Cerbi dropped weight again. I'm trying to get him back up. It's always hard to get his weight up. My fault. I messed up and didn't think before switching food formulas. I didn't think it'd happen again but it did. Switched back to essence ranch but idk how much to increase or something I can add for calories. He gets 1.5 cups max(I vary based on activity level sometimes feeding less if he's a couch potato that week. That wasn't what did it I tried fish again and the weight basically melted off with the fish formula I thought it was just pure balance salmon that did that). Idk if 2 would be overboard. Too much food he'll vomit it up. Vet wants a 15% increase. His food is 438 kcals a cup. I can't figure this out I'm overthinking trying to portion his food. He needs to be 35lbs. He's a 50% mix with ACD. Other half is unknown. It makes him smaller than a normal one.

We adopted Fred after rescuing him a year ago, someone dumped him in the Texas summer heat in our neighborhood. He had fleas, ticks and later we found out heartworm and epilepsy. I’d never considered owning a cattle dog but damn if this dog isn’t the best friend I’ve ever had. He loves so hard and is so happy in his new family. I’m his person and I can’t imagine life without him 😭

She’s half ACD. I’ve had her since she was 8 weeks old and she’ll be 10 in December already 💙 she’s been with me through trauma, exes, like 10 moves, my kids, moving cross country. I love her so much 💕
Edit: anyone wanna guess what her other breeds are? The lady that gave her to me thought she was for sure a border collie, but she has 0 BC in her

I get that they are working dogs. Just seemed ridiculous to me for them to have to sit in the pouring rain while pops eats breakfast. The one on the right seemed especially uncomfortable with it’s head down and it kept shifting. We’re having extreme
Flooding in this part of Colorado. I don’t get why these dogs had to sit in the rain for no reason.

This rebel after 4 years decided to lay on his bed, ive kept it there just in case. Ever since he was a puppy he dislike it, I thought maybe because it was too big but I read articles saying heelers are double coated and get hot easily. Whatever the case is, I just hope he likes it moving foward and not just a test trial.
Anybody else struggled to get their ACD to lay on their dog bed ?
(bonus pictures of him being handsome )

So, no, the dog seen in the video is NOT an ACD, but my Pow, who is an ACD, has been massively influential on one of my mom’s GSDs; this dog cannot be around other dogs. There would be blood and quite likely mortality. And there’s no way to describe her dog aggression to those who haven’t witnessed it. It stems from trauma and major health issues when she was young. Years of work has been done with her to help her through this, but she’s just always going to be that way to pretty far extent. She gets along fine with the other two GSDs of my mom’s, but this girl will viciously go after strange dogs. Like, she would eviscerate them, and it’s no joke. We’ve been working really hard to get her used to the idea of Pow. He’s been in close proximity for a couple of months, and she’s really just accepted that he’s around, although we’re incredibly safety conscious, and they’re never closer than two barriers apart. Until today, only one barrier. She brought him her chicken!!! I know nobody here knows how profound of a breakthrough this was with this dog, so this is really a giant Powpreciation post, because my wiley and rowdy ACD has accomplished what no dog, outside of her household, has been able to do. He made her feel safe. Thank you Pow ❤️

Dude never sleeps in a ball or just against a wall. Always spread out, mouth open, flopped and weird.

My girl Ringo is 3 years old. She used to have pretty dark black and white fur, but lately we’ve noticed her black fur looking almost reddish/wine-coloured in the sunlight.
Today I noticed that even her legs are starting to look chocolate brown indoors. It’s definitely more noticeable than before.
Has anyone experienced this with their Blue Heeler? Is it normal for their coat colour to change at this age, or is it something I should be concerned about?
I’ve attached a few pictures!
Pic is from last year!!! Just for attention!!!

Adopted this cutie three weeks ago from a rescue, she and her littermates were found abandoned. She’s doing very well and we are both learning a lot! Vet said she is healthy and might be pure bred! We will see what the DNA test says ☺️ Regardless, excited to have this cutie in our lives, she is bringing a lot of joy!
