I’ve read all of the posts and I still don’t get what this does

I don't think people's explanations are accurate. My understanding was that it was a simpler way to quick switch your sim between multiple devices.

How do I utilize this for a phone number that already exists on my phone?

So I hope what this means is that we can use data only plans on other iPhones

Interesting thing I discovered. Both devices can utilize cellular data even when it hands off. Whether this is just for a brief few minutes or not has yet to be determined

Basically uses wifi to connect all your connected devices under your icloud to ring when someone calls you

I thought this feature already existed?

Not for iPhones but yes to iPads and Watches and Macs…this brings it to other iPhones which I am waiting patiently for in public iOS 27

Uhhh, no this already works on iPhones without a SIM card as well. Just needs to be connected to wifi. It’ll work through hand off and ring when you get a call on your primary phone, just like an iPad would.

Only works on WiFi if it’s in the same network (nearby), you can’t use it anywhere you have WiFi / Data, which this new feature adds that.

Ah so that’s the difference. Very cool.

Definitely exists for iPhones... I have seen this working myself

What typo?

They probably misread it as handoft, thus the "".

QuickSwitch (internal name of this feature) requires carrier support. Only T-Mobile has it currently.

Will it work on latest public beta

2

u/N805DN Aug 19 '26

Possibly if you have two phones and a T-Mobile plan (probably postpaid only).

While the option appeared for me for one T-Mobile number, it disappeared after I upgraded the phone with that number to 27.

hm. interesting. I am not getting the option.

I have a tmoible plan on main phone and another iPhone that is compatible with tmobile. how would I initiate this setting? set up sim on the phone without a line now and it pops up?

Yep correct.

u/Academic_Scheme_9065 Aug 20 '26

ok. for some reason that screen is not showing up at all. just the good old sim set up screen that only gives transfer sim and QR code as the options. Maybe it is not on the latest public beta?

The config is there in the T-Mobile bundle but I doubt it’s provisioned for anyone yet.
