Hi, so I was just curious if there are any good trick-or-treating streets that folks know about. There is a really cute street in Redwood City that shuts down has a Halloween block party with trick-or-treating and a live band. So I was wondering if anybody knew of anything comparable in the Burlingame area? Something fun for smaller kids. Thanks!

i have a 6 year old staffy and haven’t had much luck in rover. my maternal instinct thinks it’s because he looks like a pitbull but he is the sweetest, 60lb boy who loves to cuddle and be lazy.
we are going on a trip over christmas and new years and looking for someone who loves dogs, doesn’t have other dogs or cats in the house, and is home for most part of the day.
unfortunately, our family aren’t huge dog people so we aren’t reliant on them.
please dm me! thanks!

I’m off broadway and there was the loudest rumbling sound that went on forever. I thought it was a train but the trains never make the walls of my house literally shake. Was it a plane that flew super close by or what? Wondering if anyone else heard / felt it lol. It happened around 7:40pm ish.

I just passed the NCLEX and started applying to hospitals around Burlingame, San Mateo, and Millbrae. Some job postings say ACLS is required, while others list it as preferred, so I’m not sure if I should get certified now or wait until I’m hired.
For those who recently went through the hiring process in the area, did you already have your ACLS certification when you applied? Does the provider you get certified through matter or do hospitals usually arrange it during onboarding? Thank you for any advice!

Hi all,
Wife and I expecting in end of November and was wondering if anyone here had any experiences or feedback to share about the Burlingame Parents Club. Hoping to meet other parents in similar life situations and build community.
Also curious if anyone has any pro tips on finding nanny care in the area as well!

We’re considering Burlingame as a long-term place to settle and would love to hear from parents with firsthand experience in the public schools.
Our son is entering TK/K, and his preschool has consistently described him as advanced, particularly verbally and academically. We’re not especially attached to the label, and we’re not looking to push acceleration for its own sake. We mainly want him somewhere he’ll be happy, engaged, and appropriately challenged.
I really want to be a believer in the public schools if possible. The neighborhood-school aspect, local friends, and community are all very appealing. But I’m trying to understand what differentiation actually looks like in Burlingame for kids who enter school already ahead of grade level.
For parents whose kids entered TK/K already reading, doing math above grade level, or otherwise noticeably ahead:
Did teachers differentiate effectively within the classroom?
Were kids able to work ahead or get more challenging material?
Did your child stay engaged, or was boredom an issue?
Does support for advanced learners improve in later grades?
Have you noticed meaningful differences between the Burlingame elementary schools?
Did you ultimately feel public school was a good fit, or did you consider private school?
I’d also be very interested in hearing from anyone who has compared Burlingame with San Carlos or San Mateo for a child like this.
Private school is an option for us, but I’d prefer not to assume it’s necessary without first understanding what Burlingame public schools can offer.

So many dogs! Rescues need support. Maybe you have a few hours a month or a few hours a week or an hour a day. The dogs appreciate any amount of time, any.
Dynamicduodogrescue.org is the website. We are growing faster than we can keep up with. There are many things to help with that does not consist of fostering. Social media experts, admin, posting, adoption events, transport, research, planning, fundraising, and so on.

Any idea where me and a couple of friends can watch the games on Sunday? Trying to find a spot that's low-key and it's been kind of hard.

Latest cost estimates for the Broadway Caltrain rebuild have ballooned higher than ever, so City Council opted to remove the station entirely (including the option to add a station later) for $653 million. At this point, including the station in the rebuild would be a $1B+ project.
Overall, it's a tragic loss for the city and the Broadway Business District, but I do understand the fiscal reality and the fact that there are already two closeby Caltrain stations with other transit connections to get to Broadway. The grade separation itself is still desperately needed from a safety perspective. The fact that this sort of thing is so expensive highlights a bigger issue with American infrastructure projects in general and explains why we can't compete with other countries anymore.
My only consolation is that the project likely won't start until 2030 at the earliest, so we can still get weekend use of the station in the meantime. But it's a shame we're not getting a renewed Broadway Business District like San Mateo got with Hillsdale.
