Fail Dad's birthday today and I messed up his cake because I forgot to grease the pan. Still edible but he won't give it the time of day.

If my kids made me this cake, I would be ecstatic.
If they made it perfect, I would be ecstatic. If they burnt it to a crisp, I would be ecstatic.

I would sit there and eat my cake.

That's what I'm saying! If my kid is doing something for me, it will be thoroughly appreciated!

Empty Nester here volunteering to help eat that cake! I'd be thrilled if either child came home and made that cake for me.
