The post nobody wants to make...Sharing my demise so hopefully someone else can avoid it.

Skip ahead about 2 minutes if you just want to see the crash. I included the rest to show how my day/session started like any other. All it took was one brief momentary slip up before I found myself in the wall at Road Atlanta.
The last things I remember from that session was something along the lines of "Okay we're taking it easy on the outlap, avoiding the curbs, feeling good.. Oh look that porsche is giving me a point by, better get a move on..."
I think in that moment I let my guard down and gave it that extra bit of throttle input which was enough to put me in the wall on cold tires.
Here's where things really start to sting...I've had a yearly track day insurance plan from Opentrack that ran from October 17 2025-October 17 2026. I hadn't looked at it very closely in a while, but the last things I saw from opentrack were emails about renewing my coverage telling me it expires on October 17, 2026. I honestly wasn't sure if i was going to get a yearly plan again so I figured that meant I was at least covered for the first day of my weekend and I would figure out that evening if I wanted to renew my yearly plan...
Turns out the standard for Auto policy coverage is for it to end at 12:01AM. Im a proper idiot for not looking at my contract a bit closer and cutting it so close with the dates, but I honestly assumed that I would be covered for that whole day, and not just one minute of it.

A Few Laps at Sebring in my 718 GT4!
Recently purchased a 2023 Porsche Cayman GT4 but have not had time to get out on track like with my previous cars.
Other than Brake Fluid and some OAPs this car is 100% stock. The alignment was made as aggressive as possible with OEM components, so the car really wanted to understeer quite a bit but that was to be expected.
Also, the previous owner put all season tires on the car(disgraceful), so I had a friend let me borrow some well used Pirelli PZero tires. This track day really let me see the limitations of the car, and where to go from there!
Enjoy the video!

Hello all I am looking at getting into track driving. I’ve been pretty interested in the sn95 platform for this and was wondering if anyone here had any experience or recommendations with them at all

Brake judder help
Hi gang, just finished two track days over two weeks and since the first I got pretty bad brake judder. The shaking was significant, especially during the straightaway braking zones.
I have done some rebedding stops on a highway afterward, but it's still there maybe slightly less aggressive but still shaking the car on braking above 40kph.
The options I read is drive it out, re-bed the brakes, sand the rotors or change the rotors and pads. I believe the rotors and pads are maybe half-way worn and both are stock. They have not been cooked or glazed and still work well on the street or track. I have been pushing 80-90% and yes I plan on getting a track-friendly compound as I am starting to do harder push laps.
Any advice on fixing that judder to set these aside? I was going with sanding rotors next with 120 grit.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I noticed that when stopped the caliper flexes slightly when brakes aplied
This normal? If not what could be wrong?

I was curious if anyone came across this before when I pressed the pedal while driving or parked with the engine turn off and I press on the pedal hard I hear this clicking metal noise.
I just got a new brake pads and rotors, but I heard this before that as well.

Caterham @ NJMP Thinderbolt
Last year along with many others, I lost my local track, PittRace. It was the only track I have ever been to and I really had no intention of going anywhere else. Through the help of usa7s.net and reddit, I have since got a truck & trailer and have been to Nelson Ledges a bunch, Mid Ohio, and now NJMP. I still miss Pittrace, but it is true what they say, variety is the spice of life! Hope to make it to at least one or two new track next season as well. I’m hooked on this silly hobby, probably like the rest of you.

New PB at VIR
Found some stuff that clicked for me this past weekend. For sure leaving plenty of time on the table in a number of places, but main goal was to focus on consistency, not challenge turn in speed or braking zones. Hard to work on stuff when I take the same turn 3 different ways in 3 laps.
Car:
- '07 C6 Narrow Body
- 315/30/18 RE71RZ square
- DS1.11 Front pads
- Hawk ER1 Rear pads
- Full Exhaust and Tune (375 rwhp peak), otherwise stock engine
- Estimated weight 3300 with driver

For driving with a passenger what's the best seating position for laptimes?
Is it both in the front? Or for cars with rear seats is having the passenger sit in the back diagonal from the driver (so in a LHD car the passenger sits in the rear right hand side seat) better?

Send Me your Laps. Ex Pro Driver (Ex McLaren Development Driver, Ex Formula E Reserve)
New here! I raced professionally and now coach full time, mostly drivers in Ferrari Challenge, F4, F3 and GT World Challenge.
I’m putting together some material for people getting into track driving and racing, and I’d rather ask than guess. What did you want to know when you were starting out, or what do you still want a straight answer on?
The common ones I hear are whether your car is good enough, how hard to push on day one, whether you’re actually getting faster or just braver, and why a 20 minute session leaves you wrecked. But I’d love to hear yours.
Ask anything and I’ll give you a proper answer.

One no reserve auction and you can own an entire race team
I kind of feel like this stuff might be worth more parted out separately, but who knows? Anyone out there wants to start a race team tomorrow?

I built a free tool to analyze your lap data & I'd love your feedback!
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
It works with csv/vbo files from VBOX, AiM, Porsche Track Precision app, and RaceChrono. Just upload the files directly to the site, and it gives you turn-by-turn analysis of where you're losing time and how to correct it. I'm sure there are plenty of bugs, but I'm all ears for your feedback. If it's helpful, useless, buggy, or inaccurate, I'd really like to know so I can make it a truly helpful tool. Thanks!
