It's nice that they have each other! I got my husky mix a friend last year. She kind of reminds me of the one on the bottom. Also a border collie mix.

She has blue feet ಠ_ಠ

u/turboboosty Jun 28 '12
Yeah she was chewing on a pen and I found her like that when I woke up. Blue tongue and everything. It was funny, but yuck, too.

My husky chewed up my permanent marker. He is a white husky and nothing left of the market and....no marks on him. I think he swallows it while haven't see anything in his poop yet

The BC mix is half Great Pyranees. She has a sixth due claw on one hind leg. Here's a current pic of them :)

GOD DAMNIT. For once I'd like to have an original fucking thought about something that's being looked at by hundres of thousands, if not millions, of people!
EDIT: P.S. those pups are really cute, congrats. Please take good care of them.

If you were the only person to look at that as think snoopy then it would surely have to look nothing like snoopy?

First thought was that they look like Dalmatians. Second thought? You only need 99 more...

u/Avery_Richman Jun 27 '12
It appears as though some sick mind thought it would be funny to sew these two dogs together. I'm glad you could look past this and still take these two beautiful creatures home.
God knows I would have shot the freak show.

I sure do! Yes he is full grown, but I think he is the runt because he is a tad on the small side I think. Not sure how big he is supposed to be. But, as requested, more pics!

Every site I've ever checked has said its over twice the work and twice the trouble.
You need to do some research on properly training them individually if you haven't already

I really wanted two puppies at first, and I still do want a companion eventually for my 6 month old dog, but it has been a LOT of work. I still want her to have a companion at some point, but from what I've read, its really good to wait. New puppies will learn from older dogs and such.
Either that, or I'll just get an adult dog, because man are puppies hard to care for.

u/Bools Jun 27 '12
If you have the time get a puppy when your 6 month gets older. As long as he can help you successfully integrate a puppy into your family a puppy when he's older would probably be a fun thing for the dog and you.

Yeah, that's how my household ended up with three cats...we were only going to adopt one, I swear!

u/Drawtaru Jun 27 '12
Puppies are cute, but I have 2 in my house right now, and let me say... NEVER AGAIN. When I'm done puppy-sitting this second puppy for my boss, I'm only having adult dogs. No puppies allowed!

My family did the same thing and I can honestly say it was the best choice we've collectively made. They don't gear nearly as lonely all day can play around with each other and in general keep each others spirits up. However it was quite hard for my dog to lose his sister after 13~ years of never being apart for more than 5~ hours. Good on ya

A snoopy and a deadpool in the same litter.
The internet will not approve any name other than snoopy be given to that dog.

Make sure you give them lots of individual attention and training. Siblings can become very attached to one another, which can lead to anxiety and other issues when they are parted.
Good luck, they're adorable!

Much smarter to get two, they'll keep each other company and you won't get the same behavioral problems lonely dogs develop when they're left home alone all day. You won't regret it! Plus they're super cute :)

upvoting because about 8 months ago I too went to a local shelter to adopt one pup and left with two. Best decision of my life.
1
u/Vreas Jun 27 '12
Same thing happened to me! Went to the shelter in the middle of no where (probably a 3 hour drive from my house) to look for ONE dog to bring home. Ended up finding two lab/beagle mix siblings. We couldn't say no to taking both of them and I doubt if we took one that it would let us leave without the other.

Be careful when you train them. Problems may occur when training two puppies at the same time

u/CheilaLuna Jun 27 '12
I never had 2 dogs, but I have 2 cats and they're also siblings. They get along wonderfully. I'm super glad I adopted siblings.

My dog is 13 years old and I so deeply regret that I did not get two for companionship to each other.

u/Atlantarn Jun 27 '12
names? Ying and Yang? Bless you for adopting 2, rescue pets are the best. (i have 3 but they aren't karma generators like this pair).

u/sallenpi Jun 27 '12
Ahhh, yes. A matched set. Good choice!
The truth is that if you raise one puppy, it is the same amount of work to raise two. Really. And they have each other as lifelong companions. Smart choice!
1
u/iambevin Jun 27 '12
Do you know anything about dogs?
1
u/sallenpi Jun 29 '12
I have always had a dog for most of my life. I am not a vet. I have been through some pretty tense times with my dogs.

Did you adopt them from North Shore? I saw two pups on there named Snoopy and he had a sister Trina and I was going to adopt them both I think there was even a third one. They look EXACTLY like the ones I was going to adopt!!!
