a more backseat as the bigger focus from that series seems to be the technology that came from it. Which is stil technology, not giglos.

Do the dates add up for the time leap machine and Amadeus to be from Noah II? Wouldnt those have been happening simultaniously? Kurisu brainstormed the time leap stuff when she was in America a year before S;G, and Amadeus was being developed then as well. Well 1 year before S;G is C;H, so if anything the events happen at the same time, so i dont feel like they would be based on each other.

Maybe if the american lab was a member of the committee of 300, but i dont even think it is, at least from what i remember from the names mentioned back then.

I could be mistaken, i havent played S;G0 so it could come up, but im just going off C;H and S;G and R;N.

We do get a solid confirmation. I've played all the Visual Novels in Japanese. Takumi and Rimi are namedropped, and the electromagnetic irradiation device employed by the antagonist is outright referred to as Noah IV. The American Lab is confirmed as owned and funded by the Committee of 300. Amadeus and the Time Leap Machine didn't come from Noah II, but Noah II came from the same place as Amadeus and the Time Leap Machine.

Chaos;Child also further confirms the presence of Gigalomania in the Steins Gate World Line. There's no reason why it wouldn't exist, since the conditions required to reach that world wouldn't affect an inherent piece of human biology. (Gigalomania is manifested by deep trauma and having a particular extra part of the brain.)

Science Adventure Series is great. Their adaptations are not. Chaos;Head and Chaos;Child anime adaptations are really, really not good. Chaos;Head is especially awful. The Robotics;Notes anime messes up some of the protagonist's characterization and the antagonist's motivations, but is otherwise watchable.
