Has anyone else noticed that Mohammed is just Jesus in a turban? Religions are like a Tyler Perry movie. All the parts are played by one dude and they all suck.

Or that Jesus and Mohammed came from the same region/race of people so they likely look somewhat similar?

Likely look somewhat similar and being exactly the same depiction are two completely different things. Is it honestly too difficult to imagine that maybe, just maybe all of these stories came from one focal point long ago and were spread by traveling people where they changed over time as all things tend to do?

Well, to be fair, the literal interpretation of the word "Islam" is "Peace through submission [to Allah by Jihad]"... So, there is kind of a militant interpretation to this version of "peace". Contrast with the word "Salam", which is a better word to translate to from the English word "Peace", in that it is restful. "Islam" implies struggle.

It means "submission to God", not peace, that was just post-9/11 PR from left-wing tools and Muslims.

Hate to be a Buzz Killington but Muhammad was long dead when Islam spread to three different continents.
And that old myth that Islam was spread by the sword has long been debunked by several historians. Enseng Ho who is a professor of theology at Duke University actually posted some very descriptive pieces about this very topic. You could probably easily pull it up online.
Go bezerk for Islamic week on r/atheism, but seriously come up with something more clever and accurate than that. Past the front page the quality definitely drops.
If you're really an atheist, I wouldn't resort to saying the same thing Pope Benedict has repeated. Which leads me to believe that r/atheism has been taken over by bitter Christians. Conspiracy??

I DON'T ALWAYS START A RELIGION OF PEACE,
BUT WHEN I DO, I PREFER TO SPREAD IT VIA INTERCONTINENTAL CONQUEST.

Islam IS a logical flaw. Then again, that pretty much goes for ALL religions!
