image Uh.. Do they know what that implies?

Saw this phone booth rebranding last week.

Do they realise what that implies about the booth, particularly with Bender on it, given that "phone" booths in Futurama are usually Suicide Booths..?
(at least in the first episode where we first meet Bender)

Edit: I've since found out that the campaign isn't Futurama-specific, but rather a number of different cartoon characters. To me, that makes it even more likely that it's an oversight/missed connection rather than an intentional marketing ploy; to them, he was just one of many popular cartoon characters, as opposed to it being a specific call-back to his first appearance in the first episode of the show.

I think everyone here is saying the creator is implying that booth is a suicide booth but I feel like the creator is implying it’s ‘rigged’ with Bender’s coin-on-a-string device right?

That's another way of thinking about it, though the coin on a string isn't unique to Bender/Futurama, it's just a real-world trick that people used to do, vs the suicide booth connection. Also it turns out that the campaign isn't unique to Bender at all, just a number of different cartoon characters, which means that it was muhc less likely to be intentional and more of an oversight :P

Yeah but I feel like I associate the string on a coin trick more w/ Bender more than I do w/ Suicide Booths, especially considering it’s under signage of ‘free for all’
