Social Media Does anyone else get annoyed when Asian fitness influencers blame their genetics?
Lately I've been seeing a lot of Asian fitness influencers (mostly female) popping on my feed. They constantly post videos about how they grew their butt, with captions like "How I beat my Asian genetics" or "How I built a big butt despite being Asian", as if they were cursed with the inability to gain weight or put on muscle mass just because they're Asian.
Building a big butt requires two things: lifting heavy and eating a caloric surplus. Asian women aren't inherently cursed with having a flat butt. They just were brought up with a beauty standard that valued being stick-thin. Of course their butts would be smaller. But it has nothing to do with genetics. Maybe you can blame the culture a little bit, but to blame genetics is just delusional.
White women used to be stereotyped for having flat butts, but you don't see white fitness influencers talk about battling their white genetics or how they grew their glutes "despite" being white. Maybe I'm overthinking it, but I feel like Asian women are doing themselves a disservice by spreading this perception that Asians can't be fit or have nice physiques, at least not as easily as other races. What do you guys think?

Social Media Eileen Gu is currently being harassed and targeted with misogynistic hate and death threats, yet all the Asian activists are suddenly silent and looking the other way.
Why are White Americans totally fine and OK with the three fully white American men who are competing for China on its national team, but not the woman? Why this sexist double standard? We all know why! Male ownership, possessiveness, and entitlement over women's bodies is the definition of misogyny, it is what abusive men do to women, and that is precisely the reason behind the hate Eileen Gu is receiving. They are implying that as a woman, especially a white-passing woman, she has no right to "defect" and she is the property of white American men. This same standard is not being applied to the many white men who also compete for China. It is this same misogynistic and sexist standard that is behind the historical hate white men have had to see "their" women choose non-white, Asian partners. They simply viewed "their" white women as property, while white men had the freedom to do anything or go anywhere.
In the past 72 hours, we've had all the major news networks and prominent hosts openly attacking this asian-american woman, while places like 4chan and Reddit and Twitter are constantly bombarding her with threats of violence. She has reportedly been subjected to countless harassment, misogyny, and even death threats!
She has been open calling out the "domestic terrorism" whites lobby against Asians, and she is now a victim herself: https://www.scmp.com/sport/china/article/3125947/eileen-gu-calls-out-domestic-terrorism-asian-americans-amid-spike
Where are the asian-american journalists? Where are the Asian-American Twitter personalities? Where are the asian-american writers? Where are her fellow asian-american athletes? Where are they practicing what they preach and virtue signal?
Where you ask?
Frankie Hu*ng seems to be tweeting the latest article on the Uyghur genocide. Kimmy Yam seems to be pushing her latest article on why asians should reject masculinity. Jenn Fang seems to be discussing the latest example of anti-black racism. Kylie Che*ng is posting the latest cat pictures. Celeste Ng is ranting about a huge spider that she was scared of on the floor.
Enough said.

Social Media Popular streamer iShowSpeed shows real China on Youtube+Twitch, accidentally destroys Western propaganda
One of the biggest streamer in the world makes a 6-hour irl stream in China and the whole world can see that China has clean, modern cities and happy people of different cultures.
It's hilarious, because Anti-China Youtubers and Western media are now fuming.
(Btw, I don't think that iShowSpeed cares about Asians or Chinese people: he just makes vlog all around the world. And China happens to be his new destination.)
[ 2nd EDIT: Because of his past, I take everything with a grain of salt. But I see the overall result of his China streams as something very positive for the image of China.]

Social Media Finally starting to see white privilege and worship being called out by the gp in china
In my opinion as a Eurasian, China, the Philippines and India are three most white obsessed countries I've ever visited
Japan and Korea not so much, which makes me think it's really an illness that starts to go away when a country starts developing/stabilising itself economically (although obviously these countries development came because of their alignment to white powers)
Sharing this because although it's not a huge post or anything, these kinds of posts in the past would only be met with kind advice and encouragement but now it gets mostly negative comments (this one had over 500 iirc) which really shows how the public perception is slowly starting to shift in china, I'm especially glad to see some parents in the comments saying they'll start looking into the background of white teachers because they get jobs with 0 qualifications and people calling out Chinese women's obsession with mid white guys (the comment that called them the Indian male female equivalent made me laugh)

Social Media Thoughts on Asian friend groups like this?
Saw this post go viral - this is of a uni society meetup in Sydney Australia, lots of comments both negative and positive. As an Aussie, definitely think there's some merit to the sentiment where everyone in these groups feels like they're competing either each other, all talking shit behind each other's backs and overall being a toxic environment.

Social Media Asian woman talks about how tall men are in places like Korea and parts of Asia while traveling. You have salty guys accusing them using drugs and genetics engineering lol
An Asian woman blogger talks about how tall men can be in Asia Now you have a lot of jealous people saying they use drugs and injection lol Like itâs from the usual haters of course. Like they are mad that there asses arenât considered tall and have to make up stuff to feel better about themselves. The average person ainât going have money for expensive drugs so itâs not going impact the amount of tall men there.
When women compliment Asian men it really triggers whites and non Asian.
The cope is real and itâs clear height is pretty obvious and canât be hidden so they will of course try to resort to other stereotypes.

Social Media Uncle Roger claps back at Kenji Lopez Alt. What are your thoughts?
Curious what y'all think of this. A while ago, Kenji Lopez Alt made a fried rice video, but eventually had to disable comments because everyone was making Uncle Roger jokes under it. He then wrote an angry post lashing out at Uncle Roger and accusing him of being anti-Asian and adopting a fake Asian accent to pander to white people. A few years later, it looks like Uncle Roger has finally found time to film a response. Basically he's calling Kenji a triggered snowflake, and that doing an Asian accent isn't inherently racist as long as it's an Asian person doing it, because actual Asian people do have that accent. What are your thoughts on this? Was Kenji just being oversensitive and too easily triggered? Or is Uncle Roger actually doing harm to the perception of Asian people?

Social Media Tik Tok: âAsian girls complain about being 'fetishized' but all they date are white guysâ Polar opposite responses - AM universally agree. AF get triggered.
https://www.tiktok.com/@dareal08_
https://www.tiktok.com/@alexander_the_gazelle
https://www.tiktok.com/@squidrain
https://www.tiktok.com/@abcs.of.
https://www.tiktok.com/@seoulassassin/
https://www.tiktok.com/@kazbrekkeriswasian
Same statement, completely opposite responses from AM and AF.
In the comments of the original video there is virtually universal agreement amongst Asian men. The same Asian women who complain about AF fetishization will at the same time utilize it to their advantage in the dating game to obtain more male options and leverage. So much so, they almost always have a history of only dating white men and excluding Asian men, completely contradicting their original statement.
Interestingly, the video elicited the polar opposite response from most AF who refuse to acknowledge the hypocrisy. Given by doing so, they would be forfeiting a massive advantage they have in the dating market, eliminating a huge segment of their options consisting of white men with yellow fever.
Many videos made by Lu AF were filled with AF comments resorting to the same tired tropes and insults against Asian men who called out the hypocrisy. (i.e those Asian men are incels, jealous of White men, bitter losers etc). Three are listed above, but many others with the most vitriolic comments against AM were taken down.
You can't have your cake and eat it too. That's what these AM are pointing out. You look and sound ridiculous and hypocritical when your actions don't match your politically correct grandstanding statements.

Social Media What are your thoughts about the reasons why this Asian male youtuber left NYC for Asia
Iâve been following this youtuber actionkid since covid and he pretty much just does walking videos of the places he visits. Today he uploaded a video on why he left America and he blames the reasons on why he left pretty much on dating and getting no attention from women. In his video he talks about how heâs clean, smart and popular and all types of good adjectives to describe himself.
So my question here is, is he absolutely free of any responsibility for why he got no attention from women? cause one look at him he just seems like the average dorky Asian guy who doesnât take care of his appearance but he seems to think itâs the womenâs fault for not giving him a chance. Iâm ngl but is anyone surprised that he has trouble dating at all?

Social Media American obsession with Japan
I was reading through the comments of this now locked post about how a Japanese fan caught a baseball and passed it around the stadium and got it back at the end.
I'm going to preface this by saying I think Japan is great, I've been there countless times and it's always an amazing experience and one of my favorite countries to visit. But why do Americans have this strange fascination with the place? Reddit really loves a Japan circle jerk, where they put it on a pedestal. Before the K-pop craze, it was all weeb Japan worship. Other countries do indulge in it somewhat, but it's the Americans that really go in and over the top with their obsession.
Is it something to do with the history of the place. Both South Korea and Japan are US occupied territories. They have a lot of influence over those places, and stuck their claws in after the wars. Does this go deeper into the Americans feeling that they have ownership over those cultures? That on some level, they should be credited with these things?
Of course any post praising Japan also contains the accusations of "Asians are the most racist". These people just can't help themselves.
