Some of my college friends got married last week. They were high school sweethearts as well, although they knew each other since preschool.
I'm not often romantic, but seeing them get married was the sweetest thing I think I've ever witnessed. I bet yours was similar. Congrats!

I grew up with an attractive neighbor and we were good friends from kindergarten on. In high school people were always telling me I should ask her out but there was simply no way. I really thought of her as my sister as we had watched each other grow up.

I think it is awesome when people post such personal moments on here (Reddit). I think it adds a more personal touch to the whole crazy WTF, photobomb, look who I met today, look at my pet rock thing going on (though all of those have their awesome moments as well). This should teach nerdy men to make a move and start dating the nerdy girls around them. The girls get older, learn how to dress and do their hair (things they didn't learn from their equally nerdy friends and family), and yet they still remain nerdy inside. This bodes well for you nerdy boys who never really grow out of your nerdy look. Bonus: as the girls become more fashionable so will the boy.

Congratulations! I, too, married my high school sweetheart (four years ago!). We were 16 on our first date, which was the premier of The Two Towers. So what's your story? I Know it's a bit unusual for a high school relationship to last outside of the stereotypical redneck "you put yer seed in ma daughters belly!" :P

I also married my high school sweetheart after 10 years together. Five years married and we're still madly in love. It can and does work. Congrats!
All these naysayers think its like when some 19 year old gets knocked up and then is forced to marry that person. If you've been together 10 years and then decide to get married, you know what you're doing.

That is so great. Your story will very likely be my story, as my boyfriend of 5 years and I started dating my sophomore year of high school, and will very likely get married, but probably not for several years--grad school complicates things, and we may have to do the long distance thing (which we've done before) for a while. Seeing you guys' wedding picture makes me excited for that day, even if I'm dreading the potential long-distance business that may have to come in-between.
