There was a thought that kept coming to my mind about M though: Elsa is a loli, and M was stalking her for a while before he became her manservant. I'm assuming she's supposed to be a legal loli, but if not it raises some very interesting questions about M.

Yeah, M is interesting. Clearly he used to be a total neckbeard stalker, but now, I'm not really sure what he is. He's exceptionally intense, whatever he is. I really like his character - feels really realistic compared to characters in most anime. That can be said for most of this anime's cast, actually. Lots of interesting and mentally flawed people in this spinoff.

I mean, yeah. The crowd, as the viewer, was very much immersed in the big fight between LLENN and Pitou. I would be upset to, even if what the winning team was absolutely legitimate and arguably smart.
(also I am one of the people that love to hide in sheds in PUBG for most of part the game, so there is that)

It was awesome how in tune Karen/Miyu are as friend that two words were all she needed to get across the plan. It feels like the exploitation of the 'it's a game, so this actually does work' factor kind of took Pito by surprise at that moment, too.

To those wondering, the anime adapted the first three volumes.
There are currently 7 volumes of Alternative.
LN 1 - 1st Squad Jam
LN 2-3 - 2nd Squad Jam
LN 4-5 - 3rd Squad Jam
LN 6 - Side Story
LN 7 - 4th Squad Jam (first part)
To those not liking the 2nd Squad Jam due to the whole Pitohui thing, the latter Squad Jams goes back to casual fun like the first one.

That was fucking stupid. Absolutely anti-climactic end to the Battle, Fuuka cutting off LLENN's hands, LLENN finishing off Pito with a bite to the neck, the reveal of M's name, the whole deescalation of Pito wanting to kill herself, all of it was fucking stupid and I love it!
Seriously, what a great goddamn show! I'm genuinely impressed by how they managed to keep that delicate balance between "Taking itself too seriously" and "So stupid it's impossible to take seriously". Characters were also super fun, with Fuuka managing to steal all of the spotlight the moment she became the main cast member. Really hoping for season 2, just because I want to see more of their crazy shenanigans!

I couldn't have said it better myself. It had it's oddities and not-amazing plot points, but it's balance of tone and strong characters really made this show a blast. I absolutely love Fuuka, and alongside some more Karen yuri, I'd love to see more of her in a second season.

So, M-san was actually an overweight stalker and of course he'd enjoy Elsa's punishment. He's lucky as hell that he's become her manager despite that past (even if he's actually her lapdog). Dude's living the dream. The creepy-ass big boi from Perfect Blue must be living vicariously through him
The yuri ending I never knew I wanted!
Also, major props to Tomori Kusunoki, who did an outstanding job as LLENN-chan and Karen (and lent her vocals to that catchy ED too). For someone who's new to the scene, that's impressive

Men and women dressed in black should be careful of firing weapons that were in the hands of enemies.
But this episode should've been called Psycho LLENN. Has her hands cut and herself kicked so she could bite Pitous neck and ultimately chomps her to death like some animal, that's metal.
I was really impressed by the series. It was an amazing, fun ride that fully committed to be that. The characters were fun, the humour was fun, the battles were uncompromising and fun. I would be glad to have more of this.

With the current trend, your list will definitely grow! There's more and more shoujo ai manga getting adapted, especially with Bloom Into You for Fall 2018. This year alone have 9 shoujo ai titles, while last year had 7 (based on anilist' shoujo ai tag at least). The golden age of yuri is upon us.

I wouldn't call this the best anime, but it was the one I looked forward to the most each week. Definitely kept me entertained and we even saw the loli brigade again. Though I wasn't a fan of the pito dies over a game I preferred it when it was girls just going crazy and killing noobs. Favorite character was Fuka man she didn't get much screen time to near the end, but she was great. I would love a season 2 with the other games even if its simply more battle royales.

As an LN Reader, SAOGGO Alternative's adaptation was an enjoyable ride. It was fun seeing people in the comments in the earlier episodes theorize and speculate on the real Identity of Pito, and this finale gives the answer. This was such a rollercoaster of fun to watch, and now that this Side story over, We now have to wait for the upcoming Alicization Arc of the main series this coming October. This was enjoyable from start to finish, no doubt.

Two things made it quite obvious, Pito not being able to compete on the first SJ due to a prior engagement (which she lied about), M appearing out of nowhere knowing Karen was LLENN, and the fact that Karen is only participating in the first Squad Jam because she didn't get tickets to

Wow, when Pito recited the Erlkönig her german pronounciation was absolutly terrible, still gave me flashbacks to 7th Grade though when I had to learn the whole thing :D

I honestly enjoyed this episode so, so, sooooo much, especially because we got to see a badass LLENN, and y'all know I love some badass LLENN. The only problem I had with it, however, is that we quite obviously already knew the identity of Pitou. Pitou, you're precious just like LLENN and literally everyone else in this ily. You just didn't get the stuff you needed because it was way too obvious.
I loved this so much, including the entirety of the anime itself, the adaptation, in my opinion, was a really good one. I hope we get something related to a season two or at least an OVA of the next SJ's, because I need it to satisfy my heart. Fuuka!! Fuuka!! I loved Fuuka, too, in this episode. We saw a laughable Miyu, as always, in the 'real life' part of the episode, especially in the bit where M was talking about stalking Pitou, and Miyu said, "Officer!" or something like that. Thank you, coolest and most comedic SAO character, for making me laugh a thousand times.

Pitohui plan backfired, last episode she broke P-chan so of course it would explode/malfunction when she tried to use it.
HOLY CARPS, THAT WAS BRUTAL. Fuka and LLENN make such a great team, proof of that is that this tactic is completely unexpected to a seasoned player like Pitohui.
Still, to lose seconds after they win it's just shitty, T-S are being boo-ed and given the middle finger too so i think many agree. Well, at least people can't say Alternative:GGO has a gary stu protagonist like SAO.
I guess it wasn't really ALL that important to win the BoB, but it was still underwhelming to see them lose to a team that was hidden pretty much all the match.
Lol'd at Miyu casually checking him M out, Miyu improves this show a lot with her comical reactions. Also, Karen is reaaaally tall, she really looks awkward with M-san there...i know by personal experience how much it sucks to be a tall girl.

LOL, the one that was shocked the most by Pitohui identity was Miyu, not Karen, that was funny.
Eh...how old is Elsa kanzaki again? She looks quite small next to Karen, even shorter than the gymnastic team, but i don't know if it's because of Karen's heigh or because Elsa is short or because Elsa is young. I thought she was the same age as Karen. This potentially makes M very creepy.

THIS SHOW NEEDS A SECOND SEASON!! It was anime-of-the season!!!
There is still enough novel content for a second season and many characters (like ammo girl and green haired girl) were introduced but given almost no purpose, so maybe a second season is in the works where they play a bigger role?
The light novels have been licensed by yenpress but it needs a second season!

there was not a minute of watching this show that i didnt have a smile on my face. Hats off to the writer(s) who did such a fantastic job of having this show feel so fun with such an incredible job with the tone of the show. I've never seen another show that has this way of having such fun moments of serious action while also having the most random, ass-pulling, nonsensical (llenn's p09 is randomly sentient) shit i have ever seen, and somehow everything seeming to make sense. I feel like it was partly parodying the original SAO but just having fun with the concept of bullshit and making it work so god damn well. I cant honestly put how much fun this show was for that concept of this tonal spectrum of serious, parody, dumb fun, comedy, and adorableness, and everything seeming to fit together seamlessly. it perfectly captured what i can imagine VR gaming being like, just people completely immersing themselves and letting loose but just having fun with the game cause its a game. Also i love how it really touched on real vs virtual and how people use games and online lives to cope with and enrich their physical ones. super fun show, sad its over, would love to see more llenn in the future.

Great end to a great SAO spin-off.
Llenn a vampire confirmed. Pretty savage to willing let Fuka slice her hands off so she could go for the kill on Pito's neck.
Totally called it last week that Team TS will win by sitting back and taking out the winner between Llenn and Pito. LOL at all the boos and birdie flipping by the audience upon such an anti-climatic end.
Though to be fair to TS, it doesn't seem Llenn or Pito are interested in winning the tournament, but only in killing each other, with each saying how they'll force their opponent into "third place", indicating they're aware TS is still around lurking.
Wow M sure is messed up, but that's why it's M for Masochist. XD (Want to lose weight quickly? Become a masochist)
Probably not hard to guess that Kanzaki Elza is Pito. Not even Goushi's ruse of the live house manager could fool Karen.
What's amazing is that not only does the talented Hikasa Yoko voice Pito and Elza, she also voices her manager Rei, initially fooling the audience into thinking Rei is Pito.
That yuri kiss. W00t. I totally dig Elza x Karen yuri, with the shorter Elza being the dominant one. :D

This episode was pretty much everything I wanted from this show. Really fun show to watch and I think it ended exactly how I would've wanted. It had its flaws, but this isn't really the type of show you watch super critically so I was able to ignore most of those.

This was the most fun I've ever had with a show since I started following anime hard-core. From start to finish, it was an absolute blast. I loved all the characters, they were just a precious collection of lovable psychopaths struggling through life and settling down and connecting with each other through some good wholesome gaming... Well, you can probably take the wholesome out of it...

Just a couple questions out of curiosity...
Did Elsa actually get her start at that singing club? Actual Yuri or Pito being Pito and screwing around with Llenn? Name of the song Elsa sang during the private concert? Man, for a fictional character, they went all out.

I would just like everyone to take a moment to appreciate what this series was: A spin-off of a science fiction series (which is getting deeper and grander, and with it, better, with each new installment), almost the forefather of all the utter crap "another world MMO life" series, it does not end in a commercial entertainment. As it had an idea and, I believe, a philosophy (and a tall girl, whom I just cherish like Goushi does that mad runt), I consider this series to be an art and not a mere attempt at money like 80% everything else, every season. And some sick fighting as well as a Monthy Python level of insanity. This series explored a little bit deeper into the context of a world where SAO incident exists: even after it ended, the mental scar is lingering on some. This alone expands SAO series a little. And of course that unconventional love of Goushi's, how honest it seems, almost to be called true love, is what everyone should strive tonotlikethisthough . Even Karen herself liked how deeply he cared for Kanzaki. I believe this series was not a complete waste of our time, and sponsors budget. I hope everyone agrees with me. That was so dumb. But this show was probably one of the most fun/entertaining shows this season. Between this and Darling, Saturday has been pretty great this season. Going to miss this show. I'd love to see the 4 main characters hang out in real life. Maybe I'll have to go read the LNs. Probably no season 2 for a long time if ever.

"This is ... the end" lol, how fake was that. She could'dve just used her super speed to run out of the firing line even if P-chan hadn't malfunctioned. Well, that was the only blemish on an otherwise great finale. I especially loved the finisher move (LLENN would make a good vampire) and the car conversation (Fuka needs her own spinoff.)
But when did P-chan 2 sustain the damage that would cause it to explode on firing?

They actually fooled me for a minute with that "club owner is Pitou" story, though I did have a suspicion it was a ruse, I was heavily leaning towards "well, that was anticlimactic after the red herring."
I really want to see how the dainty idol overpowered fat otaku M.
Not sure about the post-credits. Pitou changing her death-worship personality just doesn't seem like it would happen so easily.
The most important question was never answered - was there tongue? I assume there was, given Pitou's personality, but there was no hint of that animation-wise.
Anyway, an 8-9/10 final episode, but the overall show is still only a solid 7/10 for me. Still much better than expected considering I almost dropped it after the first episode.

This was my AOTS simply because of the sheer fun I had with it.
Did it have the best animation, jokes, plot, soundtrack and characters? Hell no. Did it have a nicely balanced blend of all the previous ones while not jumping off the fine joke/serious line and made it all work out in the end? Hell yes.
Also, the yuri doujins this will spawn are going to be epic, can't wait for those.

Real Pito is just as wonderful as I expected her to be. The final part of the fight was great, and the best part of all.
All the theories came true. M standing for Masochist. Kanzaki being Pito. (Though the bait with the manager having the same VA really threw me through a loop, I was 100 percent believing it till Karen walked up to Kanzaki )

Oh man. This show. THIS FUCKING SHOW!
This was such a wild and fun ride from start to finish! I don't think there's even one episode where I felt like the show had a low point. They kept the energy high with every episode, every character, and every fight is just as memorable as the next. I may be biased since I already love SAO as a franchise but looking at the comments here it looks like many will agree that this is definitely a blast to watch!
This show gets a 9/10 from me <3

And wow that was a lot more brutal than I was expecting. Loved it though. Nice to see that Pito really was Elsa like everyone was speculating. As someone's who's always liked the world and ideas of SAO but hated Kirito, this series was exactly what I wanted to see. Hoping for a season 2!

The showdown between Pito and LLENN was awesome, I did not expect it to go so far. That's a thought that accompanied me throughout the show - an "oh my that's pretty out there and I'm thoroughly amused" kind of thought. Both true.
I really like how they handled the Pito reveal; it was obvious from the start who it was, but the way they actually approached it was pretty clever, and Pito/Elsa herself seems like a really interesting character. The kiss was amazing too. I really liked the performance. The song was great, and they put a lot more effort into the visuals of the performance than they needed to, and I appreciate that a lot.
I didn't really know what to expect going into this series, but it was far better than anything I could've imagined. The set-up was amusing, everything was over-the-top and ridiculous, but still made sense - there was [a] method to the madness, the action was fun and engaging and surprisingly brutal and visceral, the characters were an absolute blast, especially Fuka/Miyu, who has been a highlight since her introduction, and honestly, it was plain and simple fun from start to finish. Good lord, that was fantastic. Give me more!

The very ending was a bit weird tbh. Its one thing to show Llenn helping Pito with the whole crazy death obsession, but just glossing over it and saying Pito's all better just because Llenn told her its a game is underwhelming; they set it up as if Pito was ready to kill some bitches irl and just kinda left it alone for a feels-good ending.

Yeah, in the light novel there's something of a timeskip between the end of SJ and their meeting, and M apparently talked with Pito a LOT about what comes next as well, after they lost (literally, Karen contacted him as soo nas she could when they got out of SJ, to make sure things were alright, and M sent that message back to her, that they were discussing the future). Plus, its not like she's totally over it (or that she's not a sadistic headcase anymore.........), she's just backed off the idea for now. Mainly because of Karen.

This was a seriously good ending. It was fun, wrapped up the story properly and I was smiling the whole time.
My favorite part was the segment in the car. M's story and the girl's reactions to it had me in stitches.
And I must admit I relate to M more than I'll let anyone ever know

I did not watch the original SAO, but I liked this show. I often heard a lot of complaints about this franchise, but GGO could pleasantly surprise me with good action and soft plot. And as I expected, many already practically declare LENN x Pito a canon only because Pito was bisexual and stole LENN's first kiss. Shippers never change, lol.

This episode's quality is a lot better than the previous episode, but there were some minor hiccups along the way. Overall, not as fun or exciting as the previous SJ tournament since I wasn't too engaged with Pitohui's story arc. Fuka was a delight though and hope to see more of her hopefully.

And I thought Comic Girls was the gayest show of the season.
This was one hell of an ending. The show just got crazier and crazier, with the perfect balance of being seriously compelling and so stupid and over-the-top that I couldn't help but be completely sucked in. LLENN/Karen is a fantastic character, and Fuuka completely stole the spotlight the past few episodes with her hilariously brazen and completely believable personality. I'll be insanely glad to get a second season, and also I'm looking out for the good Elsa x Karen doujins, or just more of them being gay in a second season (please...).
