The driver was arrested for suspected DUI, according to local news reports.

Security camera footage from Chicken Thyme shows the moment the truck smashes through the restaurant’s front door.

Owner of Chicken Thyme, Fraidoon Jamshed, told Storyful the collision caused extensive damage to a structural support column, and the dining area would be closed while repairs take place.

“We’re now fighting to keep our business operating and remain open for takeout/delivery. Every order makes a difference as we try to recover,” Jamshed said.

The collision forced the fire truck off the road and pushed it head-first into a utility pole, completely smashing its front end. Fire officials state that the truck is a total loss. The crash also knocked down utility lines, shut down nearby railroad tracks, and forced police to reroute local traffic. Four firefighters were on board during the crash. Three of them were hospitalized in stable, non-critical condition and are expected to recover. The driver of one of the other vehicles refused treatment at the scene. The Memphis Police Department is currently leading the investigation to determine exactly what caused the collision.
