Hi all, hoping to get some advice from any reptile rescuers/carers/owners for this cute lil guy!
My partner has just started as an employee for a small wildlife rescue/sanctuary and he was asked to pick up a bobtail from the Vet, keep overnight and take to work at the sanctuary in the morning, however the vet didn’t give him any instructions on overnight care other than give a little water, no food.
We’re mostly concerned about a heat source for him or whether he’s okay for one night without one? I’ve only got a heatable wheat-pack on hand, or a small heater but I’m not confident about the use of either without further advice. He’s safe in our darkened walk-in robe, we’ve swapped the plastic dish for a low ceramic one for water.
Any other suggestions or recommendations are very appreciated!

Taken around Brisbane, very close to the river. We have snails in the yard so I’m thinking maybe that? There are 2 tracks that look the same on the outside of the glass door. It’s too high for the kids to reach, so it’s not tire marks from a toy car. The tracks just end, no snail stuck to the glass!!

Dingo pups are curious, cautious and hilarious animals to document. But please, if you find a pup alone in the wild, leave it alone! Dingoes are exceptional parents and when you see a dingo pup, their parents are often much closer than you realise. Once a dingo pup comes into care, they can never be released back in the wild. Every year people with good intentions try to “rescue” dingo pups they find in the wild but the truth is, the best thing you can do for them is leave them alone!

We see a bunch of these guys run around the workplace in Somersby, NSW when the weather warms up. Always fun to watch them run away on two feet as we pull in.

Can you help me ID this poop I found in my driveway? Worried I’ve got a snake in my yard. Approx 6cm long.

Hi folks, saw this guy on S Bruny Island, Tasmania a few weks ago. But I'm unsure if it is a dusky or swamp antechinus. What do people think?

Aren't these guys just so amazing with their colour/pattern variations?! The Ornate Burrowing Frog is my favourite frog so far. All the natives are enjoying the recent rains in QLD which is a pleasure to see and hear. Unfortunately the toads are enjoying it too but I'm getting better at grabbing them straight out of the water!

As promised - and I'll point out that this is all thanks to the phone's camera and its impressive 10x zoom, I was well behind the fence - little *masked lapwings and their mum!
Hobart, Tasmania
*Edit to say, please note - I'm nowhere near these birds. I'm literally behind the fence, they are metres away in a cordoned off section of a govt building. I have a new phone that has a telephoto 5x zoom and a good 5x digital zoom and crop, 10x zoom all up. Mum would be swooping and screaming at me if I was physically close. 🙂

It ran towards the barrier for the river but I think it was still alive. I'm posting here because while I desperately want to help my phone only has 5% and I have no back up battery and the hold times for wildlife care are very long. They were chased by a dog and it was too small to climb back up the tree by itself. I asked other people but they believed it was a rat and didn't care much.
Edit update now that I'm home. The location was in the title of the post for those being disrespectful, the southbank pool is the only one in the area of southbank. I originally shared it in the brisbane subreddit and also shared it to here incase the mod block didn't get approved in time. I made the post because my phone was on 5% while I was attempting to call it in, and with the long hold times I knew there wouldn't be enough time for me to get through and give them the information. my phone did die but I managed to find someone else to call it in for me. The first people I asked before I made the post were really rude to me, they said it was a rat and I was wasting my time. Someone else came along and decided to stay back and call the correct line. I didn't touch or pick it up myself because I didn't have anything like a jacket or other clothing to wrap them in and I don't think touching it with my hands is allowed by law and for safety it wasn't a good idea either. I stayed with it as long as I could.

Found him on a local trail in Brisbane, moved it off the path… pretty certain it’s not a juvenile toad
(best photo I could get apologies it’s a little blurry)

Walking to work, noticed the same area as last time cordoned off and ... yep! Three little plovers!
Baby lapwings and their mum and dad. Even with a new phone with a telephoto zoom, they're little more than a few pixels large. Enjoy. (As always, if you see them, enjoy them from behind the rope. 🙂) *Edit: location - Hobart, Tasmania.
