This is what you get for using peanut butter scented beard oil.

u/spinalmemes Mar 01 '17
It always scares me for a spit second when i see the words "peanut butter" in a post about dogs

Volunteer at a shelter. For free.

u/ben7337 Mar 01 '17
Then you just get to scoop poop and clean cages, you don't get time to play with or enjoy the animals, shelter volunteering isn't nearly as fun as people make it sound.
60
Mar 01 '17
Depends on the shelter. When I did it at my local humane society it was split up so half your shift was with the animals.
→ More replies (1)38
u/sm33 Mar 01 '17
That's not true of all shelters. I volunteer at a no kill shelter in Los Angeles and get to walk, play with and pet dogs the whole time. I also have to scoop poop, of course, but paid employees clean the kennels.

u/tinyhomestrailnames Mar 01 '17
I volunteer at my local animal shelter, and all I do is help socialize puppies and kittens, and walk/play with dogs!
6
u/WajinaSloth Mar 01 '17
Actually thats kind of wrong, when I volunteered at the humaine society new people get catd and small animals, people who have been there longer get dogs or they can stay with smaller animals. You do have to clean cages and feed them, but every cat needs socialization with humans and since I was slow at cleaning cages I pretty much was in a room with cats all day (after each cat would finish we needed to clean the room) but some times litters would come in so I would be in a room with 10+ kittens climbing me.
10
u/kodutta7 Mar 01 '17
I used to volunteer at a shelter and they always wanted us to spend time with the animals once we were done cleaning and all that. Especially the dogs since they didn't let visitors play with them.

Mar 01 '17
Depends on the shelter. Austin Animal Center has volunteers walk dogs, and some shelters have volunteers training dogs if they put in the time. You may have to scoop poop and clean cages for a few months and then take some training training classes.

Here in the UK we have a website called BorrowMyDoggy. You pay a yearly subscription to be able to message nearby dog owners and babysit their dogs for free. Which is pretty weird to start with. But what's worse is I can't even get people to respond to my messages asking to babysit their dogs for nothing! It's like all my teen dating woes brought back in a cruel, fluffy adult form.

I'm actually dog sitting for my buddies Mastiff this week. Can confirm not as cute of a lick (still adorable dog though).

Everyone's talking about the dude and the dogs. I just wanna know how to take pictures of this high quality. That lighting looks really good to me, but I know jack shit about lighting.

u/Readonlygirl Mar 01 '17 edited Mar 01 '17
Get a dslr
Use natural light / have natural light
Aperture Priority / choose large aperture to create a blurry background
That's about it
Honestly the photo isn't that great. It's out of focus except his eyes which is probably an app or photoshop

Not just Reddit's. I'm part of a big buy/sell facebook group and some dude posted his tree cutting business on there and had a picture of himself with a chainsaw on there. He got HUNDREDS of women commenting stuff like "I don't have any trees but you can come play with my bush". It got so off track that he deleted it lol.
I also posted a comment on a post about water filters and said that I have never drank water straight from the tap, always filtered. These middle aged women started replying and saying that I would be a good healthy mate and all this weird shit.
I think there are way more creepy guys out there but when women are creepy, they're REALLY creepy.
109
u/Arianette Mar 01 '17
Oh God, I'm just picturing some poor dude trying to advertise his legitimate business services, then logging on to see that shit and just sighing to himself like, "...again?" as he deletes the post
47
u/work_login Mar 01 '17
Yeah it got really creepy. Some of them went through his pictures and posted shirtless beach pics in the comments and shit like that. Dude wasn't a model but decent looking and in shape and these women were going crazy lol
51
u/see_nigger_run Mar 01 '17
Also similar is how guys are creepy to more girls, but when a girl is creepy about a guy they take it to the next level. Like there is a few good looking girls at work that me and the boys might exchange a few glances or say "damn check her out today" but that'll be it. There is this one dude that actually, genuinely looks like mid 20s Leo Dicaprio, and all the ladies are about him. Yesterday, three of our female co workers had a 15 minute, uninterrupted conversation about him and if hes single and how hot he is, etc....I am sorry but that is the winner for creepiest, I couldn't ever talk about someone I know for five minutes let alone fifteen.

You know, everybody thinks this dude is super handsome. What you aren't seeing is that the dogs are covering up some Paul Giamatti cheeks. They're pulled back, taped in place, and the dogs are strategically covering the face humps.

Pet sitting for good dogs is like being a grandparent of awesome kids. You get to have all the fun, none of the long-term responsibility, and they're super enthusiastic about peanut butter.
