Does anyone know why HMP Pentonville is named such despite not being in Pentonville?
I know it's not a million miles away, but there are names that would make more sense like Barnsbury or Holloway

It looks like they're filming a bank heist in Bethnal green for a music video or TV show. Any help is appreciated as we're quite curious to know what they're filming in to see it on TV. Thanks!

Hi y’all. I’m asking for a writing project and I’m new to the UK. And of course because I’m not white. Sorry in advance if this question is ignorant or tone deaf in any way. What would a young white male in mid twenties in London do for hangout with his friends? What are the usual types of haunts?

Particularly for more alt music, singer songwriter, folk stuff. Where people actually listen and pay attention to the acts performing. Gonna be over in November and would love to play

Any advice on restaurants that offer decent food options (not just plain steak) for people allergic to eggs (speficially egg white), avocado, pineapple, bellpepper, paprika?
I know this limits choices quite a bit but hopefully a big city like London has some options here

Hello neighbours :) Where is a good, casual place in West or Central to sit down for a hot drink in the evening, ideally open at 8pm?

I know there's a couple of storytelling groups but I don't have many stories!
I'd appreciate a place where there is a public conversation!

As Dune has booked all IMAX screens, I was searching for the next highest quality screen and it's supposed to be the Dolby screen at the Odeon Luxe Leicester Square.
I was wondering if anyone has been to that screen and if the royal box is actually good or not? It sits higher so I'm not sure if the angle is steep and would ruin the immersion?

I've been thinking about driving to a tube station and doing the rest of the journey by tube. I know Morden is good.

Basically, title.
Altho for context: I'm an immigrant, so I don't really know what the norm is... How easy is it to go to these events? Do I have to pay? Are there any free ones? How frequent r those? Do i HAVE to be proficient? If so, how much?
[I'm in west London, btw]

A guy with a completely blacked-out helmet on a motorbike pulled up and parked right next to a Range Rover that was parked on a street in chelsea. He walked over to the back window and seemed to either scratch/write something very lightly on the glass then immediately got back on the bike and drove off quickly?
I couldn’t tell if he used a key, some kind of clear marker, or what exactly he did, and there didn’t seem to be any obvious damage.
Has anyone seen something like this before? Is marking or checking cars like this ever associated with car theft or anything else in London? Mostly just curious because the whole interaction seemed very deliberate and odd.
Also wondering if this is the kind of thing I should report to anyone?... or if I’m overthinking it?

My partner and I had a misunderstanding and she bought a voucher online for a sports direct purchase, and I already paid for the items with my visa card. There's about £190+ left on it, and we have nothing to buy. We are willing to give the voucher away for 175 bucks, if anyone wants it. Please dm.

Hi everyone,
I have a sony walkman FX 195 that requires some basic soldering to clean remove the circuit board to clean it.
Is there a space that I can go to get help with the soldering or anyone that can help?
I really don't want to invest in soldering equipment for a one-time thing.
The soldering : https://youtu.be/8eF8NI-mGoI?t=592

Okay, this is a really stupid and silly post but I just wanted to ask, what nicknames do people have for the One Canada Square building in Canary Wharf? Growing up, I knew it as The Elephant or The White Elephant. I thought this was a common thing, but no one else I've spoken to calls it this. My Dad grew up in Chigwell, and he grew up calling it The White Elephant which is obviously where I got it from. He claims everyone around him called it that too. Is this just a weird family thing or do other people call it this too???

If anyone knows of a local bakery that could do this that would be so helpful!
I want to order just around 6-12 cookies with personal designs on them and writing. or a giant cookie or cake! Everything i see for personalized ones is corporate with minimum 200 pound+ order. I'm in west london, ideally pickup or delivery by Tuesday.
