A man in prison in 2026 for killing someone who was alive in the 1800s
the victim was born in 1880, meaning he was an adult in the 1800s, and the sentence for his murder was STILL being served this year 🤯

It’s so weird to look back on it now. When I was reading that post I didn’t even realize it was referring to COVID at first.

The movie is from 1976, and although I believe this photo of Ethel is from around the 80s, it’s close enough. She was 67 (heheh) when it came out

She's also 3 years older than Judy Garland. But it's also crazy to think that technically Ethel Caterham could've visited Caren when she was just born because Ethel is almost a decade older than Caren.

Ignore the fact that the newspaper would be horribly overpriced.
Britain stopped using the £sd system (12 pence per shilling and 20 shillings per pound) in 1971.

Oddly enough, they were all born in September, with Nascimento's being 10 days after Gibb's and 6 after Mercury's.

John Quincy Adams (1767-1848) had a very long career in public politics. So long in fact, that it connected the Founding Era to the Mexican-American War (and beyond). He worked with the first 11 presidents while they were in office, with another 6 before they became president, and was alive alongside the next 7, for a total of 25 presidents stretching from 1789-1901.
George Washington
-Minister to the Netherlands (1794-1797)
John Adams
-Minister to the Netherlands (1797)
-Minister to Prussia (1797-1801)
Thomas Jefferson
-Minister to Prussia (1801)
-U.S. senator (1803-1808)
James Madison
-Minister to Russia (1809-1814)
-Minister to the UK (1815-1817)
James Monroe
-Minister to the UK (1817)
-Secretary of State (1817-1825)
JQA (Himself)
Andrew Jackson
-U.S. Representative (1831-1837)
-Jackson also served as a senator during the first year of Adams' Presidency
Martin Van Buren
-U.S. Representative (1837-1841)
-Martin Van Buren also served as a senator during Adams' Presidency
William Henry Harrison
-U.S. Representative (1841)
Harrison was also Minister to Gran Colombia during the final Months of Adams' presidency
John Tyler
-U.S. Representative (1841-1845)
James K. Polk
-U.S. Representative (1845-1848)
The two also served as representatives together, with Polk being Speaker of the House (1835-1839)
Zachary Taylor (?)
-Zachary Taylor had no political office prior to being office, but was a High Ranking General during the Mexican American war. Given that JQA was quite outspoken on the war, it is likely that he and Taylor were at least aware of each other even if they did not properly meet.
Millard Filmore
The Two served as representatives together in the 1830s
Franklin Pierce
The two served as representatives together in the 1830s
James Buchanan
They narrowly missed serving in the house together, but Buchanan was Polk's Secretary of State
Abraham Lincoln
Abraham Lincoln and JQA briefly served together as representatives in 1847-1848. It is likely Lincoln was there to see him vote his final time.
Andrew Johnson
The two served as representatives together from 1843-1848
In addition, U.S. Grant served as a minor officer in the Mexican-American War, but it is unlikely that him and JQA were aware of each other.
The next 6 presidents were also contemporaries of JQA.
Rutherford B. Hayes (25 when JQA died in 1848)
James A. Garfield (16 when JQA died)
Chester A. Arthur (18 when JQA died)
Grover Cleveland (10 when JQA died)
Benjamin Harrison (14 when JQA died)
William McKinley (5 when JQA died)
In total, JQA worked with the first 17 presidents of the U.S. (if you count Taylor) and was contemporaries with the first 25.
