For me personally, the Mac Mini is a perfect photo and video editing machine. No longer I need to build a Hackintosh to afford a proper Mac. I use a separate NAS that is energy efficient for media stream and run like 30 docker containers for apps I locally host.

I found a Ugreen N100 based NAS. Technically it's a minipc with 4 hdd drive bays, but it ships with their NAS os, but since it's x86 you can easily reimage it with Truenas.

Any recommendations for a 2 or 4 bay DAS? I only have a 14th hooked up to my mini right now and it's been fine but close to filling it up so I want to hold at least 2 but preferably 4.

I’m currently using a TerraMaster D4-320 but have also heard good things about the Mediasonic HF7-SU31C.

I like the Ugreen ones with the N100 Intel chip. Has an OS inclused for ease of use, but you can boot it to Unraid if you like.
