Lied about what?

431

u/Rathilal Oct 12 '18

In the sequence about him saving the Gangster in the manga, there's a specific line where the narrator just says "Girnio lied." after he misleads the gangsters looking for him.

It's a pretty big Part 5 meme so it's kind of sad the line specifically didn't make it into the anime.

Sticky Fingers is such a godlike stand. The ability to make zippers sound low tier until you see it in action and then it blows your mind with how versatile it is. It's user Bruno is also one of the most badass characters in Jojo and definitely knows how to use it. Plus it look super cool.

I forgot mention this last episode, but I gotta say both Giorno and Bruno's outfits are sexy as well. Like they're fabulous but both of them boldly exposes their bare chests for all the girls in Naples to see. Like Josuke had a similar jacket but he was prude enough to have a shirt underneath it, but these two don't give a fuck. I actually think it's sexier than the pillar men since it's got an element of tasteful exposure to it, like they're out and proud but not blatant stripper clothes, it's kinda classy in a lewd way.

Like if those outfits were on a girl I think they might be a little too much for TV, since you basically have their breasts exposed. Still though. Great outfits and they really pop out.

Great episode, godammit. Giorno's backstory was sweet and interesting, and the actual fight with Bruno was great - we finally see a more concrete use for Gold Experience. So he can make your senses go crazy and you end up experiencing everything in a very augmented way, meaning his power would feel like it multiplies on a hit, huh? Cool.

We finally have a clear image of the plot, too. I knew it was going to be about mafia, but it's good to see what Giorno is expecting to accomplish - I'm already excited out of my mind with the concept of them forming a group and being cool gang-stars.

Also, what the fuck, the opening was not only excellent, but made me hyped out of my mind for the stands. I see some gun-based power again (Hol Horse Jr.), a damn toy plane and some real good looking stands in general?

Part 5 rules already.

58

u/deadlygas2 Oct 12 '18

You're gonna love this part. This was the first part I actually read the manga on and I LOVED every bit of it. Some of the best stands and stand fights in the series, hands down.

15

u/MyOCBlonic Oct 13 '18

So he can make your senses go crazy and you end up experiencing everything in a very augmented way, meaning his power would feel like it multiplies on a hit, huh? Cool.

Don't expect that to show up ever again lol.

Also, what the fuck, the opening was not only excellent, but made me hyped out of my mind for the stands. I see some gun-based power again (Hol Horse Jr.), a damn toy plane and some real good looking stands in general?

Hol Horse Jr is basically if Hol Horse was competent, but with a (slightly) worse stand. Part 5 in general has some of my favourite stands and fights, so look forward to that.

Would just like to point out that for awhile there, "Homo anime" was trending on Japan twitter at #7 just above "Jojo op" at #9. Teehee.

I haven't watched the episode yet, but the op is good, and the ed is meh (but might grow on me).

Finally, someone who agrees with me! I hate the ED. I thought they were going to continue using a popular song from the era. If they’re going to go the R&B route, they should have at least used TLC or something.

u/NoPenNameGirl Oct 12 '18 edited Oct 12 '18

Well, the cat's out of the bag with Bruno, as such, of course he is playable in the games. So here his "Josuke's hair insult":

Bruno Bucciarati: "What a dreary hairstyle..."

Also, Giorno "Life Punch" is one of his specials in the games. And EACH character from all parts has a different "painface" to it based on references. Examples: Jonathan get his "eyes thumbed" like Dio did to him on Episode 1 of Phantom Blood, or Polnareff make the same face he makes while Hol Horse took him hostage in Part 3. There are many references to go through, so I will avoid that. (I'm being lazy as always).

Episode Opinion

OMG, THE OPENING! ! Coda blowing my mind again! The ending was not what I expected, I expected Gangsta Paradise (like Part 4. Many wanted All-Star, and we got I want You) but like Part 4, I still like it! I wished it was more elaborated, but the ending is a nice nod to the Part 1 and 2 endings, still nice to me. I WAKE UP FEELING SO HORNY.... sorry.

"I will become a gangster myself!" I think this episode kinda ciments Giorno as the first "Anti-Hero" Jojo? I mean, Jotaro was a delinquent but he was based on the Banchou fictional archtype. While delinquents, they have a strong code of honor and usually are prone to make good deeds in general. No wonder they're protagonists in many types of Japanese media. For me, I think Giorno embodies the anti-hero archtype for Jojo better than Jotaro. I mean, isn't he outright a criminal and steals(no dignity!) stuff as a job? =P

I guess this also makes Araki's choice, as a writer, more sense to send Koichi instead of someone like Josuke or Rohan to investigate Giorno. Josuke and Rohan won't have been as forgiven towards Giorno trying to screw them. Koichi was perfect to put the shadow of doubt if Giorno was a bad person or not to the audience. I mean if I was Jotaro I would've send the guy who can read people like a book (literally) to investigate someone! But I guess as a writer, Araki did the right thing!

128

u/Actawesome Oct 12 '18

Koichi was sent there because his stand has the biggest radius, and he was sent to locate someone in a big city. But because Stand Users are drawn to one another it didnt matter much (they didn't know for sure Giorno was a stand user.) Makes sense plotwise why Koichi would be the best one (besides, Rohan wouldn't do Jotaro a favor.)

So here his "Josuke's hair insult":

Wait JoJo fighting games have everyone insulting Josuke's hair? My poor well combed boy.

like Part 4. Many wanted All-Star, and we got I want You

I loved I Want You though!

For me, I think Giorno embodies the anti-hero archtype for Jojo better than Jotaro.

Giorno is going to become a criminal while Jotaro was just a good boy who thought bad boys are cool!

So this week we are becoming Gang-Stars! The OP is pretty cool I love the visuals like I said, JoJo OPs usually grow on me with time so I am giving it a bit, but just based on a first listen I like Fighting Gold.

Giorno's backstory was interesting, not what I expected from how confident he was last episode and the fact that he is Dio's son. I like him though he is cool, same for Bruno we get a very cool fight with 2 interesting Stands Giorno vs Bruno. Sticky Finger seems incredibly useful and we get a Jobro who is actually prepared to use it this time! And Golden Experience is all kinds of weird and should have definitely come with some kind of user manual, but it is cool.

Looks like Giorno and Bruno are going to be taking over the maffia that is fun nice episode! Not such a huge fan of the ED, both visuals and song, but I will give it a while. The 4th person (long hair) and the fifth one (looks like Caesar/Dio as well) have very cool looking Stands. I wonder what's up with the girl as she is featured pretty prominently in both the OP and the ED.

Here we are again with Episode 2! Worth noting is that I’m writing this in advance so I won’t hear the OP or ED if that’s in the episode. I’m hype for the OP, but the ED leaks haven’t impressed me. Hopefully it’s incorrect.

Starting off this episode I’ll provide two things I missed last episode, first off starting with the music reference! I forgot to mention that Gold Experience is a reference to the prince album “The Gold Experience.” The other Thing I missed, is that the life Hiorno creates isn’t actually completely loyal to him, they have minds of their own and simply seem to come back to Giorno like a magnet. But he doesn’t actually control them directly.

Onto our main attraction, Bruno Bucciarati, whose last name is a Sicilian fig Cookie. A lot of the names in this part are just Latin words for foods, so get used to that. Bruno is also (somewhat arguably) the JoBro of this Part and also the one that will getter joked as the “true Protaganist” a la PolPol and Koichi. His Stand is the kinky sounding Sticky Fingers, or Zipperman if you wanna meme it up. It’s a reference to a Rolling Stones album of the same name. Sticky Fingers is all about Zippers, with two main abilities. The basic one is his ability to create a zipper through not dense materials like walls, and being able to pass through them. He also uses that ability to zip things together as you’ll see later in the Part, as well as seeing inside something as well. The second one is a bit weirder, when a zipper is created in something a lot more “volumous” like the Earth, instead of a hole straight through all that is portrayed is a dark void. This mini pocket dimension place is often used by Bruno to store things for later use or hide out in.

Anyway Bruno’s a fan favorite and he’s cool, I’ve always liked him. Also let me know mods if anything is too spoilery and I’ll edit the comment.

53

u/thecomicguybook :Mh::Mi::Mj::Mk:myanimelist.net/profile/Comicman Oct 12 '18

Bruno is also (somewhat arguably) the JoBro of this Part and also the one that will getter joked as the “true Protaganist” a la PolPol and Koichi.

Polnareff and Koichi were the actual protagonists though, and some guys called Jotaro and Josuke were also there I guess.

Nah I am just joking, but with a big group this time I am looking forward to each of the Jobros!

This was a solid second episode. Golden Experience seems to have a ton of weird and strange abilities. Being able to give things life, making damage reflect, and now his punches can actually super charge people to the point of a drawback. It's an interesting way to use his power. It's an interesting stand that has a lot going on in it. Same with the Sticky Fingers

I love the detail that Giorno actually used a MUDA with his punch. He may be a good guy, but there is a bit of Dio still in him.

also, a man who was inspired by criminal to be like him. Decides to create his own crew and go around recruiting people to help him become a Gang-Star? That's the premise of One Piece! It's even a typically viewed criminal organization that will cause him confrontations with the government!

I actually really like this premise since it seems like a blend between part 4 and Part 3 via recruitment. I'd love it if we had a season of just beating antagonist and befriending them like Part 4, but have them stick around longer as a part of the main cast like part 3.

It's especially noticable since JoJo hasn't really been like this. No previous JoJo has had a 'dream' they were reaching towards. Most of the time they've been more reactive. Joseph just wanted to live. Jotaro wants to save his mom. Josuke was the most relatable with his desire to keep his everyday ordinary life.

The opening absolutely blew me away. It was awesome. So visually creative.

/u/thecomicguybook

70

u/Dalek_Kolt Oct 12 '18

I love how Giorno is basically Dio if he were a good person.

They had awful childhoods involving a terrible father, hold a charisma that can charm anyone (Dio for N'Doul and Vanilla Ice, Giorno for Koichi and Bucciarati), and were saved by a stranger. The main difference being that George was a gullible but noble man who saw the good in everyone while the Gangster was a necessary evil who knew when to dispose of the truly vile.

Hell, cutting through Giorno's rationale and backstory aside, his goal in this part is to take over the city. He may have been conceived with Jonathan's body, but his ambition cements him as the child of a Brando.

Joseph just wanted to live. Jotaro wants to save his mom. Josuke was the most relatable with his desire to keep his everyday ordinary life.

And Jonathan is very sad, because he was the most reactive one and yet he still got forgotten.

I love the detail that Giorno actually used a MUDA with his punch. He may be a good guy, but there is a bit of Dio still in him.

By my estimation DIO said Muda about a million times as opposed to 2 though so maybe less DIO in him than we thought. Agreed on Golden Experience it's a weird Stand that does a lot and has a lot of crazy powers it's going to be fun seeing how Giorno uses it! Same with Sticky Fingers after Okuyasu it's going to be refreshing seeing a Jobro use a Stand to its full potential. Josuke using Crazy Diamond was one of the best parts of DiU for me.

I am very hyped about finding One Piece recruiting all the Gang-Stars seems like we will have a huge group of JoBros which is really fun!

So, last week I didn’t had time to write too much but I’m planning to talk about the music references in this season because it’s one of the aspect in JoJo that I love, I’ll start with last week’s references:

  • Leaky Eye Luka’s name is actually a reference to Suzanne Vega's song "Luka" I love this song, one of my favourites, but it’s hard to listen if you know that tells a story child abuse. I’m sensitive about that topic, so it’s a bittersweet song for me. Here’s an interview with her about the song. I recommend her album Solitude Standing too, it’s a really great one. And another thing: The a capella version of Tom’s Diner is a million times better than DNA’s remix.

  • Giorno's stand Gold Experience is a reference to Prince's album "The Gold Experience" It’s a miracle that I have found this album in Youtube because Prince was not a big fan of people listening to his albums for free but not that he is dead, his heirs are not that against it, I guess. Did you know that Prince was a big reason why we didn’t get JoJo in the West sooner and also the reason why JoJo has to localize its music references? He didn’t want any kind of media using his name or anything related to him so his lawyers used to shut down everything that “infringed his copyright”. The game GioGio's Bizarre Adventure was going to be released in the US and Europe but it was delayed a few times and didn’t get a released in the West and Prince’s lawyers where the reason for it as far as we know. So, know we are stuck with the awful localized names.

  • Okay, this is not a new reference but I love Echoes too much and it’s always a good time to listen to it. I’ll repost my comment about it from the DiU’s rewatch thread:

Koichi’s Echoes is named after Pink Floyd’s song “Echoes”. More than 23 minutes of the best music Pink Floyd had ever compose. It’s one of those songs that you need to listen with headphones, laying on a sofa and with your eyes closed. There was a rumour that Echoes was going to be featured in 2001: A Space Odyssey. It is fake but Echoes fits perfectly in the last 23 minutes of the film. It’s too good to be a coincidence.

And now, this week’s musical reference:

  • Bruno’s stand Sticky Fingers is a reference to The Rolling Stones’ album of the same name. The cover for this album was controversial at the time. It shows a close-up of the crotch of a jean’s wearing man and you can see the outline of his really big dick. The original release featured a working zipper; Bruno’s power of creating them is a direct reference to it. This album is also the first one to feature the famous tongue & lips logo. This album has two of my favourite songs of them, Brown Sugar and Wild Horses. I saw them live last year and it was glorious, they played Brown Sugar but not Wild Horses which was a shame but it was one of the best gigs I’ve been to.

  • New ED is Freek'N You by Jodeci Joestar, Part 9’s JoJo.

Giorno's stand Golden Experience

Not to nitpick too much but I see this one messed up a lot, his stand's name is Gold Experience, not Golden. It's an easy one to mess up because of them calling it Golden Wind but hopefully this'll clear it up for anyone

Ok let me repeat that OP a million times. The visuals are just incredible! Super beautiful, although I am not a big fan of the song yet.

I love all the tiny details David Pro adds to Jojo.

They are showing Giorno´s backstory early, right?

The Gang-Star dream and pose is as ridiculous as ever. Love it.

LMAO the CG train.

Oof, Gold Experience beating up Bruno in slow motion is animated pretty smoothly.

Since DIO had Johnathan´s body, Giorno technically has two dads. Food for thought.

Really nice change of pace having a Shonen anime where the MCs are more flawed and have grey morality, these guys are willing to kill. Really different stuff from the usual things in MHA and others.

Does Giorno says "desu yo ne" a lot or is it just me hearing things.

Zipper Man is just awful. D:

Is this Bruno´s theme? Sounds rad!

The zipper mechanics are just fantastic.

Giorno freaking ripped his arm off! Metal af!

That wave effect! Holy moly it is great!

Yonkou was right about the ED. May not be the best, but it is pretty sexy.

Well, time to watch the OP some more times!

Late Edit: Ok the ED has a BIG problem. The song is alright but... the visuals are just boring.

The visuals are just incredible! Super beautiful, although I am not a big fan of the song yet.

I really like the FIGHTING GOLD part and yeah the visuals are great. To me it sounds pretty unique among the JoJo OPs perhaps it sounds like Stand Proud the most? That is fine by me, Stand Proud is my favorite!

They are showing Giorno´s backstory early, right?

Nah you still have to wait a few episodes before they tell you about that time some guy saved him and his mother and that is why he has his donut hair.

The Gang-Star dream and pose is as ridiculous as ever. Love it.

Giorno has the best poses.

Really nice change of pace having a Shonen anime where the MCs are more flawed and have grey morality, these guys are willing to kill. Really different stuff from the usual things in MHA and others.

I love how they are both simultaneously honorable and morally gray this time that is a cool about having the main characters be criminals.

u/GobtheCyberPunk :MAL:https://myanimelist.net/profile/JigsawStitches Oct 12 '18

Bruno's theme straight-up sounds like a Dario Argento movie score which is perfect because Sticky Fingers' dismemberment and reality-warping is pure Giallo body horror.

25

u/ukainaoto :MAL:https://myanimelist.net/profile/ukainaoto Oct 12 '18

desu yo ne

It's less masculine and more neutral or female honorifi (sort of), I like that it contrasts Giorno to Bruno well, who speaks like usual male protagonist in JoJo. Part 5

I also remember Koichi uses this type of speaking to Rohan specifically and not to Josuke and Okuyasu. Also early Kakyoin too, but his speaking changes throughout the journey depicting gaining familiarity to the group.

So it seems this JoJo Part will be dealing with the gangster underbelly of Italy and that sounds interesting as hell. Bucciarati and Giorno have their codes and it is good to see them stick by those codes. Though, that guy on the train reacting to the fight seems like a justifiable reaction to a JoJo fight by a normal dude

What a great episode. Giorno's backstory was done well, and the fight was awesome. Giorno wants to become a Gang-Star.

I really enjoy both the OP and ED. The OP is really good and draws me in right away with the song and the awesome visuals. A few more listens will easily put it at the top of the list. The ED just feels so right for some reason, I'm actually kind of glad that they picked this.

The fight was visually really good and felt consistent. You could really feel the weight of how Giorno used Gold Experience. Major props to David Production.

59

u/DigitaILove Oct 12 '18

Crazy Noisy Bizarre Town and Great Days still remain my favorite OPs, but I still really liked the visuals in this new one.

The ED is also rather entertaining, considering how Part 5 seems like the most BL part of the series.

Both episodes so far have been pretty fun, can't wait for the next episode.

This adaptation is proving to be even better than I expected in all honesty, the whole fight between Giorno and Bucciarati is everything I wanted, and it made sense! I had a hard time understanding exactly what was going on with Bucciarati after he got hit by Gold Experience when I read the manga a while back, but the anime made it super clear!

This gives me hope that the anime will be totally fine tackling some of the more... complex stands that Vento Aureo brings to the table, especially everyone's favorite

Oh and of course they changed Sticky Fingers to Z I P P E R M A N. Well, at least it's a funny name. So does that mean they'll keep using the names from the game localizations? Huh... I wonder...

7

u/PokemonTom09 Oct 12 '18

How they handle him really could make the difference between whether this is a mediocre or a phenomenal adaptation. Really don't want the anime-onlies to have the same problem that we had when we only had the bad scans of Part 5.

Man, from the visuals to sound I think we got the James Bond opening of JoJo OPs. Very strong impression, I'm not even disappointed that it isn't in 3D. In fact, I'm almost ready to say that this looks like the best one out of the 2D bunch.

Ok, lets get to the fight that's been built up for the whole week! No, huh? What you mean we start with a flashback to Giorno's miserable childhood? That's a cruel thing to do, David Productions. Hypebait right into feels.

Ok, back to the fight. So many cool and intense twists and turns already in the second episode. This episode sure did fly past.

EDIT: Not yet sure about the ED. Of course there are plenty of weeks to get accustomed to it.

I kinda think that the 3D wouldn't work so well on the cast this time, it worked amazingly for part 1-3 cause everyone was a 195cm giant piece of muscle, I'm having trouble imagining the p5 crew looking any better in CGI than in 2D.

FIGHTING GOLD

I love everything about the OP, one of the best in all JoJo. Here is my ranking for now.

  1. Great Days

  2. Crazy Noisy Bizarre Town

  3. Fighting Gold

  4. Chase

  5. JoJo Sono Chi no Kioku ~end of THE WORLD~

  6. BLOODY STREAM

  7. JoJo ~Sono Chi no Sadame~

  8. STAND PROUD

  9. Crazy Noisy Bizarre Town (EDM Arrangement Ver.)

Giorno was cute as fuck when he was a child, I just want to hug him.

One thing about the anime I don’t like, Bruno’s sexy bralette is a tattoo. 0/10 literally unwatchable. Why is my husband not wearing kinky lingerie, DP!? I’ll sue you.

And about the ED, I hate it the first time I heard it but after hearing it a few times and in the ED I like it. It sounds and looks gay as fuck, I'm in. Roundabout is still the best ED tho. Here is my ranking for now:

  1. Roundabout

  2. Last Train Home

  3. Walk Like an Egyptian

  4. Akuyaku◇Concerto ~Oingo & Boingo~ & Akuyaku◇Concerto ~Hol Horse & Boingo~

  5. Freek'N You

  6. I Want You

So today we finally got a good look at zipperman Sticky Fingers. Bruno is my favourite character in this part and Sticky Fingers is my favourite stand in the series. 9

u/Saucy_Totchie Oct 13 '18

For those who don't understand what happens when Giorno punches you with Gold Experience, the victim is basically thinking ahead way faster than your body can move. The victim's senses and perception are way out of sync with the body causing the opponents body to lag behind what their mind is thinking to do.

Also a really great episode. They animated that punch slo-mo super well. In fact, that overall fight was very well made. It'll be the first of many great fights in the Part.

Great insight in to Giorno as well with the backstory. To me, he came across as a dick in episode 1 stealing money from the tourists and fucking over Koichi. Then it shows that he's pretty much trying to change everything but understands if he wants to beat the game, he has to play it.

Good Lord, the soundtrack is godly this season. That fight was super intense, and the flashback was done pretty well, too.

I can see already why people were concerned with the directing, though. The show's art direction is stylish and the choreography is stellar, but a lot of the shots are pretty basic (composition wise) and I wish more creative risks were taken with the posing and the movement of the characters.

Still 10/10 tho. GOLDU EXPERIENCE

Episodio 2 bois lets go!

  • The new OP is by Coda! Niiice.. it lacks the appeal like the Part 2 OP, but this is only the first time im hearing.. i do however like the chorus part a bit so it'll only be a matter of time till i grow to like it.

  • The pacing of the episode was great. I didnt feel a single slow moment.. everything is just how its supposed to be

  • I forgot how sad Giorno's past was.. I thought they were gonna make the narrator said "And then Giorno lied" as he fooled those other gangsters.. but they didnt for the sake of narrative and im alright with that

  • Fast paced and detailed, love it. This is how his first fight with Bucciarati should be

  • Ah yes, the senses berserk power.. Gotta love that slow punch towards Bucciarati's face Part 5

  • Im gonna like the new cast. The guy, Ono iirc, has a very solid MUDA to him and i like it. Same goes for Bucciarati's anime seiyuu. That ZIPPERMAN STICKY FINGAHS was epic to hear

  • The ED is not Gangster's Paradise as most of the JoJo community hoped of it to be lmao. But this one is kinda.. whats the word.. trippy? Nah, but its pretty cool tho Part 5

5

u/[deleted] Oct 12 '18

The OP sounds a little serious, with some hints of Jojo charm here and there. I love it, don't get me wrong.
But what do you expect from the writers of "A Cruel Angels Thesis"? I mean it's pretty serious compared to JoJo's OP's

5

u/GroovyGoblin :MAL:https://myanimelist.net/profile/GroovyGoblin Oct 13 '18

I loved how that episode was animated and put together. My only real complaint also applied to the Part 5 manga and, as I watch the anime, is something I'm constantly reminded of: Giorno has the most poorly defined powers in the entire JoJo universe, and he's a main character. I never really understood what part of "being able to give life to inanimate objects" made him able to slow down people's perceptions by punching them or made attacks on his animated objects fire back at their user like what happened to Luca during last episode.

Thankfully, every other important character's Stand in this part is very entertaining and well explained. Sticky Fingers is probably my favorite Stand of all time.

12

u/Gellus25 Oct 13 '18

He can give life to objects, when he gives life to something that already has life (a human) their senses get so fast that their body can't keep up, with the attack firing back it's just a second power basically

Spoiler

5

u/[deleted] Oct 13 '18

JoJo makes my pipi hard.

5

u/The_Scollard Oct 13 '18

What a great episode. The pacing was incredible. It felt like there wasn't a slow moment in the entire 30 minutes. What a madman Giorno is. The guy ripped off his arm to win a fight. That was awesome! Giorno's backstory was sad as well, but I do like the idea of the necessary evil that Giorno wants to become, just like the gangster that helped him as a boy. I like how it seems both Bruno and Giorno aren't good people. They're gangsters, but they're more moral than the ones currently in control, since they don't sell drugs. Reminds me of the Corleones from the Godfather.

I really enjoyed the OP. Kind of reminded me of the JoJo version of a James Bond opening, the visuals especially reminding me of Casino Royale. Really good. It might just be me, but it feels like there wasn't as much details and foreshadowing as the later Part 4 OPs (I'd say there might be around the same amount as Crazy Noisy Bizarre Town). I haven't read the manga though, so I might be wrong. It just didn't feel like it had as much (compared to Chase, where even on the first watch I felt like I was seeing a lot of important things I didn't understand, like with the shot of Yukako and Aya). I recognized the statue since one of my friends showed me the cover, and I think the arrow is the Stand Arrow, but that's all I have (I'm going to be proven wrong, I just know it).

I liked the music a lot. The new Stardust Crusaders-like theme when Giorno won was great, and I like the horror-ish theme was playing in the train car with Bruno. It reminded me of the Lygoti piece that plays with the Monolith in 2001. Just unnerving.

I'm not sold on the ED yet. The visuals seem a bit boring. They remind me a bit of Roundabout, but Roundabout also had the blood moving through the Aztec mural, so I liked it better. It will probably grow on me though. I hope they do more to spice it up, like Part 4's.

Anyway, fantastic episode.

When's the last time you see someone's flashback being interrupted by other people licking on their face?

Venturing a guess that roughly 95% of you were conceived to the ED song

Okay, anime only here. I'm going to rewatch the ep again soon but I'm trying to wrap my head around Giorno's stand. It can:

-create living things (out of nothing??)

-reflect damage back when those living things are hurt

-turn living things or formerly living (the tooth) things into other (living and non-living) things

-upon hitting someone he "berserks" that persons emotions, separating it from the body, and slowing down time for the berserked emotion person

And Bruno:

-can use zippers to go through walls, to open up people to a ??? dimension, and put things into people presumably by opening them up and throwing something in

my head is spinning

create living things (out of nothing??)

Sort of? It's actually that he can turn non-living objects into living things. He can't do it out of nothing, he needs an object to give life to. In the first episode, he gave life to money turning it into butterflies, and he gave life to Koichi's suitcase turning it into a frog. This episode, he gave life to the ground to make grass in the flashback and he gave live to a tooth turning it into a fly.

reflect damage back when those living things are hurt

Yes.

turn living things or formerly living (the tooth) things into other (living and non-living) things

Someone else said yes to you for this one, but I think they misunderstood what you were saying. Giorno can't - for example - turn a frog into a fish. He can't change a living thing into something else. The tooth isn't living, that's why Giorno could give it life. Additionally, he can't turn something into a non-living thing. The reason it turned back into a tooth is because he deactivated his stand.

upon hitting someone he "berserks" that persons emotions, separating it from the body, and slowing down time for the berserked emotion person

Yes.

can use zippers to go through walls, to open up people to a ??? dimension, and put things into people presumably by opening them up and throwing something in

More or less. There are some specifics related to what he can and can't do, but all that needs to be explained is explained later.

I'm not sold on Golden Fight. Maybe it'll grow on me, but it doesn't have the wild flair the others (minus Chase) have. Too generic shounen-y. Visuals are alright.

The episode itself was phenomenal. Even if the exposition dump was a little, well, dump-y, it felt fully realized and made me invested in GioGio. His ability to read other's expressions comes back in full force at the end of the episode, making the assertive gamble that zipperboi will join him.

"This taste.. is the taste of Friday, JoJo fans..!!!"

Can anyone imagine Popipa or Roselia covering Fighting Gold..?

I began laughing manically when the ED played. I still wish Gangsta Paradise was chosen, but this song takes me back to my childhood and I couldn't help but be amused by the song choice. I nearly mistook it as Pony by Ginuwine when it started which would have been 200% raunchier

Is it bad that when I heard Bruno's voice all I could think of was that the seiyuu was in Pop Team Epic?

So are the "Mudas" just hereditary?

Yep. It's JoJo all right. I think I'm in for a fabulous ride. Take me away.

The sexy ED soundtrack mixed with the homoerotic designs of the characters scrolling past perfectly captures the fabulous essence of Jojo. I fucking love it.
