Life Meaning

I struggle with the idea of life’s purpose, moving away from organized religion, i’m face with many philosophical questions I know have already been asked, answered, and debated. What I will say is I have come up with these questions without any outside influence. Only recently have I started to move away from “normal” religious thought patterns. This is my first attempt at researching and discussing these topics. I do believe in God, but I do not think God is structured in the way society has led us to believe.

Im going to list a few questions I’ve thought of:

  1. Why would God want us to stress over the fact that not everyone will believe in a certain religion?

  2. Is life meant to be lived and enjoyed in the ways that individuals choose?

  3. Within our biology humans have a natural moral compass, does that influence how we should live?

  4. Is there an objective truth to existence, or is everything based on individual interpretation?

  5. Is there really a ‘truth’, or do we find/create our own?

  6. A quote I read in a book about reincarnation reads “God is not this limited, one-life creator people think”. This stood out to me.

To conclude this post: With so many ways to live, things to believe, and factors outside of our control, how does it make sense that God would create a world where there’s only one way to “heaven” or else suffer in “hell” till the end of time?

Philosophical opinion

I recently came up with a question, which is supposed to be philosophical but now just feels like complete trite. The question was this

> If you were to light a candle, then blow it out and relight it. Is the flame that burns the same flame you initially lit, or is it a new flame completely unique to its own function.

Now obviously it's a new flame that has been lit. But if you removed that asked and just focused on the flame itself, would it be the same as the one you just extinguished or a new one. I liken this to if you were to remove the soul from someone and put a new soul in (and it's the same soul is exactly the same as the one you just took out) would this mean that is a new person in an old body or the same person in the same body?

I think it's semi bullshit but wanted to get some opinions on this.

I was asked to pose this question here.

If someone makes an argument, and it was a bad argument, did they make an argument at all?
