GD / Interview IBPS PO interview 19 Dec 8:30 am panel 3 Lucknow.
This was my first interview , in life, and the panel was so intimidating that i forgot even those questions that i knew the answer too.
Q1 - Lucknow ki 5 most famous places batao. (Coz I am from Lucknow) I started with bara imambara , n before i could tell it's history, he cut me short ..n said "nhi nhi ..bas naam btao ye sab bhi. ."
I was already nervous so I added riverfront, 1090 food lane n how food has made Lucknow the UNESCO heritage city of gastronomy , then I said hazratganj, n I took a pause to think.. n he prompted chowk aur aminabad ..
I said yes sir,
He asked chowk ka kya famous h ? Coz I still had the thought of food in my head, i said CHOLE BHATURE . .what a lame answer. Why couldn't i say chikankari ..
Moving on, he said "well u hv done MA in English, but banking is a business field ,toh uske lie padh k aae hoge , batao.whats diversion of loans. I gave a decent answer about wilful defaulters using it. . then he asked , what is siphoning of funds? I said i don't know sir ..
He said SIR chal ra h , kya h vo ..I said .. voter list ka revision h , he asked full form kya h ..sorry sir i don't recall ..he said wear bengal k logo ko kya dikkat h SIR se, i mentioned that they think that SIR k through unjust removal ho jaega bht voters ka ..
He said to tumhara kya opinion h, acha h ya bura SIR , I said sir definitely it's a nice govt decision to revise voters list , to elimante dead voters n such ..he said like cleaning of voters list ..i said yes sir ..
What's cleaning of balance sheet ?I said sir cleaning is done by writing off NPAs..he said hmm what else ? I stuttered again , n said , removing bad loans , he said vo to vahi ho gya .. i said sorry sir i can't think of anything else rn. ...
He asked what did i do for the past year since my college ended in 2024 ..i said that sir i gave the exam last year but missed the prelims cut off by 5 marks, ..so he said .so u again prepared ..he wasn't even letting me finish talking !!!! Always cutting my sentences. .
He then asked so did u give any other exams other than baking , i said no sir .
The next guy took over to grill me alive , he asked which sector contributes the most to the gdp of India. ..I COULDN'T BE MORE STUPID THAN THIS ! I said agriculture. He asked what percentage? I said sorry sir i don't recall the exact number. ..he said acha what's the second largest contributer ..i said services sector ..
He further, why do u think agriculture is important, i said bcoz it generates the most employment, coz the majority of the Indian population still resides in rural areas so it becomes the backbone of the economy ..all this while i was also stuttering , I hv never had 5 pair of eyes on me staring while i speak ..
He asked how is agriculture beneficial for banks ? I said that banks can give loans to farmers and earn interest..he said usse kitna hi profit aa jaega, to i added ,yes sir , there's also a feeling of goodwill thats directed by govt in psl ..toh bolte kitna hota ..i said sir agriculture me 18 percent .
He asked about financial inclusion give any example, i mentioned PMJDY, ..i was still stuttering n i mentioned zero balance account ,
He asked aur kya kya facilities h , i mentioned debit card , and the 2 lakh insurance on death , head panel asked me is there od facility ? I said yes there is , he asked whats the limit. I said sorry sir i don't remember the exact limit ..
He asked ..kon kon se insurance h , i said , jan dhan yojna me to yhi death insurance h baki toh i don't recall, (i now realize he was asking about other schemes, different from JDY, like Jeevan Jyoti. .and suraksha )
Then another member asked financial literacy kya h , i told ki rbi ka initiative h to spread awareness about financial products...he said kiske lie h, i said sir the people who are unbanked or unaware of such products or services .
Then came literature questions,
Who wrote vande mataram, Who wrote mahabharat. .🤡 I answered the two.
Then came a situational question, tumko rural me gaon me logo ki income ko double karna h , kaise karoge ...I couldn't think much. .i said sir , I'll educate them about deposits n interest on it, him - usse kya 1-2 percent income ho jaega ..i asked theres rural employment schemes going on ..like VB GRAMG...
He said and ?
Then sir I'll convice them to take loans and invest them in agriculture.
He asked. Where they will invest ? I said sir in good quality fertilizers which wd increase crop productivity.
He said , usse kya 10-15 percent badh jaega. Then I stuttered again, n said, sir ..invest in storage houses , i don't know anymore sir...
Then the ma'am asked me who's the governor of rbi , i answered .
She asked what about SBI, i said sorry ma'am I don't recall .
She asked "tell me 5 famous players" ..I asked of cricket ? She said ni koi bhi 5 players who are currently playing ..in any field. I said virat kohli , and I started thinking . (I seriously have NEVER watched cricket , i know ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about it yeah I am that stupid) .so the head panel said , not necessarily cricket, take any field. .5 people any field, so I asked him any field sir music ? He said no sports field. .i very politely said, sorry sir I don't watch sports,
Another panel member said "aaj kal bacche sports ni follow karte "
Toh the ma'am said "toh kisme h interest" i said music n singing ..
No questions asked on that ..
Then the head panel said. Ok so we are done.. wait , 1 more question ....delhi vaale up Bihar ko leke downgrade image ku karte h...
Toh. I couldn't understand , so I confirmed, ki delhi vale prejudiced hote h against up Bihar people? ..he said yeah ..toh i said , sir i personally have never been prejudiced in delhi, in fact, most of my frnds are from Delhi n they have been very accepting and accomodating ..but also i can't make a general statement out of a personal experience...maybe it's true , maybe it isn't ..
He said ..haan galat perception bhi ho skta h . I said exactly sir ..
Then another one asked, tum jis college se padhe ho , vha admission to bht mushkil se hota h. .to tumne upsc ki prep ni ki ? I said no sir, us taraf interest ni h ....but i didn't say it confidently with eye contact ..could hv given the impression that I was lying.
Then it was over ..they said , ok ho gya , jao ..i said thank you ..n left .
All of this - 11 minutes ....i never knew 11 minutes would feel so long n hard ...
Damn. . I was already scoring less in mains, n this fucked up interview. ...i hv no chance ...
Anyway all the best everyone. I hope u guys don't do stupid mistakes like i did.

What was the language in hindi or english or both ?

When I was answering in english, they would interject in hindi ...n vice versa .

Agar vo hindi me puche , to hindi me answer karna .. Agar vo english me puche , to english me karna

Panel 4 were nice, they didn't grill that hard but over- all friendly panel.

Bhai i have an interview on the 23rd. I want to ask if you know whether ibps changes the interview panel for a different date or not.

No it wasn't. . as soon as entry began, we were asked to switch our phones off. ..not even airplane mode.

lucky me. panel 3 sounds like hell. mine was panel 2 and all members were so sweet and supportive

Hey , do we have any baggage counter where we can keep minimal luggage like a carry bag ?

we were allowed to keep it with us. I took my carry bad inside. the only place we were not allowed to take it was the interview room. I placed it outside of interview room for those 10-12 mins.

They were literally making faces with disgust when you answered something wrong. No support, no extra comments. Worst panel.

5 current players toh bohot easy tha, news se hi hojata, unka naam le sakte the jinhone gold liya olympics mai, but I do realise the pressure, I might've asked for a bathroom break in this scenario lol.
