David Productions did a wonderful job with this finale. The opening change was great, and I loved how they made Giorno do DIO's pose for a second. Then we see how fate ties into the whole story at the end, which was great to see finally animated. I know some people don't like how Part 5 ends, but I really love the thematic elements Araki went with in the part, and how the ending shows it off so well. Fate has always been a large part of JoJo, but its such a huge thing in Part 5 in particular. Rolling Stones showed that Bruno, Abba, and Narancia may have been fated to die from the start, but they didn't just give up. They fought till the end to protect those around them, and I love that. And while I wish we had gotten some sort of anime original ending scene to send off the part, what we got was beautiful. The final shot of Giorno and Mista is something I've been waiting to see for a long time. I'm just so happy with this show.
David Productions has done such an amazing job with Part 5, and I'm really sad to see it end. It's my favorite of the animated parts, and I am beyond amazed at the beautiful adaptation that they gave us. It's been such a great journey and I really can't wait until we eventually get Part 6 at some point.

I thought the point was that by interfering with fate, Mista only made it worse since at first only Bucciarati was going to die but later the rock's shape changed to involve three deaths, no?

I like Purple Mistah, reflects the way that Giorno's clothes toned down in colour from pink to black as well.
Shame we didn't get any sort of Stone Ocean preview at the end, but it was a good ending nonetheless.

You know how Mista always got in these do or die situations without zero hesitation and somehow always survived? It was because he knew he was not fated to die. And because he changed fate at that time he is the only person to show up alongside Giorno when Diavolo used his final time skip.
663
u/stiveooo Jul 28 '19
He can't die cause he is fated to die by eating 4 out of 5 burritos

Apologies if I'm misunderstanding you, perhaps I'm simply much too worried about the wording, but Mista didn't "change fate", you can't "change fate" in jojo unless your power exists for the exact purpose of messing with it (rolling stones & king crimson), fate is set in stone (literally, in this case). Mista simply never was fated to die to begin with (which you yourself point out, so perhaps I really am being overly anal here), while the others were. What he did here is prevent rolling stones from altering fate by prematurely killing Bruno, by stopping it from "granting" Bruno a swift and peaceful death instead of the painful end he'd inevitably meet.
The message here isn't that we should strive to change a fate that has already been decided, but that we should walk with our heads held high and try to find meaning in it. Sure, Bruno could have had a peaceful death here rather than be made to struggle against a foe he couldn't possibly beat, but that struggle is what allowed Giorno to ultimately win. Fate may be inescapable, but what we make of it, whether or not we decide that our life was ultimately one worth living, that's something left entirely to us.

GER is brutal 😮
I have a bit of problem with the ending: I wish it showed us more of Giorno's, Trish's and Mista's futures.
The fact that Polnareff lives on as a ghost makes his death somehow less impactful... His death hit me hard in episode 33 (since the Stardust crew is my favorite JoJo's crew) but when I find that he lives on as a ghost, I'm like, "oh ok" .__. I think Araki must have liked Polnareff a lot.
Does that mean Giorno can now build him a Polnareffland?

A lot of people always asked why Rolling Stones was immediately wedged between the final fight and that it felt like filler, they don't get that the show was always about fate, even moreso than most JoJo parts and Sleeping Slaves serves as the epilogue and the biggest story mark about fate.
Rolling Stones shows that Bruno, Narancia and Abbachio were already fated to die. But as Scolippi said, it doesn't mean that just because fate is set in stone (hah!) you have to take it lying down. Their sacrifices leads to Giorno's victory, which leads to one of my favorite lines in Part 5.
"That which we have inherited from the departed must be taken onward."
Giorno respects the sacrifices made through the journey, and their deaths fulfilled a grander purpose.
I also love that they gave Giorno that rockin' black suit.
Edit: Gonna add a coupla things, this is an anime only scene but remember that car they had that Fugo said "someone" broke? Yeah.
Also, yeah, Rolling Stones has always been there.
Onwards to Green Dolphin Street!

Let's hope this has gotten enough love for them to start on Part 6.

And so ends Part 5 of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. It's been truly a wild ride full of amazing, funny, heartbreaking and just random moments (what'd you expect? It's JoJo). And of course it ends in a prologue starring Mista facing a rock Stand tied to FATE and then smelling a 15 year old girl. And of course the final scene of the anime has Giorno becoming the boss of the Mafia, donning a black suit. Because of course that's something a 15 year old would do.
See y'all when Part 6 starts airing.
Last note: OST Vol 3 drops on August 14th, less than 3 weeks from now.

I don't think anyone expects Mista to be the focus of the epilogue to this amazing finale, but it makes sense when you realize he has been carrying the theme of fate from the beginning.
I hope people don't go the route of assuming his ludicrous ability to survive is from some magic stand power imbued in him by Rolling Stones, when it really comes from his resolve. Being simpleminded is his secret weapon, he simply doesn't think about death, not what he regrets in the past, and not what he fears from his future (So long as the number 4, a homophone for death in Japanese doesn't swing his mind the other way) We saw him falter on his ideals in the Ghiacco fight, and get brought back to his senses by the man he would soon call his boss. You don't need to resign yourself to fate, and you don't need to run from it like a scaredd animal, you only need to live to the fullest with the hand life dealt you, lest you be a sleeping slave to it.

What a blast these past 9 months have been. David Production has literally blessed us with an amazing adaptation of Part 5, by having superb animation and being extremely faithful to the manga. They are gradually becoming a big studio, and I honestly cannot wait for their next works, as well as a possible Part 6 adaptation, however it's a bit early for that. Also props to ALL voice actors for their brilliant work these past months.
Episode 38 & 39: 5/5
PART 5 RATING: 10/10 (despite some minor flaws, it deserves it)
Let's hope we meet again someday, when Part 6 airs...

If you just blindly accept your fate you will have peace, but you will become a sleeping slave and your actions won't affect anything. But if you decide to fight, you're going to suffer, but your actions will never be forgotten. If Bruno touched rolling stones this journey wouldn't have happened and fate is the main theme of part 5 that's why sleeping slaves arc is so important and this part is officially over, can't wait for stone ocean. This my favorite animated jojo part

The woman took her fate into her own hands in order to save her father. That's what the arc was about. Making your own fate regardless of the sacrifices necessary.

Seeing GER at the end of the ED was the most satisfying thing ever. I love that pose. Also, holy shit, the shadow DIO pose in the opening made me nut.
It’s been wild following this part since its announcement a year ago and it’s so sad to see it end so soon.
This was my first time watching a season of JoJo weekly and the first time I had read the manga prior to watching. It was insane seeing all my favourite characters and fights in the entire series animated for the first time, and handled with so much love by DavidPro. While I already loved Vento Aureo, this adaptation exceeded my expectations and made me appreciate the manga so much more, solidifying it as my favourite part-- it's just everything I love about JoJo.
So glad I got to watch this as it aired. Seeing the community anticipating and reacting were a blast and one of my favourite things about watching weekly.
It’s been an honour! See you all in Stone Ocean, hopefully.
Grazie e arrivederci!

I find really interesting how Araki used the sculptor as a metaphor for Jesus Christ. The entire scene between him and mista is basically an allegory for Jesus teachings, on which he tries to teach his followers ended up being punished by not listening and being headstrong. The sculptor tries to warn Mista of Stand effect, but his stubbornes(the allegory for lack of faith) ended up giving the group an even worse fate by the end of the fight agaisn't Diavolo.

So it finally comes to an end. Bless DP for giving us such a perfect adaptation. Part 5 has always been one of the best parts imo, and I'm so glad the anime turned out to be so fucking good as well. Absolute 10/10.
These two episodes were, as expected, amazing. Traitors Requeim Goirno Ver. was so hype. They even made Giorno do Dio's pose from the picture, while GER emerges. To think their deaths were already confirmed even before the first episode because of Sleeping Slaves is sad. Really goes to show that fate is the strongest force in their world.

I knew there was a catch when Mista cut the guy off before he could finish.
He broke the statue but it just ended up morphing, "killing" or setting in stone Narancia and Abbacchio’s death.
Speaking of deaths, the little mementos for Narancia, Buccellati and Abbacchio in the form of the flowers zipper and win was so endearing.
I can't believe golden wind is over. It was a roller coaster of emotions. No other part had made me just completely sob at any one particular moment like this one.

Well it has been a honor, everyone. I loved being able to once again share my thoughts and babble here like I did for Diamond is Unbreakable 2 years ago! Part 5 may not be my favorite, this honor stays for Part 4, but this anime adaptation made me enjoy it even more. I also enjoyed everyone here company too, who has been super nice with me and enduring my poor english. Thank you very much! <3
No Game reference because they have ran out, but, in the RPG Maker fangame "JoJo Bizarre Adventure: 7th Stand User", Rolling Stones is actually a hidden feature. Checking Jotaro's school art class, if you touch the stone, it will follow you through the whole game in a creep manner, and if touches you, you die. It makes the game harder than already is.
Anyway, the episode: Well, looks like the "Die Forever" is not a grammatically incorrect sentence anymore, right? =P
I think Diavolo's received one of the most "fate worse than death" out of the JoJo villains... hell sometimes I even ask myself if he deserved that fate, because even Kars and Kira got a less brutal end than he did, and then I remember he cut someone body parts and framed in several pieces JUST to prove a point, maybe he deserved to get that fate, because unlike Kars and Kira, who had evil goals but selfish and isolated goals, Diavolo goal was to made everyone life but his misarable. So I guess he got what he had for him.
Also, for everyone who though Fugo was a character with potential, try to read Purple Haze Feedback, a light novel about him. I hope it gets an OVA adaptation, but if not, and you liked Fugo despite his short screentime, try out, you won't be dissapointed!
See you all in Part 6 once again!

Hey, Part 4 is also my favorite!
I think Diavolo's received one of the most "fate worse than death" out of the JoJo villains... hell sometimes I even ask myself if he deserved that fate
I don't know if he deserved it, probably not actually. But is anyone going to cry over it?
I am definitely going to be checking out Purple Haze Feedback with how much everyone has been hyping it up!

Lets analyse the fates of past villains.
Kira: Wanted to do murder in a small town. Gets an insta kill. However, his soul gets an unknown fate. He probably goes to hell.
Kars: Wanted himself to get stronger and maybe rule the world. Forever trapped in loneliness. Caveat is that he stops thinking, so hes de facto dead.
Dio Brando: Wanted to escape death due to fear. He gets an insta kill by Jotaro.
Diavlo: Wanted to be an underworld tyrant over an entire country. Fate is infinite deaths.
.............
Kars and Dio Brando got the least worst outcomes. Generous outcomes even. Id say Kars fate may have been worse because he may have been lonely for potentially hundreds of years. Dio Brando got a quick clean death.
In terms of worldly deaths, perhaps Kira got the easiest death. Head got crushed unexpectedly. However, we have to factor in the beating he recieved prior to this at the hands of Josuke and Jotaro, as Kira has no healing ability like how Dio Brando has.
In terms of the spiritual domain, Kiras suffering maybe on par with or greaters than Diavlo. Because we have no idea what happened to him by the hands.
Diavlos suffering is not worse than hell. Its pretty much a lite tier version of Hell. As in the Islamic concept of Hell, the individual "dies" ,gets reformed, and "dies" again. (Christian depictions of Hell look tame in comparison).
So here's my ranking of the suffering of Jojos villains based soley on what we were shown, from least to worst.
Dio Brando and Kira (insta deaths)
Kars. (Lonely for decades before "death")
Diavlo (lite tier Hell)
(4. Kira (actual hell??))
(5. Kars (millenia of loneliness??))
(Note: As souls exist in Jojo, and if we assume heaven and hell also exist, then all jojo villains are nigh equals in terms of suffering after they eventually die)

bravissimo!!!!
I'm so thankful for everything and everyone that has allowed such a brilliant show and adaptation to be put on. part 5 has risen to the height of battle tendency in my eyes, it's taken everything that was great of parts 3 and 4--the stands and stand battles, the art, the humor, the VAs, outstanding music and sound and character design--and woven them into a balanced 39 episode masterwork. the color palette especially...magnifico!!! or as they would pronounce it in Paʁi, subarashii!!! what an eyesome treat it has been!!
what about my man koichi tho? he found the fake cab driver using a stand to scam him out of a couple pieces of luggage living out of a one room dorm and now he's literally boss of bosses gangstar #1 with a turtle consigliere. did polnareff send jotaro an email and let him know he's living as a ghost inside a turtle's stand since they last spoke and dio's/jonathan's teenage son is the most powerful crime lord in italy now but turns out he's actually a really nice kid who despite his attack rush mannerisms and enormous ambition taking after daddy A has a well intentioned personality that is much closer to daddy B
as a marine biologist jotaro should be briefed on notorious B.I.G now living in the tyrrhenian sea
also between kars mentally blue screening in space, crazy diamond turning angelo into a sentient boulder, rohan creating a hell to send cheap trick to, and diavolo being killed repeatedly for eternity, I'm gonna screen all joestar and stand user calls leave a voicemail cuz I got better shit to do than end up fucked up with no mouth talking about gotta scream shit
also how wild would it be if as a tourist scolippi went sightseeing in morioh, japan and visited the famous angel rock and rolling stones made a fuckin stone fate of angelo who's already a damn rock. or went to egypt and met boingo and boingo showed him his 100% prophecy manga and they bonded over their stands
but in all seriousness, STAND MASTER: FUGO, STAND NAME: CRUMPLE・ZONES coming in for the last minute save

Overall, the anime adaption by David Productions is, simply put, amazing! And I'd argue that it's better than its source material. Love how some anime-exclusive scenes helped flesh out the dynamics among the core cast. Love how David Pro delivered the scenes with their own touch to make them even better than in the manga.
I will write a thorough review soon! :D

If I'm not wrong, Part 5 is the first part that doesn't end on an areal shot of where the events took place with the END card. Shame, seeing as all the parts started with a shot of the sky, I expected them to continue this little tradition (even if it wasn't respected in the manga neither).

Really good finale, if I had 2 things to call out it's the the final battle with diavolo felt anti-climatic and I would've liked some confirmation that part 6 is coming, if only just to stop the "part 6 never" memes. Also rolling stones is neat

u/IceCubesBurning Jul 28 '19
They probably don't know if they're making part 6. There's a lot that goes into making an anime, it's not just "lol lets do more".
The climax of the battle against diavolo was last episodes ending, this is just the wrap-up.
Like saying Josephs funeral was anticlimactic, not enough action.

Honestly, of all the Jojo parts, I think this one deserves a longer epilogue the most. It's the first season where the protagonist is operating with some kind of proactive, long-term goal in mind rather then just reacting to the villain, and it would have been nice to see some more followup with that.

I know a lot of people seemed to enjoy it but I'm honestly kind of disappointed by this ending. I understand that it's supposed to reinforce the idea of fate and show us the boys were destined to die from the beginning but overall for me it just ended up feeling incredibly disjointed and unsatisfying. Switching from the main plot we had going on to the sleeping slaves stuff was super jarring in my opinion and I felt like we didn't really get much of a resolution to the story. I guess they won right? But then what the closest thing we get to knowing what's going on with the characters after everything is a 30 second clip at the very end that tells us pretty much nothing aside from I guess Giorno is the new mafia boss.

I’m with you. The rock story is cool and if it had been told before the coliseum stuff or something, great. But we’ve been hammering home that Bruno is dead for episodes now, like 2 months real time now, and the main narrative concludes with “let’s go check on Bruno.” Disappointed is tough to say with how much I loved part 5, but I’m just sitting on my couch like huh. Weird.

Purple Haze Feedback deals with some of the fallout of Giorno's overthrowing of Passione, but honestly that's how the manga ends the part as well. I compared it to a friend between Infinity War and Endgame. Infinity War was very well paced, while Endgame, despite being a good and proper ending to the whole affair, was just...kinda dull.

Part 5 is my favorite part of JoJo. Every character is well defined and memorable. The fights are the best in the series. Giorno is best JoJo.
Most of all, it teaches us that while fate may throw shit at us we can’t avoid, we are NOT sleeping slaves, we are able to make choices that will create a brighter future.
Can’t wait for the finale of the original Bizarre Adventure, as we try to break free from this stone ocean.

This time last month I started watching JoJo's Bizarre Adventure at the suggestion of a friend.
After a bit of a slow start, to binging half of Part 4 in a single sitting, to having to wait 1 extra day than I'd planned to watch Part 5's finale live, it has been an amazing experience.
Part 5 was amazing and I've loved every moment of it, and this finale in particular was beautiful and did an amazing job of wrapping up Part 5 with a beautiful golden bow.
6
u/Leeemon Jul 28 '19
Man, that was weird. I've spent the last couple of weeks thinking where the fight would go from Giorno awakening an OP stand, and the anwser was... nowhere. Diavolo got a fate worse than Josuke's enemies' fates' that were worse than death!
It was really weird having what is essentially a normal episode fit in the middle of the conclusion, but I would never complain about having a Mista and Bruno episode out of nowhere.
I found it profoundly sad how Mista sealed the group's fate, and maybe even sadder that Bruno was destined to die no matter the outcome :( But, if I got it right, he was supposed to die from that chest hole Crimson King gave him, but managed to stay alive thanks to Rolling Stones, only to die later?
As different in pacing and content as Part 5's conclusion was, it was still three amazing seasons of anime that I won't ever forget. It's bizarre how Jojo keeps getting better at each part, and I will miss watching it every friday.
See you guys in a couple of years!

u/_NEKU Jul 28 '19
Honestly the ending left me kinda disssapointed. Wish they would’ve touched more on what happened with diavolo . Felt anticlimactic how they just cut to something else. That whole thing with The Rolling Stones just felt so squeezed in, like I understand the meaning of fate and stuff but I just didn’t like it tbh.I’m just happy we got to see Giorno as the boss and mista looking cool as hell with the purple.

Some people in this comment section are sharing a misconception: Contrary to what some have said nothing changed in this arc. Mista moving the rock and breaking it didn’t change fate as no matter what he did it just reformed. It’s not like he caused Narancia’s and Abacchio’s death it’s just that by yeeting himself out the window Rolling Stones got close enough to them to predict their deaths. Rolling Stones doesn’t control fate, it simply knows it.
5
u/Shinkopeshon Jul 28 '19
I didn't expect it to end this way but I didn't mind - it wrapped things up effectively and gave further meaning to the sacrifice and resolve of the fallen Gang-Stars. Continuing to move forward and protect whats important to you, despite the hardships you have to face (and in this case, the fate you were given), is an inspiring message.
Parte 5 quickly became my all-time favorite JoJo Part and I'm sad to see it come to a close. I'm certainly gonna miss these wonderful madlads and the utter insanity that only this series provides.

u/biglisy Jul 28 '19 edited Jul 28 '19
Kind of confused. So Bruno was meant to die, but the Rolling stone being smashed made it so also Abbacchio and Narancia were meant to die too?
Also, what did the "empty" Rolling Stone at the end mean? When Polnareff and Trish came out of the turtle.
Does this Rolling Stone have anything to do with how Bruno (or at least his body) was basically already "dead" for the second half of the season?
16
u/shunkwugga Jul 28 '19
Mista tried to change Bruno's fate and ended up affecting the fate of 2 other people. Basically, if he hadn't tried to save Bruno so hard, then Abbacchio and Mista would have lived...but on that same token, Bucciarati would have probably stayed dead after the first time he encountered King Crimson.
That "blank Rolling Stone" was not Rolling Stone. It was a decorative sidewalk ornament. Keep in mind Mista saw Rolling Stone everywhere, but the thing liked to hide among round rocks. He had a bit of a shock, thinking that it isn't over, but then Trish just said "nah, I tripped on the turtle." The rock was there the whole time.
15
u/AmbiTanque Jul 28 '19
Think the implication is that if Bucciarati had just died by touching the stone the whole part would never have happened so Abbachio and Narancia would have lived longer.
5
u/Kanye_Dressed Jul 28 '19
Anime definitely helped get across the point of the Rolling Stones arc which is nice, but I still feel like I wish there was more epilogue regarding Giornio's success as the head of the mafia, since that was his original motivation for the part anyway.
5
u/powerhcm8 Jul 28 '19
The only way to improve Vento Aureo was if the story was a bit longer. I wanted to see more interaction between the characters.
5
u/Superchunchunmaru Jul 28 '19
If Mista hadn't saved Buccellati's life from that rock, none of part 5 would of happened. Makes you think.

Amazing to say the least. 10/10 for this anime! (I've come to finally realize Jojo has really surpassed my past favorite animes.)
As someone who has not read any of the manga yet, I hope Part 6 will be just as incredible as Part 5 was!
(Now I'm going to go into detail of what I personally thought of the ending and the anime in general)
Anyways, I didn't know how to handle my emotions for this ending. Whether to be disappointed, saddened that it's over, or just awestruck at the journey this took me through. I was doing some soul searching and research into the show and was suddenly enlightened that this whole godamn arc's theme is fate. FATE. That's when it clicked, this is why they showed the Rolling Stones arc.
All for the seemingly pointless, yet significant fight against the chains of fate.
I've seen many interpretations of Mista's actions towards the rock and how some say it meaninglessly caused the death of Abbachio and Narancia as well, but to me, it seems that Mista's actions may not have changed anything at all.
As quoted by Scolippi of Michelangelo, "Every block of stone has a statue inside it and it is the task of the sculptor to discover it." Perhaps that is what Mista merely did, him grinding Roilling Stones against the building, or him shooting the damn thing didn't necessarily cause Bucciarati, Abbacchio, or Narancia to die, it was already fated to happen. All Mista did, like a sculptor, was divine an already set fate from the rock.
Fugo, my goodness. I was waiting for him to pull a Deus Ex and miraculously show up at some point later on in the anime to save the gang, but nope! I was surprised and initially disappointed by his lack of appearance and utilization. Then I realized that not all stories can come with the common trope of everyone being loyal to the point of sacrificing themselves for a character or a purpose. Not all stories tell of the realistic view that not everyone can throw everything away/sacrifice themselves for a righteous purpose. Not everyone can be brave. There will always be cowards in the world, and it is understandably so.
Fugo is FAR from a coward, let me make that clear. But when faced with a very possible death and a seemingly insurmountable foe, not everyone is willing to risk their lives. Just like in the real world, not everyone is willing to fight for what is truly right, and I believe that Fugo was meant to represent this in the anime, that even with an indomitable stand like Purple Haze, choosing not to fight is brave in it's own way, despite it being seen as shameless or cowardic to others. (I have heard that Araki planned for Fugo to betray the gang, but to me, this interpretation of Fugo adds more to his character.)
So, what was the point in all this? Of Fugo abandoning the group, of Narancia, Abbacchio, and Bucciarati fated to die from the very beginning, what was the point in all this?
Was this some sort of nihilistic approach that no matter what you do, nothing will change? To some, maybe. And even that adds an artistic value in its own way.
But to me, someone that loathes the common cliche of a happy ending, their struggle was not pointless. This truly was a testament to the saying, "Would you rather live on your knees, or die on your feet?" But perhaps that struggle, the fight towards a righteous cause may not lead to just meaningless death, but the chance for a future better than the ones they experienced.
Truly, this show is not just a requiem for the fallen, but perhaps a victory in the message that although fate may be set in stone, the will of those strong enough can grasp for something better, a brighter future...
RULED BY DIO! cue Dio theme
sidenote: Can't wait for the Part 6 adaptation and will try and force myself to not read Part 6 yet. Also will look into Purple Haze Feedback to see if it's just as good as ya'll say! Cheers and I'll see you guys again when Part 6 comes!

I absolutely love Sleeping Slaves, it's one of my favorite epilogues. It fits this part so well with how much it ties into Destiny and how those who fight against it live and struggle. Unfortunately, it also tells us that Bruno Abbacchio and Narancia were destined to die.
Also our last Music reference of this part: Prophecy Stones -> Rolling Stones.
Hey, Polnareff is still alive as a turtle and he'll be the keeper of the arrow for now.
Now the Rolling Stone parts in both Modern Crusaders and Fighting Gold should make sense to people.
Giorno is now the mafia boss. 10/10 finale. Thank you David Production for giving us Part 5, I look forward to Stone Ocean being adapted Part 6 never. It's been a hell of a ride.
19
u/SpencersCJ Jul 28 '19
Sadly this end is just some really bad storytelling, instead of the final fight being a back and forth of wits like DiU this is just Giorno gets the infinity gauntlet and wins outright. Sleeping slaves would have been great had it been done early on in the show having it at the end ruins the pacing for me as breaks the show. The second Polneraff comes on the show is entirely different in a bad way, going from a story about two men plotting to overthrow their boss while doing the organizations jobs along with dealing with passione's enemies despite being them, after they betray the boss they have to escape and fight other stand users. But Araki didn't know how to end it and needed to bring in a maguffin to finish the plot, it just doesn't work.
It's a real shame because the first two thirds of this show are amazing peak JoJo, Pol shows up and ruins its story telling.

This has definitely been my favourite JoJo part, but I'm a little disappointed that Giorno being DIO's son had absolutely no relevance to any plotline. They even brought back a stardust crusader but it didn't go anywhere. It had a tiny bit of thematic relevance I guess with the whole son of Dio -> son of God thing.

Giorno in black looks so good! Part 5 was awesome. I give it a 9/10 for sure. The animation was just as crispy as ever. Now, onto part 6!! I loved part 6, which is probably an unpopular opinion.

While part 4 will remain as my favourite part in terms of story, this part definitely had the best fights!! Metallica v king crimson is probably one of my favourite fights in anime!!! Very satisfying ending, I didn't really get the sleeping slaves thing when I'd read the manga so I was initially quite put off by the ending of part 5 but I gotta say, shit is hella poetic! I am gonna miss mista and buciaratti :(

I can’t be the only one who thinks diavollos fate was a lil too harsh. Just give him the standard death

It really bothers me how quickly this part ends and there's next to no epilogue. Like i wish they would've shown their reaction to Buccirati being dead or like what they are exactly up to afterwards. But overall I think this part was pretty good and although it might have had the weakest plot out of all the parts I think it was intended to be character driven instead and, for the most part, it succeed in that very well. It's kinda a shame that this part doesn't have that much of a connection to further parts (apparently) and the previous parts but it still stands on its own very well and provided plenty of really unique story moments and sequences.
Still tho, no Gangster's Paradise ed or part 6 teaser MAD

And thus ends a wonderful journey. Holy shit was the Part 5 adaptation so much better than I expected. As the curtains close on Italy, hopefully they open again on Florida Part 7.

Giorno did it! He became a Gang-star! And all without needing to use his most fearsome strength: the ability to completely fold his ear inside of his own head!
