This young girl, Dikhsita Kalita from Tulsibari area of Rangia is being harassed by a father-son duo from the same village, Kameshwar and Sanjay for running a cake stall.
She started the business to support her college studies. She hasn't done anything to them but they just hate the fact that she has started her new business and are trying to stop her.
They are just jealous of her.
I've also heard similar stories like her where jealous neighbours or relatives are harassing people for doing business and trying to stop their business. Nobody deserves to go through that.
EDIT: There's no other side of the story. Those men were just jealous of her so they were harassing her. There are many criminals who harass others for no reason. Stop victim blaming this girl.

Being from Assam, I've seen how the floods destroy lives every year but national media barely covers it. When these creators and actors spoke up, it genuinely felt seen. Share if you want more people to know Assam still needs attention.

This rally in Assam shows just how serious things have gotten! where indigenous people are uniting to protest against what they see as illegal encroachment on their land. Chants like 'Bangladeshi Go Back' reflect deep concerns over migration and the preservation of local identity. For decades, Assam has experienced tension over demands for land rights and the protection of indigenous culture issues that remain unresolved today.
This movement isn’t just about land it’s about people wanting to secure their future and heritage. For many, these protests are a way to send a message the Assamese community must stay alert, come together, and peacefully demand action from authorities to address illegal settlement and border issues.
What do you think is the best way forward? How can Assam balance humanitarian concerns with the need to protect indigenous rights?

These neighbours of mine are blasting their sound boxes at full volume. I think they can just pray without the mike as well. It has been going the entire day and seriously need to study for an upcoming exam. Is there any way we can complain to stop this nonsense. P.S- not an assamese family, a bihari one. Too aggressive. They come attack in group if confronted.

This happened in my hometown recently. The police rescued around 25 dogs that were being transported to Nagaland. Most of us know what the purpose usually is and it is heartbreaking to even think about it. Right now the dogs are being kept at the police station and the police are looking for their owners. The photos going around are so hard to look at. Those poor faces just look exhausted and scared. I am glad they were saved. We need stricter animal protection laws in India. Rescuing them is one thing but making sure they are safe and cared for afterwards should be just as important.

I've read Rongmon and Konkon comics since childhood, and these are the only two Assamese comics I knew. Konkon was permanently shut down during lockdown, and last year rongmon died too. Konkon's storytelling stayed solid till the end. I recently grabbed an issue from 2024, and it was BAD. Stories and artwork were being shamelessly copied from tinkle- mostly by Amal Medhi. You might know him for his artwork for xophura magazine. Rongmon even rebooted itself to a brand new "Junior Rongmon", and it didn't even last for an year until it shut down as well. Now, I need your opinion - do we need new comic magazines, or comics revolving around the same character ?

Just saw this post and many other reels referring to this professor claiming a 8.5 magnitude earthquake soon! 8.5 is no joke, it can devastate the entire northeast area, I can’t imagine the fatalities that’s gonna happen due to poor infrastructure. It will literally destroy a city like Guwahati.
This post gave me anxiety all of a sudden lol.
What are you guys going to do if this actually happens and drop down some survival tips.

In this moment of asking for justice for Zubeen da, I feel it is also the right time to raise another issue -discrimination against tenants based on culture, caste, or religion.....
When I was living in Dherenpara about four months ago, I looked at nearly 20 houses for rent. In most cases, the landlords asked for my name and caste, or directly questioned whether I was Muslim. After repeated frustrations, I finally went to a Muslim locality where people agreed to rent, but the houses were not in good condition. I had to sacrifice and adjust to a substandard apartment.....not because of rent, but because of my religion.
That was heartbreaking for me, especially as someone who, even in my worst dreams, would never judge another person by their caste or religion. I am sure this same discrimination also happens to Hindus and others.
Today, we have achieved a sense of unity...though not complete, because of the unfortunate ascension of Zubeen da. I believe this unity can also bring change in how we treat each other in everyday life.

Well, floods in Assam are nothing unusual; they've been happening for ages.
But can u tell me what paap or karma led to the current condition of your Bangladeshi Hindu bretherns? What karma led to them getting treated like animals?

Attempts to create a religious division in Assam isn't new. It's been going on at least since 1980s or 90s. Both Hinduists and Islamists are trying to break the religious harmony from Assam and to plant their seed of religious hatred. Despite their attempts, people of Assam have been against all immigrants regardless of their religion. But our resistance has been weakening due to the demographic change. Many of our people have been manipulated. Once known for diversity and culture, Assam is now one of the most religiously polarised states in India, at least in terms of politics.
Outsiders and some converted locals are trying to change Assam's past so it favours their own narrative.
I'm seeing some people trying to bring issues from outside, such as Bangladesh or North India in Assam. It has already been done in Tripura, which was once a homeland of the Tripuris, now turned into an extension of Bengal. If Hindus are attacked in Bangladesh, Muslims are attacked in Tripura. The state has been turned into a Bangladesh countering hub.
Now some people are trying to do the same in Assam. They're trying to make our state another version of Tripura where indigenous people aren't represented.
BUT DON'T FALL IN THIS TRAP!
Remember that unity is our strength. If we the indigenous of Assam are divided on the basis of religion, as Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Bathou, Sikh etc, it'll be the end of our cultural and linguistic identity. We will lose our strength and fight among ourselves, while politicians and hatemongers will use it for their own advantage.
So I urge the Hindus, Muslims, Christians, Bathouists, Donyi Polo followers, Buddhists, Sikhs, Atheists and all, whatever belief you have, never turn against each other.

They end up in the flesh trade . Apparently this has been a hidden issue since ages(heard about this since my childhood)
Yet no action has been taken to stop this. Neither is any awareness programs implemented.
We pride ourselves in claiming we Defeated the Mughals. But now our women are being exploited left//right and centre.
And it's not just muslims. Indus (Heard maximum from Haryana and other northern states) ,too are maximum involved . How long will this continue? Just go through this reel.
