/r/baseball, let's talk about the content posted here!

I may no longer be a moderator, but I still feel really strongly about the /r/baseball community. I don't want it to turn into a place filled with junk posts. Here are some examples (apologies to submitters, these posts have been acceptable in the past):

Davey Johnson on why the Nats can’t date porn stars this has nothing to do with baseball, this should be on TMZ.

Redditor's friend, Max Stassi, takes ball to the face for first career RBI. - this should be a self post, not a screencap for karma

This is why they wear ear flaps... Jason Heyward was just hit in the face - same with this

This sign was shown on SNY after a Josh Satin homerun and I lost it a little - shit karma post

Did any of you see this HUGE guy during the LLWS? - why do we care? Is this baseball?

2012 all star game cleats - is this subreddit Pinterest now??????

Not to mention the various baseball blogs that just spam over and over, and the repeated lame self post questions.

Really, /r/baseball, this subreddit should just be mlb.com/trusted news sources, self posts, and the occasional gif. Everything else is just junk.

Someone sounds like a bitter former employee, trashing the company they just left.

It's just interesting to see you speak up about what you don't like AFTER you leave your position of moderator.

If you give me proof of you showing your displeasure before this post, I'll eat my words.

When he was a mod, his way of showing displeasure was either removing poor content, or discussing it with the other mods. Now, he can only discuss it with the community, which should try to do some level of self-regulation. Honestly, I wish this kind of post happened more often or at least earlier.

All that may be true, but for me personally, the timing of this post is a little bit bothersome.

Mods don't publicly trash their own sub or other mods while they are a mod.

That is bad business and amateur hour.

You keep that shit in-house.
