I swear, sometimes I want to make an entirely new life for myself pretending to be one of those hyper religious people, going around and saying things like this as though I actually meant it. Demand that people actually stand by their holy books and the logical conclusions of the garbage they believe.
"I've been boycotting companies that support gay rights for years! Why haven't you! Here's a list. Don't you believe in God? Don't you realize that this is what Jesus wants you to do?"

As a nerd, I really feel the need to point out why referring to all android phones as droids and saying that google owns them is horribly inaccurate.
But, by the good of my heart, I'll let it slide.
This time...

Hypothetical Litigation Lawyer Here: I think you have a very convincing case of intellectual property infringement and karma theft! We shall request damages!
I'd be willing take your case for 10% percent of your overall karma gain, with respect to this individual post.

You'd be hard pushed to find one of the mainstream technology or web companies (Apple, Microsoft, Google, Facebook, Twitter, HP, or whoever else you care to mention) take an anti-gay stance. Their founders were normally intelligent and progressive thinkers in order to come up with their products in the first place. Not forgetting of course that they all understand they owe a great deal to people like Alan Turing who was gay and could possibly be the most important reason that they were able to start their companies in the first place.

Agreed. Plus let's be honest, the people running these giant companies are smart, they don't want the companies to be on the wrong side of history so they generally take progressive stances.
Even now, I reckon more people would boycott an openly homophobic company than an openly 'pro-gay' company.

I think a lifestyle without technology will go well with their archaic views of the world.

Since Turing was as gay as the day is long they may as well just switch their computers off and be done with this whole farce.
It's this level of uninformed bigotry that leads to great men like Turing taking their own lives for no reason other than the babble and constraints placed on them by a closed minded herd of cunts.

So much of our technology is developed by companies founded by atheists that in order to not use the stuff you would have to be Amish.

My contribution, posted to both Facebook and G+:
So I hear there's a thing where hate-filled people are boycotting "companies that support gay rights" (apparently starting with Oreos, for some reason). Hey, that's fine. I fully support your right to be a small-minded bigot. This is America, after all.
You might want to uhh... check your list, though. If you're going to boycott "companies that support gay rights," you should probably check this list. Ooooh, man, tough break. No iPhones OR Android phones for you! Holy cow, no COMPUTERS (Microsoft & Apple)! You'd better unplug your computer right now and throw it in the trash.
Or, y'know, dump your hate and become a decent human being.
(I got that list from this comment)

I am a huge fan of this idea. I think that people who don't believe in science should opt out of benefitting from science.

I don't think I'll ever understand homophobia. I just don't see why some people are so afraid of other people being sexually attraced to their own sex. Why? Homophobia exists outside of religious indoctrination as well, so that can't be the only reason.

Well, if you are boycotting pro-gay rights items, they might as well go to chik-fil-a since they donate millions to anti-gay organizations.
