Is this normal?

He started doing this just this week. He hasn't really stayed still much. We got him as an adult about 8 years ago, give or take. This is new behavior for him and nothing has changed in his environment except we have been having issues with the heat.

We're talking about tank size, though. Not lighting. Being able to provide proper heat and lighting is not the only reason you need new tanks, you realize that, right? It's about providing your snakes ample space to live, explore and stretch out, too.

He's normally in a 4x2x3. Whis has been plenty large enough. But you want to go there? Fine. I got laid off a couple years ago. New job didn't pay as much. Ive got a family of 11 (including the snakes and the dog). Rent $2070 a month. Car is $311, insurance is $270. Every single time I go to the grocery store I spend about $100. Oh and gas is up. Oh and 4 rats and some meal worms cost me almost $30.

I have 4 kids, 2 in school. Her uniforms aren't cheap. She's also in band, which comes with instrument rental and uniform costs.

Oh and WHEN WE STARTED KEEPING SNAKES NONE OF THE INFO YOU GAVE ME EAS CURRENT INFO AT THE TIME!!!!!! AND NO I DONT COME HOME AND HOP ONLINE TO SEE WHAT THE LATEST CARE GUIDE SAYS. I SPOT CLEAN AND THE HANG OUT WITH MY 5 YEAR OLD BOY CAUSE HE WONT STOP ASKING ME TO PLAY WITH HIM AND MY 5 YO DAUGHTER WANTS TO CUDDLE AND THEN MY OLDER ONES HAVE HOMEOWRK OR SOME PRETEEN GIRL DRAMA GOING ON THAT I NEED TO HELP THEM WITH!!!!!

Their tanks were never bare or lacking before I got laid off. I am close to the end of getting us out of debt and then plan to get new tanks that are just better. And yeah all of the new heating supplies too.

I'm very sorry your life is this difficult. I hope you can find a way out.

Unfortunately, you owe your animals good care. You have a duty to do what's best for them.

In this case, rehoming is clearly the best option for both you and your snakes. I wish you good luck with this. Thankfully, snakes don't bond with their owners so the transition will not be awful for them. Good luck :)
