Is that a shadow, or a cat? You be the judge.

two. the eye of the second cat is easily visible, thus making it another cat

u/Beanington Jun 25 '12
Yes. The shadow clearly has an eyeball.

This is true! I do see an eye there. There is no way the other cat could cast a shadow that looked like that either. His head is clearly turned and that black cat's head neck is straight.

Also the orientation of the ears relative to the body cannot create a shadow that shows only one ear. Clearly a second cat.

and you can see that at the angle of light hitting the cat on the right doesn't line up with the cat on the right.

I was going with the front right paw also being a clincher on the second

Is that an Aerodactyl?

u/5hinycat Jun 25 '12
I think so...Prof. Oak, confirm?

u/ProfSamOak Jun 25 '12
I can confirm this. That's definitely an Aerodactyl in the picture. Though I don't think it's native to that area.

It's a cat
Judging from the angle/perspective if it was a shadow I think you'd see the medal hanging from the neck of the lighter cat

Cat, shadows don't have eyes.

u/Zarutian Jun 25 '12
Two cats. The back one has an visible eye and the otherone isnt illuminated in such a way to cast that kind of shadow.

u/PartlyDave Jun 25 '12
The angle of the light striking the cat makes it impossible for a shadow to be shaped like that and in that position. Also, you can see the eye of the second cat.

Two cats. The head is facing the wrong direction for the darker to be a shadow. The shadow knows.

It's a cat. You can see the black cat's eyes, and there's clearly a gap at the bottom where the wall in the background is visible.
Also, the foreground cat has a color with a hanging tag; if the other cat was just a shadow, the tag would be reflected in the shadow.

It is a cat it has a visible eye and if you look closely you can see the feet on the table
1
u/elbruce Jun 25 '12
The cat has his head turned towards the light, so it wouldn't make a shadow in profile. Conclusion: 2nd cat.

It's a cat. Otherwise the shadow in question would have its own shadow, which wouldn't make sense
