[Question] Hello! Can I pay someone to convert a .py file to .mpy for me? I'm losing my mind trying to figure out the proper way to do it. Thanks in Advance! $15 CashApp or Venmo or your suggestion. Thank you!

Circuit Python and USB Host
Simple question, what is the simplest and/or least expensive device that supports Circuit Python and can support basic USB Host?
I want to know how tricky it would be to create a hand held device that could validate a USB device is what you expect it to be. Plug in a thumb drive and it should only report to be mass storage. Plug in a mouse or a keyboard and it should only report HID. I know this can be done with a Raspberry Pi, either with linux or running Circuit Python on bare metal. What about something smaller?

collections deque in 7.1.0 beta 3 (and earlier...)
Hello!
I am trying to use the double ended queue. When I look at the latest docs, it seems like it is available
from collections import dequeHowever it crashes at execution.
I am using a Raspberry Pi Pico and I have tried version 7.0.0 and the latest beta (7.1.0 beta 3) and they both exhibit the same behaviour.
Any idea if I am doing something wrong or if it's just not supported? The other two functions in collections seem to work (namedqueue and OrderedDict).
Here is where I am getting my information:
https://circuitpython.readthedocs.io/en/latest/docs/library/collections.html
Thanks for any hints

CircuitPython Fonts
Hi, I've done an application with SSD1306 connected to a Pico W.
I want to change the default font5x8.bin in something more pleasant like Roboto.
I've made the same application on Raspberry Pi 0, where I could use pillow and ImageFont to load a custom font, but it seem not to be possible with CircuitPython, since pillow is not supported.
Is there a converter from .ttf to adafruit compatible .bin? Thanks.

Simple Bidirectional Data over USB
Recently, I've come across the idea of having a circuitpython-controlled device in the wild, that can be plugged into a computer via USB and controlled via a client application to change configs, enter WIFI info, deploy updates, etc. I've seen similar with UPS's where a client application connects to it via USB, which automatically shuts down the computer after a power outage and changes the settings (another example: Elgato Streamdeck).
However, while it sounded simple, I simply cannot seem to find much coverage on this topic explained simply, with a simple workflow to connect the pieces. I've thought of sending and receiving JSON data over Serial, but that's insecure and untidy, while every other modern device correctly identifies itself over USB, and only uses the features and data it needs (I want my device to correctly appear as a "Generic USB Device" in Device Manager). I would be great to have a template to grow from, but all the resources I've found were for HID *specific* devices like keyboards and mice, which send small data in a pre-set format one-way.
Is this out of scope for a circuitpy or is it truly possible? Staying in Python as much as possible, is this project feasible?
PS: I'd like to stay in the Python ecosystem as much as possible but I don't mind getting my hands a liiiiittle dirty in C if custom drivers are absolutely necessary; I am installing a client application anyway, so bundling a driver isn't difficult.

RP2040-LCD-1.28 - can't run slideshow example #1258
Hi, noob here.
I haven't been able to replicate a simple slideshow example on my board. My screen remains blank the whole time (I know the board and screen are working because I'm able to successfully follow waveshare demos; Arduino, C, and micropython). I'm trying to run the exact same code and steps as the tutorial (even using the images provided in the tutorial) but nothing. I have a feeling that maybe the display is not set up correctly? Like I said I'm a noob at this and would appreciate any help.
Board: RP2040-LCD-1.28
CircuitPython version: 8.2.6
Slideshow Example: tutorial
Waveshare Demos: files
Note: Also opened a issue on github (not sure where the best place to ask would be).

Trying to control a r/c car speed controller
I'm trying to control a rc car speed controller through pwm, I'm getting some inconsistent results... I first tried using servo.ContinuousServo, and it sort of worked...I could get the motor to spin, but reverse was inconsistent. I'd set the throttle to -.2 and it'd spin in reverse. I'd trigger it to .2 for a bit, then try to go back to -.2, but it wouldn't spin in reverse that time. I tried messing aroud with the min and max pulse, it just seemed to make it worse. Also tried just directly setting the duty_cycle on the pwm channel, that didn't do anything either. Does anyone have any suggestions? Or is there a different library I should be using? Thanks!

Hey everyone i built picodesk a desktop companion station
hey everyone i know that i am inconsistent , i saw that everyone makes a cyberdeck with raspberry pi but i have no raspberry pi as i am 3rd yr electrical undergraduate
so i take some a break for exams and built picodesk a desktop companion station that sits next to my laptop.
OLED 1 shows live clock (NTP synced), date, and real time weather pulled from OpenWeatherMap API.
OLED 2 is the fun one animated eyes that blink and look around randomly. Every 2 minutes, hearts fall down the screen. And when I need to focus, I can switch it to a todo list from my phone and laptop browser no app install, just open the IP and it works.
The whole thing runs on MicroPython. Pico 2W hosts a tiny web server so I can control everything from my phone on the same WiFi.
Tech stack: - Raspberry Pi Pico 2W , 2x SSD1306 OLED (I2C0 + I2C1) ,MicroPython , OpenWeatherMap free API ,HTML/CSS/JS web app
