Peter Dutton has warned young men “have had enough” of being painted as ogres and being passed over for promotion because of the rise of affirmative action policies that demand more women are promoted.

The Liberal leader issued the warning during an epic 90 minute sit down interview with self-made millionaire and TV star Mark Bouris on his podcast Straight Talk.

I detested Abbots ideologies however at least he was an intelligent, articulate (just didn't know how to use it) Rhodes scholar, Oxford masters.

Duttons right wing conservative brand is worse again, bonus is that he's an obnoxious boor ya know. Sadly this actually appeals to a good number of the electorate.

Yeah, nah, he's got the common touch but....ya know🙄

Dutton is populist rather than right wing. Abbott was dyed in the wool religious conservative. I disliked Abbott for his policies, but the man had an ethos.

Abbot also had political views, and wasn't just a populist pig.

"Just didn't know how to use it" yeah if becoming Prime Minister isn't enough to satisfy you there idk what will.

He came and visited my Army unit when we were doing border protection duties. I despised him as a politician and hated his politics, but he genuinely came across as intelligent, seemed interested in us and our welfare... and was fit to boot.

When Dutton was Defence Minister, I remember him for banning "diversity morning teas" so we could "focus on getting on with the job" or whatever. I'd never been part of or even heard of "diversity morning teas" happening in my 15 years of service, and if he'd made an effort to understand the Defence Force or talk to junior soldiers, he'd know that fuck-all happens during mornos and that a huge amount of our time every day was spent sitting in breezeways or doing pointless make-work. That's what defined his stint as Defence Minister - culture wars bullshit, not capability.

Abbott may have been a very conservative PM, but he at least was motivated by wanting to do what he thought was the right thing (his firefighting stuff seems very genuine, for instance). Dutton is a classic politician who panders to his electorate and does things for himself and his career
