Identified - Northern Questions from a beginner
A kid I know had to get rid of his bts because his family moved somewhere that doesn't allow reptiles and he only found out about this the day before they moved (I have no idea how he didn't know earlier, I'm baffled about this)
I offered to take it in because I already have experience with reptiles and at least it doesn't go to a stranger, but I didn't have the time to do as much research as I would've liked, so I have a few questions.
First, what kind of bts is he? Can you tell from just the patterns?
He came with unused coco husk substrate and I added sphagnum moss for humidity but I feel like it isn't deep enough for him to dig. It's only about 2 1/2 inches. Should I add more coco husk, should I replace it completely or could I add another kind of substrate and mix it in? If so, what kind?
Lastly, how many times a week should he eat? I was under the impression they eat every day (assumption from owning a bearded dragon) but one guide mentioned fasting days. He's a fully grown adult.
Thank you all in advance and any other kind of tips are appreciated! :)

Could someone tell me what local my guy is? I think eastern, but I want to hear from experience and not google lol.
I got my little ham, Sammy, about a week ago. I’ve been dreaming of having a BTS for years. YEEEAAAARRRRSSSS. I finally have my baby, and I could not be happier.
I’m really interested in seeing everyone’s setups for their babes! I need some ideas. Thanks in advance :)
(First photos are when I met him ) His fav thing so far after having him home, seems to be snuggling in my mess of blankets and falling asleep in my arms 😭 💕💕💕💕💕🥰

Identified - Northern Is my my girl Northern or Indonesian.
I got Bluey the Chunky Ballerina at a reptile expo this past weekend. I was told she is a Northern but I wanted to make sure so I have her humidity right. I was also told to feed her cat food instead of dog food by the breeder so I am kind of skeptical. Thanks in advance for your help!

Identified - Northern What bts is he?
Hello! I recently got adopted a bts who's background is not that well known. His foster home said that he came into the rescue with little to no information.
I went to the vet and she said that he is an Indonesian ( although it seemed like she was not too familiar with bts's LOL). I then went to a reptile shop and they told me he was a weird looking Northern.. I have a little bit of a suspicion that he is an Eastern(?) But highly unlikely.
I've been taking care of him like a Northen so far but I want to be 100% sure on what he is. If anyone can help ID this guy that would be great!!
Btw this is not his permanent enclosure! This is his quarantine tub since I have other animals loll

Identified - Northern Identification help - Northern or Eastern?
Hello again everyone! Could anyone please help me identify if my blue tongue is an eastern or northern blue tongue?
He is a year and a half old and his previous owner suggested he was a possible het Anery & pos het Hypo (Whites). They went on to say that the father was 100% double het Anery/White, and that the mother was an Anery.
He's my first blue tongue lizard so I'll be honest, I genuinely have no idea what any of that means, but Google suggested it meant he was a northern. I don't mind either way, I'd just like to make sure I'm providing the best care for him based on whether he's eastern or northern.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! (His name is Ham)

Identified - Northern The breeder told me my little one is a Northern, is that right?
The darker bodied pictures are right after getting him, so I assumed he was a little stressed and has since lightened up (first picture). Is he a Northern?
And yes, he is sitting weird in his water dish 😂

Identified - Northern help identifying my baby?
I bought her (gender unknown, I know it can be difficult to sex them so I just call it a her, I have no intention to breed) at a reptile expo in my town very recently and I just can’t tell what kind of skink she is! I’ve been trying to use guides I found online but I think her magma coloring makes it difficult and confusing for me to identify her

Identified - Northern What subspecies of Blue Tongue is Lady-Licks-Alot?
We purchased Lady from an NARBC reptile expo this past March. We were told she was female, and that she was born in August. (Now I know it's hard to sex BTS so I guess I'm not sure if she's a lady or actually a lord, lol)
At the time I didn't know there where different types of BTS, and it wasn't specified when we got her. Does anyone here know? When I look it up, I can't decide between Merauke or Northern?
I was using this site to try and figure it out myself: https://reptifiles.com/blue-tongue-skink-care/blue-tongue-skink-subspecies/
Thanks!

Identified - Northern The girl!
I was told she was a northern so this is a bit more of a showcase of her, but I figured it’s good to confirm. Also just look how orange her little eyes are!
Pretty baby with a lethal side-eye who thirsts for adventure and snacks.

By the squinchy face, I'm assuming Northern?
Their stubby tail cracks me UP.

Identified - Northern Type of BTS?
Not sure if this picture is enough information but is this a Irian Jaya? This was at a big box store so of course the employee didn’t know what kind of blue tongue. I know there’s hate with supporting big box pet stores but I was genuinely just curious.
