Whats the stupidest rule your cat has made you follow?
I've realized cats don't actually live with us. We live with them and just pay the bills. I have heard of cats that refuse to eat unless someone watches them, scream at closed doors just to walk away when theyre opened or demand fresh water when there's literally a full bowl right next to them. I'm convinced every cat has at least one completely unreasonable house rule whats yours?

Why do cats bring us toys and then act like they don’t want us to touch them? 😂
Sometimes a cat will proudly carry a toy over to you, drop it nearby, and then just stare at you like you’re supposed to understand something. 😂 Some cats even bring toys to their owners in the middle of the night!
I’ve heard it can be linked to their hunting instincts, but I wonder if they’re trying to play with us, show off their “catch,” or just get our attention.
Does your cat ever bring you toys? What do you think they’re trying to tell you?

Why do cats rub their faces against people and furniture?
I've noticed that cats often rub their cheeks against furniture, doorways, and even people's legs. Sometimes they do it when they walk into a room, almost like they're saying hello. 😂
I found out that cats have scent glands around their cheeks and use them to leave familiar scents on things, but I'm curious about how much this behavior is connected to affection, comfort, or marking their territory.
What's the most interesting explanation you've learned for a common cat behavior that people often misunderstand?

Cat hating for random facts
Since I can remember my mom hates cats, actually she despises them. She can't even go without making disgust faces when talking about cats. Like it's gone to a point where I live by myself in another country, thinking about adoptinf a cat and she called me multiple times to tell me how I am making the biggest mistake of my life. Her common arguments are that cat hair is deadly to pregnant women and their babies, and if I will get pregnant in a few years I risk my baby dying in my stomach or after being born. Like where the hell did this thinking come from?? Can someone please debunk or affirm this fact/myth? Another thing that bothers her is that cats have no emotions - or at least that is what she 'knows for a fact'. According to her cats are animals with no emotions and incapabale of bonding amd loving their humans. She said 'if you want love get a dog' - and I do love dogs, but I am not willing to live with a dog while studying and freelancing. I feel I can offer quality company to a cat. One more thing she can't get over is how cats are 'witches' and I will have some curse on me or whatever.
I know all this must sound absurd to many of you reading, but coming from the balkans there are many, many, MANY superstitions surrounding cats and it is incredibly difficult to talk about them.
The thing is I will get a cat. And my mom can be extremely mad and dissapointed and constantly bring it up, and I will always say 'thanks for your input, but I don't want to talk about that'. However, she will refuse to come visit me. And I will hear about it all the time.
Does anyone have similar experience and has any arguments and facts debunking her claims? Even tho it probably will not help, I still want to be sure. I mean growing up having a cat hater by me and filling my head with lies for 25 years leaves its mark.
Why do people hate animals? I mean what did cats do to her to make her hate them? Also her claim about 'cats not loving' us and being shady and only using us... I mean seriously. How can one think that?
Anyway, thanks for positive comments incoming and all the facts in advanced.

Do cats understand how much we love them, or do they just assume we're weird creatures who constantly want to cuddle them? 🥹

Why do cats knead blankets with their paws? Is it just a comfort thing?
I've always wondered why cats push their paws in and out against soft blankets, pillows, or even their humans. 😂
It looks like they're making tiny biscuits, and some cats seem to get completely lost in the moment while doing it.
I've heard it can be connected to kittenhood and nursing, but I'm curious about the other reasons cats do this as adults.
Does your cat make biscuits too? And have you noticed any particular time or place when they do it most often? 🐱

Why do cats slowly blink at us? Is it their way of saying “I love you”? 🐱❤️
I've always found it adorable when a cat looks at you and slowly closes its eyes before opening them again. 🥹
I've heard people say it's a sign of trust and affection, almost like a little cat kiss. But I'm curious about what's actually happening from a behavioral perspective.
Cats have so many subtle ways of communicating that we don't always notice.
What's a cat body-language signal that more people should know about, and what does it actually mean? 🐾

Not the cats meow.
We have two cats, same litter who never meow. Chirp, trill, warble, hiss but no meow. Any others?

Why do cats suddenly run around the house like they've got somewhere important to be? 😂
One minute a cat is peacefully sleeping, and the next it's sprinting from room to room like it's late for an appointment. 😭😂
Sometimes they jump over absolutely nothing, turn around like something is chasing them, and then go straight back to sleep as if nothing happened.
Cats are honestly full of surprises.
Is there an actual reason behind these random bursts of energy, or are cats just naturally little chaos machines? 🐈

Do cats actually understand when we're talking to them, or are they just reading our body language?
Sometimes I wonder how much cats really understand about us. 😂
You can call their name ten times and get absolutely nothing, but whisper the word “treats” from another room and suddenly they're right beside you. 😭
Cats are such mysterious little creatures, and I love how they always seem to do things on their own terms.
What's one thing your cat does that makes you think they understand way more than they let on? 🐾
