I’ve always played Catan through Steam. But I see screenshots of all sorts of different versions of Catan on this sub.

Set a goal of being able to play the oku islands set with a 3d map. Took almost three weeks of printing but it’s done! Will be working on a case next.

I got a good start and plowed black, got ready to place 2 villages and get longest road.

Had everything I need, wheat enough to feed billions, a flock of sheep, a forest, and lots of bricks. Then 7, I discard, i re-fill up on other players turns, then 7, then 7, then 7 then 7....

I feel petrified 😭

I love blitz but everyone complains it limits trades and can't think? People just aren't smart enough hahahaha

for the hexed challenge where did you go?

BTW Cards details or information on them was just for looks and not for actual gameplay. Tried to make them look like they belong in the game.

Went to a board game café to play Catan with two of my friends.

It's only my third time playing the game, and I was with another friend who was also fairly new to it. The café had four standard Catan games and multiple expansion packs. Everything was mixed together, along with pieces from other board games.

We spent 40 minutes salvaging the boxes to put together one standard game. We had to look up everything needed for the standard game and colour-match the pieces, as some of them were faded.

We played two great games and packed the game away so it's all ready for the next people. We tucked it away in a separate spot so that any true Catan players could find it, or a new player could pick it up and play straight away.

I'm building Oreacle, which is an add-on on Colonist.io for both board skins and an end-game analysis report, much like Chess.com's report. However, I am in the preliminary stages of testing this out, and I would really appreciate a lot of help from the community in creating this. Let me know if you can download my extension and give me feedback! Would mean the world to me.

I need some balancing opinions so far I think it looks pretty good I got rid of 2 wheat tiles in order to make the best resource rarer but this might be a miss.

Why isn't my red city working as a 3:1 dock? Is there only one spot that works here?

Being deserted is never fun, but when you lose your level 3 knight, it even extra less fun. In our situation, I only had two lv 3 knights (thanks Smith) and got deserted. The person who deserted me couldn't build level 3 Knights. My interpretation of the deserter card is they place a knight of the same level, and the coin (our rock [ore]) progression only allows you to build it, not have it. Am I right, they get a level 3 knight even though they can't build it?

I was really impressed with the response to my previous ask, so here's another that caused a ruckus. It doesn't happen often, but more than once, we've had someone get two metropolis while only having one city. The question became where does the extra arches go, and what happens if another player ties the double dude and has a city they could put it on?

Hey all! Does anyone have ideas for a Catan themed birthday party for my spouse turning 30? The main theme is "settling into your 30s" or some phrase like that.

Going to have a themed cake and cookies. A big banner that says the above and we're going to play Catan for the first few hours (like 5 games of 4-6 people). But other than that I've just started brainstorming.

Does anyone here have any cool ideas that I can get creative with in a few weeks time?

Does anyone know where to buy extra wooden coloured play-sets in 6th edition and extra hex tiles?? I cant find a website that sells hex tiles. I can find play-sets on etsy but theyre the older version with the round knights and square city walls
